How to choose the right ingredients
- Pay special attention to the choice of pork. It is best to take a small amount of ribs: the bones will give the fat, and the meat will give the dish a richness. You should not eat very fatty pieces, the soup will not be very tasty. The ribs can be replaced with a piece of the ridge, adding a few blades or slices.
- It is better to use refined sunflower oil.
- Peppercorns can be replaced with any consistency of peppers or seasoning for soup. Make sure it is without flavor enhancers.
Step-by-step pork soup recipe
To prepare such a tasty and quite simple pork soup, you won’t need a lot of time and effort. First, I’ll tell you how to cook it on an ordinary stove, and below I’ll clarify the specifics of making it in a slow cooker.
- Wash the bones and meat properly. If you want a rich broth, place the bones in a saucepan where you will cook and cover with cool water. If it is necessary for the meat to remain juicy, pour boiling water over it, and only then cook. The amount of water in any of the cases does not change - 3 liters.
- If you additionally use pork pulp, cut it into portions and place it in the broth 20 minutes after the bones boil.
- Cook the broth for half an hour from boiling over low heat. As foam appears, remove it with a slotted spoon.
- It is better to add salt to the broth at the very end of cooking.
- Peel all vegetables and wash.
- Cut the potatoes into large cubes, carrots and onions into small ones.
- Place the potatoes in the broth half an hour after it starts boiling. Let the soup boil again, then reduce the heat. Cook the soup for about 10 minutes.
- Pour sunflower oil into the frying pan. When hot, add carrots and onions. Fry them until golden brown.
- Dip the roast into the soup and simmer the dish for another 10 minutes.
- Taste the almost finished soup and add salt as needed.
- Place peppercorns and bay leaves in it.
- After a minute, turn off the soup.
How to quickly cook pork soup in a slow cooker
Now let's talk about how the sequence of actions changes and how long you should cook pork for soup in a slow cooker. I prefer not to use the “Soup” mode, but to cook in the “Stew” mode: although this way the dish takes longer to cook, the taste comes out the richest and deepest. Moreover, it doesn’t require any special effort from me.
Before cooking pork soup, prepare the ingredients - use the list from the stovetop recipe.
- Wash the meat, cut into portions.
- Peel and chop the onions and carrots.
- Pour oil into the multicooker bowl and fry the cooked vegetables and meat. I do this in the "Bake" mode.
- Pour 3 liters of water into the multicooker, select the “Stew” mode. Set the timer for an hour.
- Meanwhile, cut the peeled potatoes into small cubes.
- An hour after you start stewing the soup, add potatoes and add salt. Cook in the same mode for another half hour.
- At the end add pepper and bay leaf.

Step-by-step production
- Pour 300 grams of meat with 2 liters of cool water. Cook for an hour over low heat, constantly removing the foam with a slotted spoon so that the broth comes out clean.
- Pour 60 grams of millet with cool water and leave for 50 minutes. Then we wash off the starch.
- Wash the onion, peel and cut into small cubes. Wash the carrots, peel and grate on a large grater.
- Pour vegetable oil into the frying pan, you can add more if you like fatty, nutritious dishes. Place the chopped onion in a frying pan and sauté until it becomes transparent. Add 50 grams of butter to the frying pan.
- Then add the grated carrots and continue sautéing.
- Place the previously peeled and chopped potatoes into the pan with the meat; I used 6 tubers.
- After the roast has browned, transfer it to a pan with broth. Season with a spoonful of salt and a pinch of ground pepper.
- Pour the washed millet into the soup. Cook for 20 minutes. Add 2 bay leaves.
- 2 minutes before the end of the manufacturing process, add finely chopped 30 grams of parsley.
It’s hard to answer why the pork soup got the name “Field”.
I like the version that this first dish was once cooked over a fire, somewhere in a field, at a rest stop. Potato soup with pork

Recipe for Potato Soup with Pork:
Let the meat and broth cook. I took half the pork and half the pulp and ribs. Pour water into a saucepan, add meat, bring to a boil and skim off the foam. We lay out the whole onion in the peel. Cook the meat for approximately 30 minutes. Salt the broth to taste. The onion in the peel will make the broth golden. Prepare vegetables for soup and butter. I do not recommend replacing butter with anything else. It will taste completely different!
We will need a thick-bottomed pan in which we will first simmer the vegetables in butter and then cook the soup. If you don’t have one, then you just need to take a frying pan or saucepan and simmer the vegetables there. Melt the butter and add finely chopped onion. Let's gild it. Add the carrots, reduce the heat, cover with a lid and simmer the vegetables for about 5 minutes. Add the bell pepper, also cut into small cubes. Simmer for another 5 minutes.
Cut the potatoes into small cubes and add them to the vegetables. Simmer for about 15 minutes so that all the vegetables are saturated with oil and become friends. The vegetables will be almost ready. Pour in 1.5 liters of strained broth. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and cook until potatoes are done. It's fast. At the very end, add peppers, bay leaves, and taste for salt. If you think it’s not salty, add more salt. Cook for another 3-5 minutes and remove from heat.
Now I will prepare spicy croutons from Borodino bread for this soup. A perfect couple! To serve, cut the boiled pork into pieces and finely chop the green onions.
Pour the soup into bowls, add meat and green onions. Serve it with crackers.
