The diet of every average family includes meat once a day. Some people prefer poultry, some prefer pork, and some prefer beef. Our website contains a huge number of recipes that you can use to prepare a wide variety of beef dishes. It could be stewed beef with vegetables, baked beef or goulash. The recipes are accompanied by photos showing step-by-step manufacturing steps. To get the maximum benefit from a dish, it needs to be cooked correctly, and this can be done using a slow cooker.
Individualities of beef production
Cooking beef in a slow cooker makes it soft and tender. During production, a small amount of fat remains in the pieces of meat. To make dishes from beef and other types of meat, there is now no need to use additional ingredients, such as sunflower oil. The beef is softened by the steam from the device, becoming warm and juicy.
Preparing beef for cooking
Before sending the beef into the cooking bowl, the meat is cut into steaks one and a half centimeters wide. Then they are divided into strips two to three centimeters wide, washed, dried with a cardboard towel and transverse cuts are made. You can put spices in them, for example, garlic. Production begins with the prepared products being placed in a bowl. This can be created with balls or other methods indicated in the recipes. Close the lid and select the appropriate mode from the menu.
How to choose a multicooker
When choosing a multicooker, you need to decide what dishes you will cook in it most often. If these are meat dishes, then it must certainly contain modes associated with its production. The Meat Making function must be located first. Since this function is provided in all multicookers, pay attention to the presence of additional adjustments to the manufacturing process:
- rapidly;
- slowly;
- usually.
Stewed beef will turn out great in a leisurely mode, products that vary in weight and quantity - in the usual mode, and medium and small portions of meat are great to cook in a fast mode.
An additional mode, which allows you to keep dishes warm for five to six hours after finishing cooking, will amuse the student who returns home from class, and he will not need to heat up lunch.
If you have not yet decided which recipe to use for your own piece of meat, then use our catalog of recipes, supplemented with photos of the manufacturing steps. With a wide variety of meat production methods available, you are sure to find one that suits your taste.
Beef in a slow cooker
Beef and veal are considered one of the most desirable types of meat. But this meat is not amenable to every cook. Maybe it’s a matter of inability to choose good meat, or maybe the problem is that beef requires a long, thoughtful preparation. In the past, the task given to us was handled by a Russian oven. Now the issues of long languor are being solved by our kitchen assistant - a cyber-pan, a cartoon, a magic pot - a multicooker.
Beef in a slow cooker does not belong to the “Once and done” section. It must be correctly selected, prepared and selected such spices and seasonings that will fully reveal the taste and smell of this meat. And don’t forget to choose the mode for stewing longer, so that the finished meat practically melts in your mouth...
Warm cuts are better suited for stewing. It is better to leave meat on the bone for aspic or jellied meat. Beef can be fried before stewing to seal in all the juices and give the pieces a wonderful color. Beef in a slow cooker is good on its own, in a sauce, with a minimum of spices, but the addition of vegetables, mushrooms, dried fruits, a certain amount of alcohol and other ingredients turns an ordinary stew into a masterpiece.
Let's start with the most common recipe, which, once mastered, you can then improvise with all your heart.
Beef stew in a slow cooker
Ingredients:
1 kg beef fillet,
2 onions,
2 carrots,
1 tsp.
salt, ½ tsp.
ground black pepper, 1 tsp.
dried herbs (to taste), 3-4 tbsp.
vegetable oil (or ghee), 1-1.2 liters of water.
Preparation:
Cut the onion into cubes, grate the carrots on a large grater or cut into thin cubes, if desired. Carrots cut into cubes somehow taste better. Try it yourself and compare. Just cut it lengthwise, not across it - first cut the carrots crosswise into pieces of a suitable length, and then cut them lengthwise into cubes. Particularly sophisticated gourmets throw away the core, believing that it spoils the taste of the dish. Anyway, let's get back to our beef. Wash it, dry it and cut it into cubes with a side of 3-4 cm. In the bowl of a multicooker in the “Baking” or “Frying” mode, heat up the vegetable oil, or better yet, ghee, put the pieces of meat in the bowl and fry them, stirring so that they are all The sides were covered with a golden brown crust. Then you can proceed in 2 ways. The first is the most common: put chopped onions and carrots in a bowl, fry slightly in the same mode, then add all the spices and seasonings and add hot water so that the meat is one hundred percent covered. You can add more water if you want to get something like a gravy. “Extinguishing” mode for 2.5-3 hours, and close the lid. The second method differs in that the vegetables are not placed in the bowl immediately, but after a couple of hours from the start of stewing. This is done only to preserve their appearance.
