Unusual recipes for salads with sprats
Welcome to the pages of my blog. If you haven’t read the beginning of the story about how you had to find a delicious recipe for sprat salad only because someone happened to have a lot of jars of a product that was scarce at that time, then read about it here.
There is not only the beginning of the story, but also a decent selection of recipes for sandwiches with sprats. And in this article we’ll deal with salads. Everything here is simple, as it turns out. In general, read it and see for yourself.

Salad recipe where sprats can be replaced with saury
Ingredients for 4 servings:
- Salt to taste
- Mayonnaise 3 tablespoons
- Canned green peas 1 can
- Onion 1 piece
- Carrot 1 piece
- Pickled cucumbers 2 pieces
- Chicken eggs 3 pieces
- Sprats 1 jar
- Snow white bread
How it all happens:
- First prepare the crackers. Cut half the loaf into small cubes and dry well in the oven. Once it cools down, pour in canned oil, stir, and toss in for soaking.
- Cut eggs, cucumbers, a small onion into small cubes, add green peas, grated boiled carrots.
- Mash the sprats, mix with crackers and the prepared mixture of eggs and vegetables, add a little salt, and season with mayonnaise.
- Serve immediately so that the crackers do not have time to lose their crispness.
An unusual and very tasty sprat salad
Ingredients for 4 servings:
- Anise (star anise) 2 pieces
- Sprats 100 g
- Quail eggs 8 pieces
- Beetroot 2 pieces
- Turnip 2 pieces
- Greenish salad 20 g
- Reddish wine vinegar 50 ml
- Vegetable oil 30 ml
- Olive oil 30 ml
- Grainy mustard 1 tablespoon
- Rosemary 10 g
- Onion peel 20 g
- Boil quail eggs for 5 minutes in boiling water with the addition of wine vinegar, rosemary, star anise and reddish onion peels. Then remove the eggs from the broth, peel them and put them back into the cooling broth to marinate and get a reddish-red color.
- Sprinkle beets and turnips with vegetable oil. Wrap the root vegetables in foil and place in the oven for 40 minutes, preheated to 190 degrees, then remove, cool, peel and cut into small cubes.
- Mix mustard (with whole grains) with olive oil and chopped vegetables. Place them on a plate, top with halves of pickled quail eggs, sprats and a little green lettuce with small leaves - spinach or watercress.
Sprat salad “Ancient Riga”
Ingredients:
- Sprats 160 g
- Canned green peas 200 g
- Cucumbers 2 pieces
- Chicken eggs 2 pieces
- Rice 2 cups
- Mayonnaise 150 g
- Chopped dill 1 tablespoon
Procedure:
- Cut the cucumbers into slices, boiled eggs into slices.
- Cut the sprats, leaving some for decoration.
- Mix rice with peas, herbs and chopped sprats.
Place rice, chopped cucumbers, eggs in a salad bowl and pour over mayonnaise. Garnish the salad with the remaining sprats and herbs.
Cheese salad with sprats
Ingredients for 4 servings:
- Sprats 250 g
- Cheese 150 g
- Cucumbers 200 g
- Onion 50 g
- Dill 1 bunch
- Mayonnaise to taste
- Salt to taste
- Chicken eggs 3 pieces
- Canned corn 100 g
Subsequence:
- Boil the eggs and grate on a small grater.
- Cut the cheese and cucumbers into small cubes.
- Grind the sprats in a blender until smooth.
- Finely chop the onion and dill.
- Mix everything, season with mayonnaise and salt.
Instead of mayonnaise, you can season the salad with olive oil and a drop of lemon juice.
Baltic salad
Ingredients 1 serving:
- Potatoes 2 pieces
- Cucumbers 2 pieces
- Cherry tomatoes 6 pieces
- Olives to taste
- Greenish lettuce 2 bunches
- Ground dark pepper to taste
- Salt to taste
- Olive oil 100 g
- Wine vinegar 1 tablespoon
- Sprats 160 g
- Quail egg 5 pieces
How it happens:
- Boil potatoes and quail eggs. Cool. Clean. Cut potatoes and cucumbers into cubes, eggs and tomatoes into halves.
- Open the sprats. The most ideal variety is Riga Gold. So, having opened the sprats, drain the oil.
- In a salad bowl, mix the mix: salads, olives, chopped eggs and vegetables.
Salt, pepper, season with olive-vinegar sauce. Add sprats and mix gently.
A simple salad recipe with an unexpected combination of goods
Ingredients for 2 servings:
- Sugar 1 teaspoon
- Lemons 1 piece
- Sprats 1 jar
- Hard cheese 50 g
Recipe:
Place a jar of sprat on the fish bowl, sprinkle with sugar. Grate the cheese on a medium-sized grater, sprinkle with sprats, and spread mayonnaise on top.
Peel the lemon (if it’s narrow, you don’t have to peel it), cut it into half rings and place it on the salad.
