Puff pastries with apples from ready-made puff pastry: 5 recipes

I am glad to welcome you, dear readers of the blog! Every housewife will certainly have simple and delicious recipes to pamper their children. One of my son’s favorite desserts is apple puffs. That’s why I cook them often. This is truly a very tasty delicacy, easy to make and does not take much time. Especially if you use ready-made puff pastry. When the pies are baking, their smell makes the house even warmer and more comfortable

Choose the dough recipe at your discretion. Or, like me, buy ready-made. It can be either yeast or yeast-free. When baked, the outer portion rises 2-3 times and becomes very fluffy and airy. Pies made from yeast dough also come out flaky, but they hold their shape better.

Remove frozen dough from the freezer 30 minutes before baking. Or leave it on a cutting board in the evening, covering it with a towel to prevent a dry crust from forming.

If you have absolutely no time, use the microwave to defrost. And the fastest and most unique method is to create puff pastries from lavash. Also choose apples to your own taste. For sour types of sugar you will need a little more. And in combination with cinnamon it’s just perfect, but you can use vanilla or cardamom. Mix apple filling with banana, cottage cheese and other fruits - it will be delicious. And not so long ago I baked an apple pie with bananas. The pieces instantly disappeared from the plate. And the household sat satisfied and well-fed

What we will need:

  • ready-made yeast dough - 400-500 g;
  • apples - 2-3 pcs. (600 g);
  • butter - 50 g;
  • sugar - 100 g;
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp;
  • lemon juice - 1 tsp;
  • egg for lubrication.

One package of puff pastry yields 8-12 small pies.

How to bake puff pastries with apples in the oven

  1. The dough must be removed from the freezer before production and completely defrosted. Why do we take it out of the package? If these are plates, lay them out separately on a cutting board, and be sure to cover them with film or a plastic bag. This way we will protect the surface from drying out and the future formation of ugly cracks.
  2. In the meantime, you can prepare the filling for the pies and it will have time to cool. Peel the apples, cut out the core, and cut into small cubes. The number of apples depends on their size. 2 large ones are more than enough. You may need three small ones.
  3. Put oil in a frying pan, put it on the stove, heat it.
  4. When the butter melts, add the apples.
  5. Sprinkle them with sugar and cinnamon, pour in lemon juice.
  6. Simmer over moderate heat until soft. Production time depends on the variety. We need them soft, but not boiled into mush.
  7. When the dough has melted, let the apples cool slightly so that it is comfortable to work with the insides, sprinkle the work surface with flour and begin to roll out the dough. The puff pastry must be rolled out only strictly in one direction to a thickness of 2-3 mm, so as not to disturb the layers. Otherwise, the finished pies will not have that magical layering as we would like.
  8. We cut the rolled out rectangle into 4-6 pieces, depending on the size of the pies you want to get.
  9. Place 1-1.5 tablespoons of apples on one side of the workpiece. When scooping apples, try to drain the juice from the inside. It's redundant for now, but will be needed later. On the 2nd side we make cuts with a knife, slightly short of the middle and edge, as shown in the photo below.
  10. Cover the apple half with the cut half.
  11. Take a fork and seal the edges by pressing the tines onto both layers of dough. First in one direction, then in the 2nd.
  12. Place the puff pastry blanks on a baking sheet lined with baking paper or a silicone mat. If you are baking with yeast dough, cover the pies with a kitchen towel and let them rest for 15 minutes. If made without yeast, then they can be immediately greased with lightly beaten with a fork and 1 tbsp. water with an egg and bake. Yeast puff pastries are brushed with egg a couple of minutes before removing from the oven. Otherwise, the glossy crust formed by the eggs will not allow them to grow to the required extent.
  13. Bake in an oven preheated to 200 degrees until light golden brown. Don't forget to brush the yeast pies with egg!
  14. Remove from the oven, do not rush to remove from the baking sheet.
  15. We still have juice from stewing apples, it is sweet from sugar and fragrant from cinnamon. Take a silicone brush and grease the baked pies with this juice.

