Yeast dough bagels

Ingredients

  • 500 g flour
  • 2 tsp. dry yeast
  • 5 tbsp. l. Sahara
  • 2 testicles
  • 75 g butter
  • 200 ml milk
  • 0.5 tsp. salt
  • 2 tbsp. l. sesame seeds
  • 100 g jam for the inside

Manufacturing

  • Mix warm milk, yeast, a tablespoon of sugar and two tablespoons of flour. Leave for the yeast to activate.
  • Sift the flour into a bowl, add the remaining sugar, salt, beaten egg and yeast mixture. Knead the dough.


    At the end of kneading, add oil. Knead the dough thoroughly. Leave the dough to rise for 1 hour.

  • Divide the finished dough into 12 pieces. Roll each into a ball, cover with a towel and let stand for another 10 minutes.
  • Roll out any ball into an elongated cake a little longer than your palm.


    Place a spoonful of the inside on one edge and press the edges so that the jam does not leak out.


    Make four slits on the other edge and form a bagel.

  • Transfer all the bagels to a parchment-lined baking sheet and leave for 15–20 minutes until the bagels rise.
  • Brush the bagels with beaten egg.


    Sprinkle with sesame seeds (sugar or poppy seeds if desired).

  • Bake for 20–25 minutes in the oven at 180 degrees.

    To do this, you need to divide the dough into three parts. Roll one part into a circle. Grease with butter and sprinkle with sugar to taste, and then with poppy seeds. Create diagonal cuts by dividing the circle into 8 parts.

    Roll any section into a bagel from the wide part to the narrow part.

    From the 2nd and third parts of the dough I will make ordinary bagels, not sweet ones. Create everything the same way, just don’t add anything.

    Place bagels on sheet. Sprinkle with water and leave for 20 minutes to rise. Bake at 180 degrees for 25 minutes.

    Cool the finished milk bagels and serve.
