Italian pasta can be prepared in different ways. There are no comrades for taste and color, as they say. Would you like it with meat, would you like it with mushrooms, would you like it with vegetables? I suggest preparing pasta with seafood, specifically tiger shrimp. Why specifically tiger? Because they are especially tasty and the degree of their readiness is easy to detect by eye by the change in color. The pasta comes out simply good - tasty and fragrant! I myself love pasta with seafood, so I advise you to cook it specifically according to this recipe. Nothing complicated! Everything is simple and accessible. So, let's get to it.

To make pasta with tiger prawns we will need

  • 150−200 g pasta (dry, before cooking)
  • 250 g shrimp (it is better to use tiger shrimp, but you can also use regular shrimp, of any size)
  • 2 pcs. new tomatoes (you can use cherry tomatoes, increasing the quantity by 3 times)
  • 1 onion (preferably reddish, but regular onion will do)
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 30 g olives or pitted olives
  • 50−70 g Parmesan cheese
  • Olive oil for frying
  • A few sprigs of thyme
  • Parsley and basil
  • Salt, pepper, spices - to taste

We will prepare the pasta in several steps. Which can be created in parallel, because you can cook pasta, fry shrimp and prepare sauce on several burners at once.

And I will tell you everything in order. How it all fits together in the final dish when served is up to you to decide. The main thing is the sequence of components in the manufacturing process!

Cooking Italian pasta with shrimp

  1. Let's prepare the shrimp. We will clean them from the shell, tails and heads if you are using shrimp with heads. Next, cut the carcasses in half lengthwise to clean out the insides - dark stripes inside each shrimp. Let's fry the shrimp. To do this, first heat the oil. Add a few sprigs of thyme and let the oil soak in the scent. Then move the thyme sprigs to the side and continue frying our tiger prawns in oil.
  2. This must be done quickly so that the shrimp do not become hard. This is what you should end up with:
  3. Boil the pasta. In boiling water in the amount of 2-3 liters, add ½ tbsp. spoons of salt and lower the pasta. It is better to lower the paste evenly so that it does not break and retains its shape.
  4. Cook the pasta for the number of minutes indicated on the package until al dente. In this state, the pasta is ready, but quite hard and not cooked. Usually the package indicates the correct time, which is better to take into account and not to overcook the pasta, otherwise it will be very soft. Drain the pasta in a colander and then return it to the pan, adding 1 teaspoon of olive oil. This will allow the paste to be fragrant and acquire real taste!
  5. Let's move on to making the sauce. First, let's prepare all the ingredients, which we will chop finely. Reddish onions, tomatoes, garlic, olives, parsley and basil. Something like this:
  6. Let's prepare the sauce - one of the most basic components of any tasty pasta. Heat the oil, add cloves of garlic, then thyme, so that the oil absorbs the smell. After a couple of minutes they can be pulled out. This is completely enough for the smell.
  7. Now put finely chopped reddish onion in a frying pan and fry it for 3-4 minutes over medium heat. Add finely chopped tomatoes. Then olives, cut into rings and, finally, greens.
  8. Everything is almost ready. All that's left is to add the shrimp. Leave a few shrimp, 2-3 pieces, to put on each serving of pasta before serving. Finely grate the Parmesan to sprinkle on top of our pasta.
  9. Place pasta on serving plates. Carefully, in a circle, trying to make a nest for the sauce. Then add the sauce. And on top there are a few shrimp and parsley and basil. Sprinkle with Parmesan and our pasta is ready!

    I often cook pasta in creamy sauce with shrimp because I love shrimp. One of my favorite shrimp dishes, which is prepared very quickly. Now I used tagliatelle, but it could be any type of pasta. From time to time I add other seafood. In this recipe I added mussel meat. I used boiled-frozen mussels, and fresh-frozen shrimp.

    Let's prepare the products. Shrimp and mussel meat must be defrosted in advance (preferably in the refrigerator), no matter what kind of pasta, garlic, salt, spices, cream and butter. I took the shrimp unpeeled, but without heads.

    Shrimps must be cleared from the food tract, and mussels from the remains of aquatic plants, if any.

    Boil the pasta according to the instructions on the package. But it’s better to check the readiness 2-3 minutes earlier than what is written on the package. My tagliatelle should have cooked for 5 minutes, but 4 minutes was enough. My pasta is yellow because it contains pumpkin in the dough.

    First, fry the shrimp in oil. As the shrimp begin to turn pink, add the mussels. And warm everything up for 1 minute.

    Transfer seafood from pan to plate. Little salt.

    Crush the garlic, peel and fry slightly in oil. Then add cream, spices, and salt to taste. Remove the garlic and cook the cream over very low heat until thickened. Don't let the cream boil.

    Once the sauce thickens, add pasta and seafood. Mix everything and heat everything together for 1 minute.

    Pasta with tiger prawns and mussels in creamy sauce is ready. Let's serve right away. It's great to sprinkle this pasta with Parmesan when serving. But unfortunately I didn’t have it now.)
