Pizza dough in a bread machine

If you prefer homemade pizza to store-bought ones, you probably make the dough yourself. I have already shared several pizza dough recipes on the website and now I am offering another option. This will be pizza dough in a bread maker - a miracle machine that significantly simplifies the life of modern housewives.

The indicated quantity of goods yields 730 grams of ready-to-bake pizza dough. It is enough for 3 regular (30 cm in diameter) pizzas and there is still a little left. Pizza dough for this recipe can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, so it can be prepared for future use and consumed as needed.

Ingredients:

Making a dish step by step:

To make pizza dough in a bread machine, we need wheat flour, warm boiled water, salt, olive oil and instant yeast. We use specifically dry active yeast, in other words, those that do not require preparatory preparation, but are added directly to the flour.

Pour warm drinking water into the bread machine container. Warm, this means so that the body feels pleasant, but in no case is it hot, otherwise the yeast will simply cook and the dough will not rise.

Then pour salt into the water and shake the container a little so that the crystals dissolve in the warm water. Next add olive oil. If you don’t have it, use any refined vegetable of your choice.

Sift wheat flour into a container. I have the highest grade, but the first grade is excellent for pizza.

And finally, add the instant yeast. We will need 3 grams, and this is a level teaspoon.

We insert the container into the bread machine and turn on the DOUGH mode. My time is 1 hour 30 minutes.

For the first 3 minutes you need to watch the dough so that the bun forms. It comes out elastic, holds its shape unsurpassed, but at the same time soft and affectionate. If the flour is very wet, you will need more of it than indicated in the ingredients. Just add a little bit at a time during the kneading process. Or, on the contrary, if it is dry, you will need to add water. That's it, now close the lid and wait for the readiness signal.

An hour and a half later from the start of the program, the yeast dough for pizza in the bread maker is ready.

I think you have already decided what kind of pizza you will prepare? If not, check out the SEARCH website and you'll find at least 9 different homemade pizza recipes.

Bon appetit, my dears, and delicious pizza for you!

True Italian pizza dough in a bread machine

By following detailed step-by-step tips with photos, you will learn how to prepare true Italian pizza dough in a bread machine according to the usual recipe. In just an hour and a half you will get ready-made fluffy yeast dough, which is suitable not only for pizza, but also for other types of baked goods. And most importantly, for this you will need only 5 ingredients and little time, because the equipment will do all the work for you.

Kitchen appliances and utensils: kitchen scale, measuring cup, sieve, teaspoon, tablespoon, bread maker.

Ingredients

Product Quantity
Water 270 ml
Salt 1 tsp.
Vegetable oil 2 tbsp. l.
Wheat flour 500 g
Dry fast-acting yeast 11 g

Step-by-step production

  1. Pour 270 ml of water into the bread machine bowl. Add 1 tsp. salt, 2 tbsp. l. vegetable oil.
  2. Then sift 500 g of flour directly into the bowl. Level the surface of the flour. The flour must be sifted without fail, and ideally even a couple of times. This will make the dough even fluffier. Please note that flour varies, so you may need a little more or a little less. Moreover, if when kneading by hand we can supervise this, then in the case of a bread machine we can only take into account the individuality of the resulting dough and next time change the amount of flour a little.
  3. Sprinkle dry instant yeast on top of the flour. Try to carefully distribute them over the entire surface. Choose yeast only from proven manufacturers, otherwise the dough will not rise. In addition, carefully study the label. Not all dry yeast is fast acting. Some of them must be activated before use, in other words, diluted in warm water and left for some time until a foamy cap appears, and only later added to the rest of the ingredients. If you are not convinced of the quality of the yeast, it is best to dilute it to check. If the foam head is rather fluffy and appears quickly, there is no need to worry, the yeast is of high quality. But if there is absolutely not enough foam or there is no foam at all, it is better not to use such yeast.
  4. We set the bread machine mode to “Fresh dough” and wait for the program to finish. For most bread makers, this program lasts 1-1.5 hours. The finished dough must be left in the bowl for another 5-7 minutes so that it has little rest.

After this, lay it out on the work surface, divide it into parts and roll it into a narrow layer. To prevent the dough from becoming airy during the rolling out of one of the parts, cover the others with a towel or cling film. Next, the rolled out dough is usually placed on a baking sheet, having previously greased it with vegetable or butter. You can also use baking paper. After this, the dough is generously greased with ketchup or sauce, the filling is laid out and covered with grated cheese. Pizza is baked at a temperature of 180-200 degrees, depending on the characteristics of a particular oven and the amount of inside, for 15-25 minutes.

In this video you will find detailed instructions on making real pizza dough in a bread machine. The creator carefully knows which ingredients are useful for this and in what proportions they need to be combined. It also clearly shows what kind of dough comes out in the end.

Pizza dough in a bread machine

Anyone can prepare pizza dough at home, especially if “smart” kitchen appliances come to the rescue. Thus, pizza dough is made in a bread machine a little faster than with your own hands, all this without the role of the housewife herself, who at this time can relax or do other useful things. It must be said that the bread machine not only kneads the dough, but also heats it up, as a result, the dough comes out especially tender and elastic. So if you have this unit in your house, it’s better to entrust it with making the pizza base.

Individuality of technology

Making pizza dough in a bread machine differs from kneading it with your own hands, and it doesn’t hurt to know these subtleties so that the result lives up to your expectations:

  • Some bread machines have a kneading mode, which is called “Pizza”. If such a mode is available, you must select it. In another case, the “Yeast-free dough” or “Yeast dough” programs are selected, depending on the selected recipe.
  • It is necessary to put the ingredients into the bread machine in the order indicated in the recipe. Quite often, such recipes are compiled by the device manufacturer himself. Usually, water, oil, and flour heated to 26–28 degrees are added first, after which a depression is made in the flour, where other products are added.
  • Before using it to make pizza dough in a bread machine, flour must be sifted by hand - this will make the dough more tender and fluffier, and will prevent flour moths or their larvae from getting into it.
  • There is no need to bake the pizza base in a bread machine. It is better to create this in the oven, preheated to the highest temperature beforehand.
  • The pizza dough will be even tastier if you add a little herbs, dried garlic or onions to it when kneading.

In a bread maker you can create both yeast and yeast-free dough. At the same time, yeast dough can be prepared for a narrow pizza or fluffy.

The recipe you choose will depend on your taste.

Yeast dough for narrow pizza in a bread machine

The dough prepared according to this recipe requires narrow rolling. It will be even better if you can stretch it with your hands, as professional bakers do. In this case, the pizza base will be more tender.

Fluffy pizza dough in a bread machine

  • Prepare all the ingredients indicated in the recipe.
  • Place the ingredients in the bread machine bowl in the following order: heated water, sifted flour, salt, sugar, dry yeast, softened butter.
  • Launch a suitable program (“Bread”, “Pizza”, “Yeast Dough”).
  • After the bread machine kneads the dough, you will need to stretch it with your hands, press it in the center, leaving sides on the sides, grease it with sauce, put the filling and bake it in an oven heated to 250 degrees.
