Recipe for “Snack Puffs with Ham and Cheese”:

Let's prepare the ingredients for the puff pastries. The dough is puff pastry, I have two layers (1 package). Grate the cheese and cut the ham into strips. Chop the garlic and dill and mix with mayonnaise.

Roll out the dough a little, to a thickness of 2-3 mm. Lubricate with mayonnaise consistency, while leaving the lower edge of the layer ungreased

Place the ham on the dough, also avoiding the ungreased edge.

Place cheese on top of ham

We begin to carefully roll the roll, tightly, but try not to tear the dough.

We moisten the left, ungreased edge of the dough with water and tighten our roll; press down the space that was greased with water more firmly so that the dough “seizes” and the roll does not unwind.

Cut the finished roll into portioned rolls 4-5 cm wide. Place the cut side on a greased baking sheet. Beat the egg and grease the walls of our rolls, especially carefully grease the “seam” - the space where the roll is held together. Place in the oven for 30 minutes at 180 degrees

These are the golden brown, crispy and fragrant puff pastries we got. And what a taste! Bon appetit!

Puff pastries with ham and cheese

Friday, August 7, 2015

Now I’m offering a regular recipe for home baking - let’s prepare delicious crispy puff pastries with ham and cheese. This is a wonderful addition to a family tea party or a regular option for a quick snack. You can take these puff pastries with you on the road, to work, or give them to your children at school.

This recipe uses puff pastry without yeast, which, if desired, can be prepared at home or purchased in a store. Instead of ham, you can take your favorite boiled-smoked meat, the main thing so that it is very thinly sliced into slices. Processed cheese in plates will come in handy.

Ingredients:

Making a dish step by step:

The recipe for puff pastries with ham and cheese includes the following ingredients: yeast-free puff pastry, processed cheese in slices, ham (or any other boiled-smoked meat), also one chicken egg for greasing and sesame seeds for sprinkling. You can take sesame as you have, not necessarily in different colors.

If you have frozen puff pastry, you need to defrost it in the refrigerator in advance to make it soft. Then we roll out the dough and cut it into similar squares. I got 10 squares from 500 grams of puff pastry without yeast. By the way, if necessary, lightly sprinkle the table with flour when rolling.

Now take one piece of dough and roll it out into a narrow rectangle with a rolling pin.

Place a plate of processed cheese on one edge so that there is a centimeter left on each side.

Now we place a slice of meat on top of the cheese - ask the merchant to cut it thinly, because at home it is very difficult to achieve this even with a very sharp knife.

Now we roll up the dough with the inside into a tube (starting from the edge where the cheese and meat are).

All that remains is to carefully tuck the edges of the dough into the center of the tube so that during baking the puff pastries do not unravel and the cheese does not leak out.

This is how we prepared all 10 puffs. Turn on the oven to heat up to 200 degrees.

Brush the puff pastries with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Personally, I really like to eat seeds of two different colors.

We transfer the preparations to a baking sheet, which we previously covered with baking paper. In this way, most of the egg with which we greased the puff pastries remains on the board and will not burn during baking.

Cook the puff pastries at 200 degrees for about 20 minutes. Focus on your oven and the desired degree of browning of the finished products. But in any case, do not lower the temperature in the oven - for puff pastry without yeast it is not allowed lower.

Well, that’s all, let the puff pastries cool a little and you’re ready to eat. It turns out very satisfying and tasty, try it!

Puff pastry with ham and cheese

When you want to vary your breakfast and step away from the usual cheese sandwiches and sausages, you can make puff pastries with ham and cheese. Puff pastry often comes to the rescue because it is suitable for making various pastries. In this recipe I will tell you how to make golden-brown puff pastries with cheese and ham for breakfast. Get to work!

To make puff pastries with cheese and ham, we will need:

  • Puff pastry without yeast - 2 layers
  • Ham – 300 g
  • Cheese - 300 g (Suluguni, Russian, Kostromskoy, Smetankovy, Creamy)
  • Egg - 1 pc.
  • Sesame or poppy seeds - 2 tbsp. spoons
  • Baking paper

How to make ham and cheese puff pastry

  1. Cut the ham and cheese into 8 slices of similar width. The cheese can be grated, but it seems to me that during production the cheese will melt and take on a suitable thickness, and in terms of time, especially when you need to quickly prepare these puff pastries for breakfast, it saves time.
  2. Prepare a baking sheet and line it with paper. Beat the egg with a whisk into a light foam and prepare a pastry brush for coating our puff pastries.
  3. The dough for rolling must be at room temperature, so you need to get it in advance. I will tell you about 2 methods of wrapping puff pastries. Whichever one you like best, use that one. Method 1: Roll out the dough sheet into a square to a thickness of 1-2 mm. Divide the square with a knife into 4 equal parts.
  4. Place slices of cheese on any square and ham on it.
  5. We fold our puff pastries in the form of envelopes on all four sides.
  6. We pinch any edge of the puff pastry and make it curly. Before pinching, the edges must be moistened with water for strength. Oh, this is what happened to me:
  7. 2nd method - puff pastries with cuts. Roll out a layer of puff pastry into a rectangle, 1-2 mm wide. Cut with a knife into 4 even rectangles.
  8. Place the filling on the near half of each rectangle: first cheese, then ham. On the far half we make 3 cuts in the center, not reaching the edge.
  9. Cover the filling and pinch the edges. Transfer the prepared puff pastries with ham and cheese to a baking sheet.
  10. Preheat the oven to 190 °C
  11. Using a brush, coat each layer with beaten egg on top so that after baking they come out golden and not pale. Sprinkle with sesame seeds or poppy seeds. Place in the oven for 20 minutes.

Oh, this is what happened to me:

Sprinkle with herbs and serve for breakfast or lunch.

By the way, puff pastries are perfectly stored in the refrigerator, both in finished form and in the form of preparations before baking, so you can create them in advance and heat or bake them for breakfast, saving a little time.

Cook with soul, eat with pleasure!
