  • salt - 1 teaspoon,
  • hot water - 1 glass.

Making pickled onions:

1. Cut the onion into thin rings or half rings. The thinner they are, the more marinated they will be. If you are preparing onions for a salad, you can immediately cut them into the shape you need in the salad, for example, into small cubes.

2. Place the onions in a bowl and prepare the marinade. To do this, pour hot water, but not boiling water, into a separate container, and then add salt and sugar to it. Stir until everything dissolves and add vinegar.

3. Pour the purchased marinade over the onion so that it is completely covered. If the marinade is not enough for this, then add hot water. Stir and leave to marinate on the counter for about an hour.

4. After an hour, check the degree of doneness to your taste. Remember, the longer the onion sits, the more spicy and pickled it will be. If after an hour it suits your taste, then drain the marinade and you can serve the onion on the table with the kebab or add it to the salad.

But most of all I like pickled onions. After all, this way it comes out juicy, crispy and, which is not much important, without bitterness. And it makes a perfect appetizer for barbecue, herring, or salad dressing.

Unfortunately, not everyone knows how to properly pickle onions, although there is absolutely nothing complicated about it. And what’s more, the cooking function doesn’t take much time, which just can’t help but make it fun.

Naturally, I have great recipes for making snacks in my arsenal. And I will gladly share them with you.

And remember one fundamental condition:

Onions must certainly be fresh. And you can use any variety: reddish, snow-white or yellowish.

Pickled onions for barbecue with vinegar

Well, anyway, let's start the process. Option 1 is very popular and common. Thanks to this manufacturing technology, all the bitterness is removed from the snack, but the taste of the onion may be slightly bland.

Ingredients:

  • Vinegar - 1 tbsp. spoon;
  • Onions - 2-3 pcs.;
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon;
  • Water - 1 tbsp.;
  • Sugar (sweetener) - 2 teaspoons.

Pickled onions can be stored for a number of days. To do this, transfer it to a glass container and fill it with marinade. Close the container tightly with a lid and store in the refrigerator. Now you can get a snack at any time.

Manufacturing method:

1. Take a ladle and pour purified water into it. Then add sweetener and salt. Place the saucepan on the heat and bring the liquid to a boil.

2. Later, peel the onion and cut it thinly into rings.

Ingredients:

  • Water - 2 tbsp. spoons;
  • Onion - 2-3 heads;
  • Reddish, dark ground pepper - to taste;
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon;
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon;
  • Vegetable oil - 1 teaspoon.

Manufacturing method:

1. Peel the onion heads and cut into half rings. Squeeze all the juice out of the lemon.

2. Take a deep bowl and place half rings in it. Pour lemon juice over them. Next, in a separate glass, combine water, salt, sugar and pepper. Stir well until the salt and sugar dissolve. And pour it here.