A simple sprat analogue of Mimosa
Right away the recipe :
Layer out layers of boiled carrots, grated on a small grater. Above we place butter, frozen in shavings. Next are grated potatoes, pickled and finely chopped onions, sprats, grated eggs. Grated cheese on top of everything.
By the way, you can use regular sausage cheese here - it turns out great.
Coat the entire pile with mayonnaise and decorate. For beauty, this salad usually uses olives and greens - parsley and green onions.

It turns out that sprats make not only delicious croutons, but also amazing salads. They are prepared very quickly and simply, but they turn out incredibly tasty and beautiful. In addition, nowadays sprats are not a disadvantage; they can be purchased in any store at a reasonable price.
This product is useful for the human brain (the central part of the nervous system of animals and humans) , therefore it is recommended to use it when it is necessary for it to work very intensively. Sprats mix well with any vegetables and herbs, which makes the salad even more healthy. Sprat salad is not only a tasty and original, but also a very satisfying dish. Now we will share with you different recipes for such a salad.
Salad with cheese
- sprats – 200 g
- cheese – 100 g
- garlic – 3 cloves
- potatoes – 3 pcs.
- eggs – 3 pcs.
- salt - a pinch
- mayonnaise – 50 g
- parsley – 3-5 sprigs
Mash the sprats with a fork. mix with crushed garlic and mayonnaise. Place the canned food in the first layer in a salad bowl. Next we will add grated potatoes, salted and greased with mayonnaise. 3rd layer – grated eggs. The outermost layer is grated cheese. We decorate the salad with a mayonnaise mesh, parsley and one large sprat, which we place in the center of the salad.
Avocado boat salad
- sprats – 1 jar
- avocado – 2 pcs.
- onion – 1 pc.
- lemon –. PC.
- eggs – 2 pcs.
- mayonnaise – 2 tbsp. spoons
Cut along the avocado. remove the seeds. Thus, we get 4 boats. We make small cuts inside each and pour lemon juice over it. Chop onions and boiled eggs, fill with avocado with this consistency. Place half a tablespoon of mayonnaise and 2 sprats on top.
Salad with croutons, tomatoes and sprats
- tomatoes – 3 pcs.
- sprats – 200 g
- snow-white crackers – 100 g
- mayonnaise – 2-3 tbsp. spoons
- garlic – 3-5 cloves
Drain the excess oil from the sprats and cut them into small pieces. Mix them with crackers. chopped garlic and tomato slices. Add a little mayonnaise and serve immediately so that the salad is crispy.
Salad with sprats, prunes and apples
- apples – 4 pcs.
- sprats – 200 g
- eggs – 4-5 pcs.
- onions – 2 pcs.
- potatoes – 2 pcs.
- prunes – 50 g
- nuts – 1-2 tbsp. spoons
- mayonnaise – 50 g
- vegetable oil – 15 ml
Three apples, boiled eggs and potatoes on a large grater. Chop the onion and fry in vegetable oil, add it to the rest of the products. Finely chop the sprats or simply crush them with a fork. Cut the prunes into small pieces, grind the nuts in a blender or meat grinder.
Vegetable salad with sprats
- canned green peas – 200 g
- carrots – 2 pcs.
- pickles – 5 pcs.
- sprats – 2 cans
- canned corn – 200 g
- reddish onion – 1 pc.
- greens – 50 g
- cherry tomatoes – 5-7 pcs.
- beets – 1 pc.
- mayonnaise – 100 g
- lettuce leaves - 1 bunch
Place lettuce leaves on a plate. Grate boiled beets, potatoes and carrots. It’s better not to cook the vegetables too long so that they don’t all fall apart. Chop reddish onions, cucumbers and greens. Mix all the products with crushed sprats, peas and corn. Season with mayonnaise and decorate with cherry tomato halves.
Pasta salad with sprats
- pasta – 300 g
- sprats – 1 jar
- table vinegar – 1 teaspoon
- mustard – 1 teaspoon
- dill – 1 bunch
- eggs – 3 pcs.
Cut the sprats into pieces, boil the pasta and eggs. Mix everything together and pour over the sauce. To make it, mix sprat oil with vinegar, mustard and chopped dill.
Solemn salad with sprats and sausage
- smoked sausage – 100 g
- sprats – 200 g
- canned snow-white and reddish beans – 200 g
- crackers – 50 g
- olives – 100 g
- apple – 1 pc.
- onions – 1 pc.
- mayonnaise – 2 tbsp. spoons
Cut the smoked sausage into small cubes. crush the sprats with a fork. Chop the apple and onion into very small cubes. Add canned beans, crackers and olives. Season the salad with mayonnaise.
Sea salad with sprats
- sea cabbage – 20 g
- crab sticks – 10 g
- sprats – 200 g
- eggs – 2 pcs.
- green onion – 20 g
- Lemon mayonnaise – 3 tbsp. spoons
Finely chop the seaweed, crab sticks, eggs, sprats and onions. Mix everything with mayonnaise. If there is no lemon juice, then you can simply add a few drops of lemon juice.
