Step-by-step recipe with photos

If you have yogurt left unused, then you can use it to make a juicy and fragrant pie - manna. The dessert will turn out not only appetizing and fragrant, but also very satisfying, because it is prepared using semolina, which is why it received this name. I had two types of yogurt available: traditional and strawberry of different fat content, but you don’t have to stick to this list - pour in any yogurt, the main thing is that there is 250 ml of it. I just had these ingredients left in the refrigerator and I decided to put them to work.

The most important advice is to soak the semolina in yogurt for at least 40 minutes, or even more! If you reduce the swelling time for semolina, it will settle in a dense lump to the bottom and you will not end up with a baked pie, but, accordingly, a complete transfer of goods. And one more thing: manna must be baked at a low temperature for a long time. Do not increase the temperature under any circumstances, even if you do not have free time! Otherwise, you will end up with a golden-brown pie on all sides and an unbaked viscous mass on the inside.

So, prepare the necessary ingredients to make manna with yogurt in the oven and let’s start cooking!

Pour yogurt into a deep bowl or salad bowl, add semolina, mix thoroughly and leave to swell for at least 40-60 minutes.

Once the indicated time has passed, pour salt and sweet sand into the container and stir thoroughly.

Beat the chicken eggs separately for about 2-3 minutes.

Pour into a container with semolina mass, stir again.

Add premium wheat flour and baking powder. Stir in without forming lumps. Pour in vegetable oil at the end and stir. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.

Grease the mold with vegetable oil, pour the prepared dough into it and place in a preheated oven for 40-50 minutes. The baking time for manna directly depends on the diameter of the mold. The larger the shape, the shorter the cake will be and the faster it will bake.

Remove the finished manna with yogurt from the oven and be sure to let it cool to room temperature, and then carefully transfer it to a plate.

  • vegetable oil – 100 g;
  • testicle – 3 pcs.;
  • baking powder - 5 g;
  • vanillin – 1 g;
  • salt - a pinch.

Baking pan diameter: 22 cm.

Preparation time: 1 hour 15 minutes.

Production time: 45-60 min.

  1. Mix yogurt with semolina. Let the semolina brew for at least an hour. This particular step guarantees a loose crumbly quality in the finished baked goods.
  2. Mix semolina in yogurt with other ingredients. The mass will turn out liquid.
  3. Place the dough into a greased baking dish or frying pan. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 45-60 minutes. During this period of time, the manna will slowly bake and brown. At the highest temperature and shortest baking time, the center may remain raw.
  4. Allow the finished manna to stand for 20 minutes. And only after this remove it from the mold.

Manna cooked with yogurt can be eaten warm or cooled.

Mannik on yogurt in a slow cooker

  • semolina – 1 tbsp*;
  • drinking yoghurt – 1 tbsp*;
  • sweet sand – 0.5-1 tbsp*;
  • eggs – 3 pcs.;
  • baking powder – 2 tsp;
  • candied fruits or other filler (optional).

Quantity: 4-8 servings.

Preparation time: 30 min.

Production time: 1 hour 20 minutes.

  1. Combine yogurt and semolina.
  2. Stir in sugar and eggs. The dough will be medium thick and fluid. If you run a spoon over its surface, the sketch will quickly disappear. Let stand for at least 15 minutes: if the cereal is not sufficiently saturated with moisture, the dish may not bake.
  3. Add baking powder and candied fruits. Mix.
  4. Place the dough into a greased bowl and bake in the multicooker with the lid closed on the “Baking” mode for an hour.
  5. After the sound signal, you cannot open the lid - you should wait another 20 minutes, after which you should remove the bowl and remove the baked goods.

Mannik can be eaten right away, or you can let it cool.

It remains to add that you can add filler to the mixture for baking semolina pie: raisins, dried apricots, pieces of pineapple, banana slices - with this you can vary your favorite recipe and enrich the delicacy with its usefulness. You can decorate the dessert with coconut shavings or simply sprinkle with sweet powder.

PS
You should not be confused by the fact that yogurt does not have a pronounced kefir sourness, suitable for reaction with soda when kneading the dough. In manna we achieve splendor due to the greatest swelling of semolina.

Remember that during baking the cake will rise, so often opening the oven is not better, otherwise it will settle.

  2. In order for the finished dessert to simply be removed from the baking sheet, it must be greased with butter in advance and crushed with cereal.
  3. To add additional flavor to the dough, you can add fruits, berries, pieces of pumpkin, crushed chocolate, honey, poppy seeds, pieces of dried or candied fruits.
  4. For juiciness, manna can be soaked in rum, cognac or syrup, coated with jam or sour cream whipped with sugar, and topped with fudge or condensed milk.
  5. In order to improve the appearance, the dessert should be decorated with berries and fruits, sprinkled with sweet powder or sprinkled with chocolate chips.
