A colorful, tasty and fragrant preparation for the winter - let's preserve grapes and apples in the form of compote. This drink will cheer you up in the cool season, reminding you of long sunny days and a rich harvest of fruits and berries. Grape and apple compote is a regular recipe, and such a delicious result!
I suggest the proportions of ingredients for the recipe for compote from grapes and apples are for 2 liters, and prepare the berry drink without sterilization (using the double-fill method). Of course, you can close the grape compote in a liter or three-liter jar - just change the amount of ingredients.
Ingredients:
Making a dish step by step:
To make apple and grape compote for the winter, we will need the following ingredients: drinking water, grapes, apples and sweet sand.
Wash the grapes (400 grams) under cool running water, then let the water drain. There is no need to remove the berries from the bunches! True, it is important to realize that the initial raw materials, in other words, the berries themselves on the branches, must be of good quality - without traces of mold and rot.
We carefully wash the apples, dry them and cut them into slices (400 grams is the cooked weight), removing the seed boxes and the attachment points of the stalk. Broken, wrinkled, rotten or wormy fruits are not suitable for compote for the winter.
Prepare the dishes for future fruit and berry preparation in advance - jars and lids. We will need a two-liter jar or two liter jars. Carefully wash the jars with soda or mustard, rinse and sterilize in the oven, microwave or on the stove (whichever you prefer). The lids need to be boiled in water (5 minutes) or simply washed and poured with boiling water (in recent times I use this particular method). Place apple slices and grapes directly on the hands in jars (800 grams of berries and fruits in total).
It is necessary to heat up the water in advance. When it boils, pour grapes and apples in jars - almost to the very edge. By the way, boil a little more water than indicated in the recipe (for example, 1.5 liters).
Immediately cover the jars (tighten them with screws, but not one hundred percent) with the prepared lids and leave for 15 minutes. During this period of time, the grapes and apples will warm up, the berries will partially crack (this depends on the thickness of the skin) - this is the first filling, which contributes to the long storage of the workpiece.
Drain the water from the jars back into the pan. There should be no water left in jars with apples and grapes.
Pour 200 grams of sweet sand into the water, mix and place the pan on the stove. Over medium heat, stirring, let the compote boil. Cook for almost 1-2 minutes.
Pour the bubbling grape-apple compote over the berries and fruits in the jar to the very top.
We immediately close it with a seaming key or tighten it with screw-shaped caps.
Turn the jars over with their lids down, wrap them in something warm and leave them like that until they cool completely. After this, store the apple-grape compote in a dry and dark place. Not necessarily in a cellar or basement - it is also perfectly stored in a city apartment.
You will definitely like this fragrant, moderately sweet and very tasty homemade compote of grapes and apples.
Cook for your health, friends - successful preparations for you and bon appetit!
Compote of apples and grapes
Cooking: 20 minutes
The time for apples, pears, grapes and other gifts of August and September begins. So it’s time to start preparing these gifts of summer for the winter, as well as bake pies and pies, and cook the freshest sweet compotes. It's hot days outside, and a cool compote of new fruits perfectly relieves thirst. In fact, when making compotes, it is very difficult to specify clear proportions of ingredients. And if you add a little more of one or another component, it will not spoil the taste at all. I will prepare a portion of 5 - 6 liters, but the same amount of apples and grapes can be used when making, for example, 4 liters, then the compote will have the richest taste. But it’s important not to overdo it with sugar, although some people love it sweeter. I used fairly sweet apples, and the grapes were sweet, so 7-8 tablespoons (heaped) of sugar is more than enough. It is best to taste the compote towards the end of cooking, but keep in mind that while the compote is infused, its taste may change little (especially if you use very sour apples). You can add any berries and fruits to such compotes, so if in your refrigerator, in addition to apples and grapes, you have plums, apricots, or any berries, including fresh frozen ones, then all these goodies can be safely added to our compote. And if you have jam or preserves left over from last year, you can safely use it instead of sugar.
PS: This compote is perfect for a Lenten table. Moreover, compote can be made from virtually all berries, fruits or dried fruits.