All is ready! You can pour tea and finally let the family go into the kitchen.

Having mastered the basic recipe for making puff pastries with apple inside, you can constantly vary them by adding additional ingredients to the filling. Pies with apples and lingonberries are not bad, you just need more sugar. They turn out to be the most significant if you also put cottage cheese inside. Ideas can continue to be given ad infinitum, the choice is yours.

Step-by-step recipe with photos

Puff pastry is a versatile product that is used to make any kind of sweet and savory baked goods: rolls, pies, tarts, pastries, pies, puff pastries, etc. The dough can be prepared at home or purchased ready-made. I would like to offer you a simple and fast method of making savory puff pastries with apples from store-bought puff pastry without yeast.

Prepare the necessary ingredients for apple puff pastries.

Wash the lemon. Using a small grater, remove the lemon zest. Squeeze out the juice.

Wash the apples, peel and core them, cut into thin slices.

Dissolve sugar in water, pour the sweet water into a saucepan and put on fire. Add apples, lemon zest, juice and a few fresh mint leaves to the syrup. After boiling, cook over low heat for 1.5-2 minutes. Then drain the syrup, remove the mint, and cool the apples. The syrup can be used in compote or jelly.

Roll out the dough into a narrow layer and cut into strips 5 cm wide and 15 cm long. If you use frozen puff pastry, it must be defrosted at room temperature in advance. Place apples on the dough.

Roll up to form rolls.

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Cover a baking sheet with parchment. Place the puff pastries on a baking sheet, seam side down, and bake for about 15-20 minutes. Then brush with yolks and bake for another 3-5 minutes.

Cool the finished apple puff pastries and sprinkle with sweet powder before serving.

Puff pastries with fried apples

Sweet pastries are a constant attribute of home tea drinking. The recipe in which I will tell you how to make apple puff pastries from puff pastry dough in a frying pan will help you quickly feed your family something delicious. We will use ready-made dough, so we won’t need time to make it. All we have to do is defrost it and create the apple filling. It's all very simple! I just had 2.5 layers left from a 500 gram pack (there are 4 pieces in a whole pack), from which 5 amazingly tasty puffs came out. I write the recipe for 250 grams of dough. So, let's get started) Puff pastries made from puff pastry dough in a frying pan

  • Yeast puff pastry 250 g
  • Apples 2 pcs.
  • Sugar 2 tbsp.
  • Lemon juice 1 tbsp.
  • Vegetable oil 30 g

Wash the apples, remove the core and cut into small cubes. Place them in a small container, sprinkle with lemon juice to prevent them from darkening, and sprinkle with sugar. Mix. It is better to eat sweet and sour apples so that the inside does not become cloying.

We defrost the dough at room temperature, but not too much, just to make it pliable. We cut it into equal squares, the size of which will determine the size of the pies. If you have dough in layers, then divide each one in half.

We lightly roll any square with a rolling pin in all directions, increasing its size and making it as narrow as possible. Place the filling in the middle.

We fold the reverse edges towards each other and pinch them tightly, and also make two side seams. You can form a triangle by folding the workpiece in half and connecting the opposite ends, and pinch the seams.

We use all the dough and all the filling.

Heat refined vegetable oil in a frying pan. Place the pieces and fry on one side over medium heat for about 3-4 minutes. They should be perfectly browned. The dough is thin, so they will fry quickly.

Turn over and fry for another 2-3 minutes. Remove the finished pies from the pan and fry the next batch.

Our soft pies with juicy apple inside are ready! Agree, this is very fast, as I promised. Enjoy your tea!

I recommend making apple puff pastry from puff pastry in a frying pan and saving a lot of time and effort. Previously, I only baked this dough, but it tastes even better fried! Don't take my words, but rather check it in reality. I look forward to your feedback in the comments!
