Cake “Emerald Turtle” with shortcakes in a frying pan

Kiwi is perfect for decorating desserts. This amazing turtle can be cooked in an hour.

Ingredients:

– Condensed milk (in dough) – 1 jar.
– Egg (2 in cream, 1 in dough) – 3 pcs
– Slaked soda with vinegar (in dough) – 1 tsp.
– Flour (+2 tbsp for cream) – 450-470 g
– Milk (for cream) – 500 ml
– Sugar (for cream) – 1 cup.
– Vanilla sugar (in cream) – 1 packet.
– Butter (in cream) – 200 g

Manufacturing:

Since the shortcakes cook extremely quickly, it is better to cook the cream right away:
1) Pour milk into a saucepan, add 2 eggs, 2 tablespoons.
spoons of flour, a glass of sugar and a bag of vanilla sugar, beat well with a whisk and put on low heat. 2) Cook, stirring, until thickened.
3) Add butter to the hot cream, stir and cover with a lid so that the cream does not cool.

Now let's start with the shortcakes.
1) Pour a can of condensed milk into a bowl, add an egg and mix well.
2) Then add soda slaked with vinegar and evenly add flour.
When it becomes difficult to stir with a spoon, transfer the dough to a work surface and knead. There is no need to beat it too hard - the dough should be soft and elastic. 3) Divide the dough into 8 equal parts. Roll out any shortbread and prick it with a fork in several places.

Heat the pan over medium heat and start baking.

The shortbreads bake extremely quickly - almost 1 minute and turn over right away. In this way we bake all 8 cakes.

Then we take a plate of a suitable size and cut off all the shortcakes. We will need the trimmings for sprinkling the cake.

We begin to grease the shortcakes with cream. Our cream is still hot, the cake will soak through very quickly.

Then grease the top and sides of the cake well too. Sprinkle with crumbs. The cake is ready.

I currently have a surplus of kiwi, so I offer you this cake design option. Bon appetit!

  • 400 g condensed milk
  • 1 testicle
  • 1 tsp soda (slaked with vinegar)

  • 200 g sugar
  • 2 testicles

Recipe for making a dish at home

  1. Prepare the custard for the Emerald Turtle cake. Pour milk into a saucepan and put on fire. Beat the eggs into a bowl, add flour and stir thoroughly with a fork until completely homogeneous.
  2. As soon as the milk boils, reduce the heat to low and pour vanilla and regular sugar into it in a narrow stream. Beating the egg dough with a fork, pour hot sweetened milk into it, spoonful at a time. In this way, pour about a quarter of the milk into the egg mixture.
  3. While stirring the bubbling milk in a saucepan, pour the egg mixture into it in a narrow stream. Stirring with a spoon or whisk, cook the custard until thick (1-2 minutes). Remove the pan from the heat, add the butter and stir thoroughly until it dissolves. Cover the pan with the cream with a lid.
  4. Prepare the dough for the Emerald Turtle cake . To do this, first sift the flour through a sieve into a bowl. Pour the condensed milk into a separate bowl, add the egg and beat with a mixer until smooth. Combine the condensed milk mass and half the flour, mix.
  5. Quench the soda with vinegar and stir into the condensed milk dough. Then add the remaining flour and knead into a soft, non-stick dough. Place the ball on a floured table and knead it lightly with your hands.
  6. Roll the dough into a “sausage” and cut it into 8 pieces. With all this, 4-5 pieces are larger, and others are a little smaller. Roll out each piece of dough into a round sheet about 20 cm on a floured surface. The outermost 3-4 cakes should be 1-3 cm smaller in diameter. Prick any layer with a fork in several places. To ensure that the shortbreads come out even, cut them out with a large plate of suitable diameter.
  7. Prepare the shortcakes for the Turtle cake in a frying pan or in the oven at 180/200C (10-12 minutes). To do this, put the frying pan on the fire and heat it up very much. Place one cake layer on a hot frying pan. After a few minutes or when it turns brown, turn it over to the other side.
  8. Fry all the other shortcakes in this way. If you want to bake the cake layers in the oven, line the baking sheet with parchment paper or sprinkle it well with flour. Cool the finished shortcakes on a wire rack.
  9. Kiwi for the Turtle cake must be peeled and thinly sliced . Place the shortcakes with cream on a dish in the following order: the largest shortcake, custard, the next shortcake, cream, etc. The shortbreads must be placed in descending order in diameter, so that the top one is the smallest.
  10. Grease the surface and sides of the cake with the remaining custard and decorate with kiwi. Cut half a kiwi lengthwise into two parts, put one quarter as a “turtle head”, and cut the second into two parts and create a “paw” from them. “Eyes” for the turtle can be created with pieces of chocolate or simply slightly cut with a knife.
  11. Throw the Emerald Turtle cake in the refrigerator for 4-6 hours to soak. Then take out the dish, cut the kiwi cake into portions and serve. Enjoy your tea!

Emerald Turtle Cake – a beautiful quick dessert

Do you understand that a very, very beautiful, simply luxurious cake can be created breathtakingly quickly and simply? To do this, you do not need to have the skill of decorating cakes and be able to create flowers, berries and leaves from cream and mastic. Even the ability to work with caramel and icing will not be useful to you. And you can achieve a great effect with the help of the well-known, beloved, juicy and catchy kiwi! Therefore, you and I will prepare an ordinary, but beautiful and delicious cake under the symbolic name “Emerald Turtle”.

