Pie with egg and rice in the oven: grandma's recipe
Baking, which takes a minimum of time, is a real find for those who love delicious food. A pie with egg and rice bakes very quickly in the oven; to make it you will need ingredients that can be found in every kitchen, and the taste and smell will not leave anyone indifferent.
The smell of pies is associated with childhood, a comfortable kitchen, a home-cooked dinner - the most beautiful memoirs. It is absolutely easy to create tea parties with classic pies in your family. To make a pie with egg and rice insides, you don’t need any special skills or exotic products. Moreover, you can change the filling to your own taste, and the pie will not suffer in any way.
List of required ingredients
- To make the dough you need:
- 3 testicles;
- 1 tbsp. wheat flour;
- 3 tbsp. l. potato starch;
- ½ tbsp. kefir;
- 100 g mayonnaise;
- soda and salt, ½ tsp each.
- For the interior you will need:
- 100 g rice. It is better to take short grain rice;
- 1 onion;
- 3 testicles;
- salt, spices.
Manufacturing method
Option 1. Drink
You need to start making the pie from the inside. Place the rice in a deep bowl and wash it a couple of times in cool water so that the water remains clean. In this way, the starch is washed out, and the rice will not boil over during the cooking process.
- Place the rice cereal in a saucepan and add cool water in a ratio of 1:3, add salt to taste and place on the stove. At first, the fire should be quite powerful, the rice must be stirred so that it does not stick to the bottom and walls of the pan. As soon as the water boils, turn down the heat and cover the pan tightly with a heavy lid. Until cooked (20-25 minutes), the rice does not need to be opened or stirred. In the standard, all the water is absorbed or evaporated, but the rice, removed from the heat, should stand under the lid for another 10-15 minutes.
- In another pan you need to hard boil 3 eggs. After 10 minutes after boiling, remove the eggs from the heat and add cool water (this will make them easier to peel). Then peel and grate on a large grater.
- Peel the onion and chop finely. Pour oil into a heated frying pan and fry the onion in it until golden brown, then add the grated eggs to the frying pan and fry with the onion for 2-3 minutes.
- Mix the cooled rice with onions and eggs in a deep bowl, add salt and dark pepper, cover it with cling film so that the inside does not dry out, and start making the dough.
- Break the eggs into a deep bowl, pour in the drink, mix well, add mayonnaise. Mix soda, starch and salt in a separate bowl and pour into the bowl with the dough. There is no need to extinguish soda with vinegar; fermented milk drink will act as a neutralizer.
- Sift the flour through a sieve and add in small portions, constantly stirring the dough. Once it reaches a mixture of thick sour cream, the process can be stopped. The amount of flour may vary depending on the thickness of kefir.
Preheat the oven to 200 0 C. Grease the heated pan with vegetable oil, pour half of the dough into it. Place the filling on the dough, then pour in the other half of the dough. After 40 minutes, check the readiness of the pie with a toothpick.
Option 2. Milk
The dough can be prepared differently. To make it you need:
- 1 tbsp. milk;
- ½ tbsp. water;
- salt, soda and sugar, ½ tsp each;
- 1 tbsp. l. vegetable oil;
- 500-600 g wheat flour.
For contrast, add green onions, not onions, to the filling.
- Mix milk with water, add bulk ingredients and vegetable oil. Sift the flour through a sieve and add it in small portions, kneading the dough. It should turn out cool, quite elastic, and not stick to your hands.
- For the inside, boil the rice and grate the eggs on a large grater. Wash and finely chop the onion, then add to the filling. Mix all ingredients and lightly add salt.
- Grease the mold with vegetable oil and lay out one part (huge) of dough, rolling it into a layer. It is necessary to form a “box” from the dough into which the inside is laid out. The second part is also rolled out and becomes a “lid”. The upper and lower parts must be pinched perfectly.
- Bake at a temperature of 180-200 0 C for 40 minutes.
A pie with rice and egg bakes very quickly in the oven. The proposed filling can be replaced with any other - potato, mushroom, meat, vegetable, sweet.

THE MOST DELICATE PIE WITH RICE AND EGG, TASTY AND SIMPLE!
I found this recipe quite a long time ago in a women’s magazine, and it immediately attracted me with its simplicity and availability of ingredients. But I still couldn’t get around to cooking it. Now I’ve finally decided to bake this pie – it turned out to be a no-brainer for Sunday lunch. Therefore, I hasten to share with you a recipe that even a novice housewife can handle.
I prepared everything exactly as described - with rice and egg insides.
But after trying it, I realized how the dough turns out to be suitable for everyone. It seems to me that it is suitable for any savory interior - meat, chicken, mushroom, etc. Therefore, in the future I will certainly use it for other pies. To make a pie for 6-8 people, the following ingredients will be useful:
for dough:
eggs – 3 pcs.
flour – 200 g
starch – 50 g
drink – 100 g
mayonnaise – 100 g
soda – 0.5 teaspoon
salt – 0.5 teaspoon
for the inside:
rice cereal – 100 g
onion – 1 large or 2 small
boiled eggs – 3 pcs.
salt and pepper - to taste
Difficulty: low.
Production time: about 2 hours.
Chop the onion finely and fry until golden brown.
Hearty pie with rice and egg cooked in the oven, not using yeast dough
Almost not long ago, they showed a culinary note on TV where they prepared this hearty pie with rice and egg . I immediately liked that the recipe is very easy to make and has a completely accessible composition of ingredients.
The dough for this pie is suitable for all recipes that require a savory interior. I recommend in the future that everyone use the recipe for the test depending on the inside, be it fish or chicken.
For production you will need:
- Chicken egg - 3 pcs.
- Flour - 1 heaped glass.
- Starch - 1 tbsp.
- Drink -100 ml.
- Mayonnaise - 1 tbsp.
- Salt and soda 0.5 teaspoon each.
For the interior you will need:
- Boiled eggs - 3 pcs.
- Rice -100 gr.
- Onion - 1 pc.
- Salt and pepper to taste.
Because our dough is not yeast, we’ll prepare the filling first. Boil the rice until done. Previously, we wash it in several waters, then fill it with cool, slightly salted water, and cook until tender. There is no need to stir the rice at all, it will absorb all the water and will be crumbly and tasty. It is important to choose the right ratio of water and cereal. For 1.5 cups of water, 1 cup of rice.
Peel the onion, cut into half rings, fry in vegetable oil until golden brown. We peel the boiled eggs, three on a large grater or finely chop. Mix all ingredients, salt and pepper. The inside is ready.
Knead the dough:
To do this, mix eggs, drink and mayonnaise in a deep bowl. Sift the flour through a sieve, add starch and salt. Stir until smooth. The dough should be quite watery, a little thicker than for charlotte.
Place parchment paper on the bottom of the baking dish; I recommend greasing the sides and bottom with vegetable oil. Pour half of the watery dough into the bottom of the mold, then add the filling and cover everything with the remaining layer of dough.
Bake the cake at 180 degrees for about an hour.
A hearty pie with rice and eggs cooked in the oven without yeast dough is ready.
