Pea soup with smoked meats in a Redmond slow cooker
Pea soup with smoked meats in a Redmond slow cooker
Household appliances make life easier for every woman. My main assistant in the kitchen is the Redmond multicooker. Thanks to it, you can quickly prepare delicious dishes. I have a weakness for pea soup, it is one of my favorites. As a child, I remember how my mother spent a long time fiddling around, it took 3 hours to make it, and because of this she rarely cooked it.
Thanks to the multicooker, you will spend 10-15 minutes of your own time, and it will do the rest for you and in an hour you can eat a tasty and fragrant pea soup.
Ingredients:
- onion - 1 pc. ;
- carrots - 1 pc. ;
- peas - 200 g;
- potatoes 3-4 pcs. ;
- carbonate - 150 g
Manufacturing:
Pour vegetable oil without aroma into the multicooker bowl; 2-3 tbsp will be enough. l. spoons Chop the onion and carrots, mix and select the “fry” mode, cook for 7 minutes. Such frying will not only give the soup a wonderful golden color, but will also better reveal the taste of the remaining ingredients.
I understand that almost everyone just puts onions and carrots without frying them, but for me the soup immediately loses its taste.
Absolutely, I’m not a fan of spending 3 hours on cooking, so I buy peas in halves. It does not need to be soaked, especially if you cook it in a slow cooker. Wash well and place on fried onions and carrots.
Then add potatoes, adding them in random pieces.
I put smoked meat on top, usually using carbonate. There is no fat in it, which I don’t like, and you can simply cut it into portions, but it gives the same taste as meat on the bones.
I add 1.5-1.7 liters of water and a pinch of salt, close the lid and turn on the “soup” mode. In the Redmond multicooker, the automatic program is set for 1 hour, and I cook for that long.
Then I pour the hot soup into plates and garnish with the freshest herbs. In addition to pea soup, croutons made from snow-white bread are an excellent choice.
The dish comes out thick, rich, with a catchy taste. Lunch is indescribably satisfying; I usually eat soup like this when I can’t have a snack in the afternoon; I remain full until dinner.
Pea soup has been a taste since my youth. Mother cooked it on weekends in winter, because the peas needed to be soaked and cooked for a long time. Now that I have a slow cooker, the process has accelerated. A multicooker naturally greatly simplifies the life of a modern housewife. There are so many recipes on the website for any day and for a special occasion that anyone will find a suitable option for themselves.
Delicious soup, I think it would be delicious without meat too.
We love pea soup and I have also learned to cook it in a slow cooker. And I also do the frying. It’s unlikely that I often cooked it without a slow cooker. Still, peas take a long time to cook.
Delicious soup - no doubt about it, but with smoked ribs it’s even tastier. Thanks for the recipe.

How to cook pea soup with smoked meats in a slow cooker
Ingredients:
- Peas – 250 g
- Potatoes – 400 g
- Carrots – 220 g
- Onion – 200 g
- Pork ribs – 400 g smoked
- Sausage – 120 g smoked
- Sausage – 100 g smoked
- Sunflower oil – 30 g
- Spices - salt, ground pepper, bay leaf to taste
- Water – 4 l
Manufacturing:
Take dried peas, potatoes, carrots, onions, smoked meats, sunflower oil, spices, water.
Peel the onions and cut into small pieces. Wash and peel the carrots, grate them on a large grater.
Smoked meats include ribs, sausages, sausages, smoked meat, and bacon. It all depends on your taste. To make this pea soup, I used smoked ribs, smoked sausages and sausages.
The ribs must be cut into separate pieces, the sausages into rings, and the sausages into strips.
The bowl of my multicooker is designed for 5 liters, so the recipe is calculated specifically for this size. If your slow cooker is smaller, reduce the amount of ingredients.
We will start preparing pea soup by frying it directly in the slow cooker. Add sunflower oil to the bowl and start. Launch the “frying” program. Place chopped smoked meats (not including ribs), grated carrots and chopped onions on the bottom. Fry for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally with a wooden spatula.
Carefully wash the peas until the water becomes clear.
Peel and wash the potatoes. Cut into small pieces.
Add peas, potato slices, and smoked ribs to the fried ingredients for the soup in the multicooker bowl.
Pour water, either cool or preferably hot. Cover tightly with a lid. Set the “stew/beans” mode for 1 hour. If you like chunks of peas in your soup, 40 minutes is plenty.
You can set it for 1.5 hours to make it thicker. What’s so good about pea soup in a slow cooker is that you can adjust the cooking time to suit your own taste. If you like 100% boiled peas, then leave the “heating” mode after the “stewing” mode for several hours.
At the end of the program, you need to release the steam by opening the lid. Taste the pea soup and adjust to your liking. You can add bay leaves, ground dark and aromatic pepper, thyme or other herbs. If necessary, add salt.
Pea soup with smoked meats in a slow cooker is ready. Bon appetit!
