Caramelized bananas
Preparation time: 5 min.
Production time: 10 min.
Number of servings: 4 pcs.
Ingredients
Caramelized bananas
Caramelized bananas are a good and fairly well-known delicacy, although we are more accustomed to using bananas raw. These bananas can be served as an independent dessert or used as a filling for donuts, rolls, and sponge cakes. Caramelized bananas can also be served with ice cream, pancakes, and pancakes.
Preparing such a delicacy is quite simple, although certain aspects should be taken into account here. So, for the dish you should choose fairly ripe, but at the same time hard bananas so that during caramelization they do not turn into puree. For the same purpose, bananas should not be cut into very thin pieces. The best thickness for banana slices is 1.5 centimeters. You need to caramelize such bananas in a thick-walled frying pan not for very long, and at the same time carefully turn the pieces to the other side.
By taking these aspects into account, you will end up with careful, savory pieces of caramelized bananas.
How to cook “Caramelized Bananas” step by step with photos at home
For work we will need bananas, butter, sugar, water, cinnamon (optional).
Melt 50 grams of butter in a thick-walled frying pan.
Add 100 grams of sugar, stir and cook for a couple of minutes until the sugar melts and turns amber in color. Do not overcook the mixture so that the sugar does not burn.
Add 60 ml of bubbling water and stir until the sugar dissolves. The mixture will boil, so be careful.
Peel 4 bananas and cut into pieces 1.5 centimeters wide or cut in half horizontally. Place the bananas in a single layer into the boiling caramel.
Cook for 1.5-2 minutes on one side. Then turn it over to the second side, sprinkle with cinnamon (1 g) and cook for another 1.5-2 minutes on the other side.

Caramelized bananas
Hi all. Now I would like to tell you how to create a super tasty filling for sponge cakes or rolls. Bananas, who doesn't love them? But almost everyone is afraid that their insides will darken. So, if you are also afraid of this or are simply looking for a recipe for an extraordinary topper, this article is for you.
Absolutely, I admit, I really love bananas in cakes; they add incredible tenderness to the sponge cake. There is already one recipe for the Milk Girl cake on the blog, it has bananas in the layer, this cake is indescribably easy to make and just as indescribably delicious. By the way, the bananas in it were the freshest.
According to my own idea, now for the vanilla sponge cake I wanted to specifically caramelize the bananas, thus soaking the sponge cake itself with this caramel syrup. It turned out really juicy and delicious.
So, how to prepare caramelized bananas for a cake at home, recipe with photos step by step.
- 3−4 bananas
- 100 gr. Sahara
- 50 gr. butter
- 50 gr. water
First, let’s prepare the bananas themselves, peel them and cut them into pieces, don’t make them too small, otherwise the mass will turn into puree, leave pieces one and a half to two centimeters long.
We choose the thickest-walled dishes. Melt our butter in this saucepan.
Add sugar to the melted butter.
And, stirring from time to time, wait for the sugar to dissolve; by this time it should acquire an amber color. Be careful not to overcook, otherwise the sugar will burn and the mixture will taste bitter. The mass may come in lumps, don’t be alarmed, it will all come apart later.
Once the sugar is melted, add the hot stuff! water, mix. Be careful, the mixture will boil.
Add bananas and, stirring, simmer for 5 minutes.
I added another 50 grams of water, I wanted to get more water to soak my sponge cake.
Remove from the stove and cool to room temperature.
I swapped the filling and cream in the cake, first placed bananas with caramel syrup, and then the cream. I didn’t soak the sponge cake itself enough with cream, but after 6-8 hours, when the cake absorbed the syrup from the inside, it became simply delicious in taste.
Oh, my cutaway cake looked so delicious.
The cake came out very tasty - vanilla sponge cake, cream filling in the layer, cream cheese on top.
By the way, if you caramelize bananas in this way only in the largest pieces, and maybe even completely, then it can be served as an independent dessert, supplemented with a scoop of ice cream.
Try it too. Children will literally appreciate this taste!
