Add prunes, coriander, allspice and ground pepper. Pour in the remaining water and lemon juice. Stir everything and simmer together, stirring, until virtually all the water has evaporated. . Ingredients:

  • 1 kg. cabbage
  • 1 medium carrot
  • 1 medium sized onion
  • 200 grams of dried prunes (you can use smoked ones)
  • 0.5 liters of homemade tomato juice (can be replaced with tomato paste)
  • 1 teaspoon salt (no heaping)
  • 3 tablespoons sugar (I like sweet and sour)
  • bay leaf optional
  • 1-2 pcs. peppercorns
  • vegetable oil for frying vegetables

1. Let's prepare all the necessary products. Unfortunately, there is no tomato in the photo, I use homemade, I just forgot to add.

2. I cut the cabbage with a shredder, you see, it’s snow-white, without greens, and not limp. It is important that the leaves are juicy and crispy, not bitter. Can be chopped with a sharp knife. There is no need to crush anything with your hands.

3. Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan, almost 2-3 tablespoons, heat it up, and lay out the vegetables, fry over medium heat, stirring. I fry it in 2 steps, first a portion, then I put it in a casserole, and a second portion, everything didn’t fit in my frying pan.

4. I transfer the vegetables into a cauldron; you can take a pan with a thick bottom, because it is very important that everything simmers and does not burn.

5. Then we peel the vegetables, grate the carrots, and cut the onion into cubes, you can see all this in the photo. As I wrote above, you can take 2 carrots and 2 onions. Just take orange, juicy and sweet carrots.

6. Pour vegetable oil into the frying pan, almost 3-4 tablespoons, and fry the vegetables, first add the onions, then the carrots. I pour in the tomato, I have homemade tomato juice.

If you use paste, then dilute 2-3 tablespoons in 500 grams of clean water. Also, I put salt and sugar in the roast, mix it, it will dissolve and there will be no crystals. Simmer for 5-10 minutes over medium heat.

You can also add sweet bell pepper; it can be consumed either fresh or frozen.

7. Pour the roast into a container with vegetables and stir. Vegetables will release juice during the stewing process, keep this in mind, but if you don’t find there is enough water, you can add 100 grams of unstained water.

8. Prunes can be dried or smoked; the latter has the most distinctive taste and smell, and because I don’t like them very much, I use dried ones. I washed it, dried it with a cardboard towel and cut it into 3-4 pieces into strips, maybe into 2 pieces, it all depends on the size.

9. I put the bay leaf and dark peppercorns, I also lay out the cooked dried fruits, if you want to add dried apricots, now is the time to add them.