Recipe for making compote from apples and grapes
Wash the apples and remove putrefactive and wormy areas as necessary. Apples can be pitted or simply cut into 4-8 pieces, depending on the size of the apples.
Wash the grapes well. You can pick the berries from the twigs; if you are using homemade grapes, you can simply wash them well and use them together with the twigs.
Bring water to a boil and add sugar. Then put the cooked fruits in the water. When pouring water into the pan, leave space for the fruit.
Bring the compote to a boil and cook for 3-5 minutes. Compotes are best cooked covered. It is very good to cook such compotes in a large saucepan, without adding water to the brim, then they will not escape from under the lid during boiling.
Cover the finished compote tightly with a lid and let it cool and brew.
After the compote has steeped and cooled, it is best to pour it into a jar, bottle or jug and put it in the refrigerator.
You can strain the compote through a colander, or you can eat it together with boiled fruit.

Ingredients:
- water – 4 l;
- grapes 1 kg;
- apples 700 g;
- sugar 6-8 tbsp. l.
How to make compote from grapes and apples
Start by preparing all the ingredients. Grapes of any variety and color will do. The main thing is that the berries are ripe. Place the grapes in a colander and wash well. Pick the berries from the bunches. Sort them and remove the defective fruits.
Use a masher to remember the berry mass. If you are going to preserve the compote for the winter, there is no need to crush it with a masher.
Now prepare the apples. They can be of any variety. Use a special knife to remove the core. Remove the skin with a vegetable peeler. Cut the pulp into small slices.
Pour cool water into the pan. Add apple skins. Send it to the fire. From the moment of boiling, boil for 5-8 minutes so that the skin is perfectly cooked.
Afterwards, remove the skins with a slotted spoon. Add grape mixture and chopped apples to the bubbling broth. Stir and let it boil. Cook for about 10 minutes so that the fruits release their own juice and smell. With all this, make the heat a little lower than medium so that the water does not boil too much.
When all the fruits and berries give up their own juice and the broth acquires taste and color, it’s time to achieve the desired result. As a sweetener, add sugar to taste. Stir and boil for 3-5 minutes. If the initial products were quite sweet, it is better to add a little citric acid.
Compote of grapes and apples is ready.
Cover it with a lid and let it cool one hundred percent. Later strain and serve.
Compote can be consumed warm or cool. In the summer, bottle it and store it in the refrigerator.

Recipe for fragrant apple and grape compote without sterilization
A drink that can be prepared quickly, but is not recommended to drink right away. It should sit well until it gets a beautiful color. The grapes must have time to convey their own taste and smell.
For the drink you will need for one can (3 liters):
- grapes – 350g;
- apples – 4 pcs.;
- water (2l);
- sugar (1 glass);
- citric acid, cloves (to taste).
For compote, take as many components as you want to get the drink in the end: whether you want to get more fruit or the drink itself. The ratios can be adjusted in any direction.
- Wash the apples and grapes under water and dry them.
- Core the apples. Look closely at all the blocks: there should not be wormholes. If the fruits are very huge, then cut them in half or into pieces. You don't have to remove the skin. You shouldn’t cut it very finely, otherwise the pieces will simply boil over.
- Pick the grapes from the branches. Sort through the grapes, if they are firmly held on the bunch, then you can put the whole bunch in the compote, but if the grapes are falling apart, then it is better to tear them off. The grapes are carefully separated from the grapes; if you throw in the twigs, the compote will have a tart taste.
- Boil water in a saucepan.
- Great for cleaning jars.
- Pour apples and grapes into them.
- You can add a little citric acid or a couple of lemon slices or cloves. The jar will be half full.
- Pour boiling water from the pan into all jars. Cover them with clean lids.
- After 5 minutes, pour the water from all the cans back into the pan and bring to a full boil again.
- In another saucepan, boil the lids for rolling for 5-10 minutes.
- Cover the ingredients in jars with sweet sand (according to your own taste).
- After the water boils, fill the jars with boiling water to the very top and immediately roll up the hot lids.
- Turn the jars upside down and wrap them well.
- After cooling completely, they must be transferred to the pantry or cellar.
By that time, the drink will already have acquired a pinkish color and, of course, a divine smell. But we only learn about this when we open the drink.
The proportions of all ingredients are arbitrary and the amount of sugar must be found by the degree of acidity of grapes and apples.
The grape-apple drink is ready. On a winter evening with the whole family, while having lunch or dinner, you will all remember summer and enjoy the pleasant taste of compote. The rich color of the compote will take you into ecstasy.
