    This hearty dish is prepared very quickly, and the most important thing is satisfying and cheap! Chicken legs accompanied by an onion roll made from choux pastry!

    4 chicken legs

    2 tablespoons of tomato sauce (I used 8 slices of frozen tomatoes instead of sauce)

    0.5 tsp salt

    1 bay leaf, peppercorns

    ROLL

    0.5 cups boiling water

    0.5 tsp salt

    In a deep frying pan, fry 500 g of chopped onion (until golden brown, but soft and moist).
    Strain off the oil. Cut the chicken into pieces and add salt.
    Add oil to the frying pan, heat over high heat and place chicken pieces in one layer.
    When the pieces are browned on the underside (after about 1 minute), turn them over to the other side.

    Finely chop 3 onions, add to the fried pieces of chicken, reduce heat, stir, add a little water.
    Cover the pan with a lid and simmer the chicken until cooked.
    While it's stewing, prepare the onion roll.

    ROLL:
    In a bowl - 0.5 cups of flour and salt. Pour in 0.5 cups of boiling water and stir. When the mixture has cooled slightly, add the rest of the flour and knead the dough. (Add a little flour as needed.)

    The unleavened choux pastry is very tender and soft and rolls out perfectly.
    Cover the dough and let it rest for 5

    7 minutes.
    Roll out the dough, add a layer of fried onions and roll into a roll. Cut the roll into slices 1.5 wide

    Remove chicken pieces from the pan.
    Cover the chicken so that it does not have time to cool. As needed, add hot water to the pan so that there is a 1.5 cm layer. Add tomato sauce.

    STEWED CHICKEN WITH DOUGH ROLLS WITH ONION FILLING

    For the test

    How much flour will the dough take?

    Onions – 4 medium pieces

    Chicken legs (I have boneless) 1kg-1kg200g

    Salt and pepper the chicken thighs and fry in butter + vegetable oil 1:1 until golden brown.

    Knead the dough from water, eggs, salt and flour, like for noodles. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, 2-3 mm wide, grease the layer with vegetable oil, spread finely chopped onions on the surface, add salt and a little pepper,

    Roll it into a roll, cut the roll into pieces, as in the photo.

    First place the chicken in a thick-walled pan, add 2-3 bay leaves, 3-5 peppercorns, place dough rolls on top.

    Pour boiling water so that the water covers the rolls, close the lid and put on the fire, when it boils, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 7-10 minutes. If desired, sprinkle the finished dish with herbs.