Baltic salad
- arugula – 50 g
- Iceberg lettuce – 50 g
- quail eggs – 5 pcs.
- sprats – 1 jar
- Cherry tomatoes – 5 pcs.
- cucumbers – 2 pcs.
- olive oil – 3 tbsp. spoons
- wine vinegar - 1 tbsp. spoon
Mix greens, cucumbers and tomatoes in a salad bowl. Add halves of quail eggs and whole sprat eggs. Mix vinegar with oil and pour this juice over the salad.
Salad with lemon and sprats
- lemon – 1 pc.
- sugar – 5 g
- sprats – 1 jar
- hard cheese – 100 g
- greens - for decoration
- mayonnaise – 1 tbsp. spoon
Place sprats on a dish, sprinkle with sugar and grated cheese. We make a narrow mesh of mayonnaise. Peel the lemon and cut it into half rings. We spread them beautifully on grated cheese.
Salad with rice and sprats
- rice – 200 g
- canned peas – 100 g
- sprats – 200 g
- greenish salad – 50 g
- ground pepper - a pinch
- mayonnaise – 10 g
Place lettuce leaves, rice, peas and sprats in layers on a dish. Lightly sprinkle the salad with ground pepper and pour over mayonnaise.
Old Riga salad with sprats
- rice – 1 cup
- eggs – 2 pcs.
- pickled cucumbers – 2 pcs.
- pickled onions – 1 pc.
- sprats – 1 jar
- dill – 20g
- light mayonnaise – 3 tbsp. spoons
Cut eggs and cucumbers into slices, add pickled onion rings, chopped sprats and chopped dill. Mix everything with mayonnaise and place it on top of the rice.
Salad with melted cheese and sprats
- tomato – 2-3 pcs.
- sprats – 1 jar
- processed cheese – 2 pcs.
- green onions – 1 bunch
- garlic – 2 cloves
Mash the sprats with a fork, grate the processed cheese, cut the tomatoes into slices, and pass the garlic through a press. Lay out in layers: sprats, cheese, tomatoes and garlic. Drizzle everything lightly with canned oil and sprinkle with green onions.
Smoked fish salad and sprat
- sprats – 1 jar
- smoked fish – 100 g
- potatoes – 5 pcs.
- boiled peas – 100 g
- pickled cucumbers – 3 pcs.
- dill – 50 g
- lemon –. PC.
Chop finely smoked fish and sprats. Add grated potatoes and cucumber slices. Sprinkle the salad with chopped dill and garnish with lemon slices. Drizzle the salad with sprat oil.
Sprats under a fur coat
- sprats – 1 jar
- potatoes – 2 pcs.
- eggs – 2 pcs.
- onion – 1 pc.
- beets – 1 pc.
- mayonnaise – 50 g
- dill and parsley – 20 g
- vinegar - 2 tbsp. spoons
- sugar – 1 teaspoon
Marinate onion half rings in vinegar and sugar. Place grated boiled potatoes in a herring bowl and coat with light mayonnaise. Next we put the sprats; if desired, you can crush them with a fork. Later we sprinkle them with pickled onions and grated eggs. We also grease them with mayonnaise and sprinkle with grated boiled beets. Decorate with sprigs of dill and parsley.
Stuffed crab sticks with sprat salad
- crab sticks – 10 pcs.
- sprats – 10 pcs.
- green onion – 50 g
- eggs – 2 pcs.
- lettuce salad – 30 g
- dill – 20 g
- hard cheese – 50 g
First we make a salad, which we will later wrap in crab sticks. Three eggs and cheese on a grater, finely chop the lettuce, crush the sprats. Season the mixture with mayonnaise. Unwrap the crab sticks and fill them with salad, wrap them again. Decorate with dill sprigs. Place the sticks on top of the greenish lettuce leaves.
Salad with cheese and sprats
- Salted cheese – 200 g
- sprats – 200 g
- green onion – 50 g
- pickled cucumbers – 2 pcs.
- low-fat mayonnaise – 3-4 tbsp. spoons
- spices and dry herbs – 1 teaspoon
Three cheese cheese grated. mix it with chopped onions and chopped sprats. We season everything with mayonnaise mixed with spices and herbs. Decorate with whole fish and pickled cucumbers, cut into small cubes.
Salad with eggplants and sprats
- sprats – 200 g
- eggplants – 2 pcs.
- garlic – 1 head
- eggs – 3 pcs.
- walnuts – 50 g
- tomato – 1 pc.
- mayonnaise – 2-3 tbsp. spoons
- greens - for decoration
Cut the eggplants into cubes. soak in salt water. We bake them in the oven or fry them in a frying pan. Mix eggplants with garlic, passed through a press. Add grated eggs and chopped sprats. Season the salad with mayonnaise, sprinkle with nuts, previously crushed or passed through a press. Cut the tomato into thin slices and place on top of the salad. Decorate the dish with herbs. You can use dill with parsley, cilantro or green onions.