By the way, another advantage of this cake is that you don’t need an oven to make the cakes - they are baked directly in a frying pan. Are you intrigued? Then let's get started. And at the same time we’ll learn about other ways to make such a delicious dessert.

  1. Traditional cake “Emerald Turtle”
  2. Jelly cake “Emerald turtle”
  3. Cake "Emerald Turtle" made from sponge cookies

Traditional cake “Emerald Turtle”

  • A can of condensed milk;
  • 2 half cups of flour;
  • 1 testicle;
  • A pinch of vanillin;
  • A teaspoon of slaked soda.
  • 2 testicles;
  • 2 tablespoons flour;
  • 2 glasses of milk;
  • 1 glass of sweet sand;
  • 1 stick of butter;
  • A packet of vanilla sugar.

First you need to knead the dough. This is done extremely simply and quickly. Pour the condensed milk into a bowl, break one egg into it, add soda and vanilla, quenched with vinegar or lemon juice, and beat it all with a whisk until smooth. Then, evenly, in small portions, we begin to add the sifted flour, kneading the elastic dough. Place the finished dough on a floured table and divide it into eight similar parts. Peel the kiwi (a lot - six to eight pieces) and cut into slices.

Now you need to prepare the cream, because the shortcakes bake extremely quickly, and you need to assemble the cake from warm cake layers and hot cream. So, beat the eggs with sugar and mix the resulting mass with flour. Pour the milk into a saucepan, add vanilla sugar and the egg-flour mixture. Mix everything well and put the saucepan on low heat. Without stopping stirring, boil the cream until thick, and at the end add butter. Turn off the heat, mix the cream well and cover the pan with a lid.

Now we start baking the cakes in a frying pan. Roll out eight flat cakes from the dough according to the size of the pan in which we will bake them, and prick them in several places with a fork. Grease the frying pan with oil, put it on the fire and alternately bake flat cakes on it, frying them on each side for no longer than one minute. We put the finished cakes in a stack so that they do not have time to cool.

Now we are assembling the cake, placing the cakes on top of each other and covering them with cream. We cut off the edges of the cake, put the scraps in a bowl and fill them with the remaining cream. We leave the cake and the scraps to soak in the cream, and later we coat the cake with the cream mixture, forming it in the shape of a turtle shell. Place kiwi circles on top, and also cut out legs and a face from whole berries. That's all! Our “Emerald Turtle” is ready!

Jelly cake “Emerald turtle”

  • 2 cups thick fat sour cream;
  • A glass of sweet sand;
  • Half a kilo of sweet crackers;
  • 60 g gelatin;
  • A packet of vanilla sugar;
  • Kiwi.

First you need to soak the gelatin by filling it with cool water. We look at the proportions and soaking time on the packaging, because different manufacturers recommend different methods of using it. While the gelatin swells, prepare the cake mold. It is best to take a round bowl that, when turned upside down, resembles a turtle shell. Wash the bowl and wipe dry. Peel and cut the kiwi into slices.

Now we place the swollen gelatin in a water bath, add a little more water to it (significantly less than indicated in the annotation) and heat it until it is completely dissolved. Next we proceed to the very important step of making the cake. We take a culinary brush and, dipping it in watery gelatin, grease the mold from the inside, immediately laying out its bottom and walls with kiwi circles. This must be done quickly, because a thin layer of gelatin thickens almost immediately. We put the mold in the refrigerator and start making jelly.

Place the cooled sour cream in a suitable container, add sugar and beat until fluffy. If you can’t achieve fluffiness, don’t worry - the jelly will still work out. Break the crackers into small pieces and pour them into the sour cream. Mix the resulting mass and pour gelatin into it. Now take the mold out of the refrigerator and carefully pour the sour cream mixture into it. Again, put the bowl in the refrigerator and leave it there until the jelly hardens completely.

Before serving, lower the bowl into hot water for a few seconds, and then carefully tip it onto the dish, removing the cake from the mold. To complete the look of the turtle, we make the head and legs from the kiwi.

Cake "Emerald Turtle" made from sponge cookies

  • 2 cups of flour;
  • 6 eggs;
  • One and a half glasses of sugar;
  • A teaspoon of baking soda;
  • Half a glass of walnuts;
  • 4-5 pieces of kiwi.
  • A stick of butter:
  • Half a glass of sour cream;
  • A can of boiled condensed milk;
  • Vanillin.

Break the eggs into a bowl, add sweet sand to them and beat with a mixer until white. Now mix the sifted flour with soda (quicklime!) and pour it into the egg-sugar mixture, kneading the dough. Turn on the oven and let it warm up to 200 degrees. Line a baking tray with baking paper and place a tablespoon of dough on it, placing the cakes 2 centimeters from each other. Bake the biscuit cookies until browned. Remove the finished cookies from the baking sheet, bake the next portion and so on until all the dough is completed.

While the cookies are cooling, whip the cream. To do this, mix soft butter with sour cream, beat lightly, and then, continuing to beat, add boiled condensed milk in small portions. At the end add a pinch of vanillin. We assemble a cake from cookies, smeared with cream, and form a turtle. Paws and a face can also be created from cookies. Cover the entire cake with cream on top and decorate it with kiwi slices and nut kernels. We put the cake in the refrigerator for several hours, after which our “Emerald Turtle” is ready to go to the table.

You see, The Emerald Turtle can be extremely different. Which turtle did you like? Try first the most common and most recognizable recipe for making this dessert. And if you are a fan of culinary tests, then the jelly version or a biscuit cake will certainly intrigue you. Don't be afraid to try something new and cook with pleasure. Bon appetit and success in the culinary field!