This recipe can be slightly changed by adding sour cream or cream to the stewing water. In order to get a thick gravy, mix flour (about 1 tbsp) in warm water and pour into the bowl. If you want to get beef in tomato sauce, after frying the meat, add 50-100 ml of tomato paste or tomato puree (you can take more) into the multicooker bowl and fry with onions and meat. Then everything follows the scheme: add water (stir well so that there are no lumps), add spices and set the “Stew” mode for a couple of hours. You don’t need to add carrots to beef in tomato sauce.
Beef in a slow cooker with vegetables
Ingredients:
600-700 g beef pulp,
2 onions,
2 carrots,
1 sweet pepper,
2 tomatoes,
2-3 cloves of garlic,
salt, ground pepper, meat spices - to taste.
Preparation:
Fry the diced meat in a multicooker bowl in the “Baking” or “Frying” mode without adding oil. Stir until the meat changes color. Pour in hot water (amount as desired), add salt and spices and set the “Stew” mode for 1.5-2 hours. Chop the vegetables coarsely. If you have a curly slicer, cut the carrots into wavy circles. Cut out the space of the stem of the tomato, make a cross-shaped cut and scald with boiling water. Remove the skin and cut the tomatoes into 6-8 wedges. Cut the sweet pepper into squares. Chop the garlic with a knife and set aside for now. After the signal about the end of the mode, place the vegetables on top of the meat without stirring, add a little salt and pepper and again set the “Stew” mode for 30 minutes. After the mode ends, add garlic to the bowl, stir and let the dish stand in heating mode for another 10-15 minutes.
The composition of vegetables can be changed and virtually any ingredients can be added. Potatoes, baby zucchini, eggplant, even pumpkin. The manufacturing principle is the same for any ensemble.
Beef in a slow cooker with prunes
Ingredients:
800-900 g beef,
5-7 onions,
1-2 meaty tomatoes or 2-3 tbsp.
tomato paste (you can use tomatoes in your juice), 200-250 g prunes,
250-300 ml water or broth,
3-5 tbsp.
vegetable oil, 1-2 bay leaves,
salt, ground black pepper - to taste.
Production:
Cut the meat into slices and fry in the “Baking” mode in vegetable oil until the color changes. Add the chopped onion and simmer until soft for about 5 minutes. Peel the tomatoes, chop finely and add to the bowl. Mash the tomatoes in their juice with a fork. Simmer for another 10 minutes. Pour in hot water or broth, add bay leaf, salt and pepper, close the lid and set the “Stew” mode for 1 hour. After the signal, place the washed prunes into the bowl and set the stewing time to 30 minutes. Remove the bay leaf and keep the dish on heat for 10 minutes.
Beef with pickles in a slow cooker
Ingredients:
500-700 g beef pulp,
2 onions,
3-5 pickles (specifically pickled ones!),
1-2 tbsp.
vegetable oil, 2-3 cloves of garlic,
salt, ground black pepper - to taste.
Preparation:
Cut the meat into cubes and fry in the “Baking” mode until golden brown, stirring. Cut the onion into cubes, add to the meat and fry until soft. Salt, pepper, add enough water to cover the meat, close the lid and set the “Stew” mode for 1-2 hours (optional, the longer the meat is stewed, the tastier it is). Cut the cucumbers into cubes; the skin can be removed if it is tough. Finely chop the garlic. Add cucumbers and garlic to the bowl after the signal about the end of the mode, set the simmering time for another 20-30 minutes, and after the signal, keep it on the heat for 10 minutes.
You can add carrots and tomato paste or sauce to this recipe (you can even just replace part of the water with tomato juice). And if you boil peeled potatoes in the basket of a double boiler, then at the end you will immediately get a side dish. Or do this: put 1 multi-cup of well-washed rice into the multicooker bowl with the beef and add more water.
