Pizza cocktail with seafood

Pizza cocktail with seafood

Why our fellow citizens believe that “Marinara” pizza is pizza with seafood is a mystery, shrouded in darkness.

Apparently, an internal fuse is triggered, and a stable association immediately appears: marin - sea. It’s hard to convince anyone that “marinara” is a term that says something completely different.

Once upon a time, long ago, ships set sail for a very long time. A supply of goods that did not deteriorate over time was an important condition for a safe voyage. Therefore, Italian sailors prepared a sauce from the consistency of tomato pulp, pepper, garlic, herbs, and olive oil. The sauce was added to various dishes - pasta, spread on bread, eaten with meat. This sauce was called “marinara” - Salsa Marinara. From time to time, olives, anchovies, and capers were added to the sauce. Due to the acids contained in tomatoes, this sauce did not spoil for a long time.

So marinara pizza (Pizza alla marinara) is very ordinary, just dough, sauce, olives, and from time to time anchovies. Holy simplicity! Like seafood cocktail pizza. It couldn’t be simpler, and fast.

And our usual pizza with seafood is called frutti di mare. That’s how it translates – Pizza with seafood. Along with other pizzas, it is included in the list of traditional Italian recipes. There are several secrets that make pizza with seafood tastier:

    • The edges need to be greased with beaten egg so that they do not dry out and get a beautiful golden color;
    • It is better to stretch the dough rather than roll it out so that it comes out crispy;
    • Before you put the filling on the dough, you should remove the water from the base;
    • The sauce should be spread, not poured, so that the dough does not get wet; excess water will cause the crust to “spread”;
    • The taste and smell of pizza will be given by crushed dry basil leaves;
    • You can create the most special and mustard taste by adding capers to the filling.

    Individual selection of ingredients

    Pizza with seafood seems difficult to almost everyone to make, but this is mainly due to the inability to choose the right ingredients. Seafood must be selected very carefully. They can be frozen or chilled. You should definitely check them for freshness, paying attention to the production date and appearance.

    • 1) The shrimp should not stick together, without lumps. It is better to take them by weight, this way you will be able to more accurately determine their color and smell properties. The shell is flexible and translucent, without aroma. The most delicious shrimp are those caught in the Atlantic Ocean.
    • 2) When choosing squid, pay attention to the time of packaging: the tastiest are those caught in July or August. The meat must be snow-white, without spots.
    • 3) Make sure that the mussel shells are smooth, without cracks or chips, closed, snow-white or light pink. If you use preserves to make pizza, then the brine from them should be one hundred percent transparent.
    • 4) If you don’t want to bother with the dough, you can purchase a ready-made shortbread. The pizza will be low-fat and a little crispy; it will taste similar to the version that is prepared in a cafe. You can use both yeast and non-yeast dough.

    Pizza with seafood is a unique dish, but at the same time it is quite ordinary in preparation. The dough is prepared in the same way as for other types of pizza, but the preparation of the inside differs. First you need to choose the right ingredients, paying attention to their freshness and appearance.

    Pizza with seafood - 5 delicious pizza recipes

    Pizza with seafood is food for real gourmets. Such a snack is necessary, nutritious, warm, with a special taste, and typical, not to everyone’s liking. Its production also differs little from the ordinary one. In particular, it is important to properly boil and prepare seafood so that they retain their softness, elasticity, tenderness, and do not become rubbery.

    Pizza is a quick, nutritious snack. At the moment, there are a large number of companies delivering food to your home, and even more restaurants specializing in its production. But baked with your own hands, it is much tastier, healthier, and more exciting than ready-made, especially since you can adjust the thickness of the dough, the insides, and its composition to your own taste.

    The base may be different, we have already discussed it in a separate article. The entrails are also amusing with their abundance - cheese, meat, vegetables, you name it. In general, you can put whatever you have in the refrigerator or on hand on a shortbread, whatever your heart desires. How to cook seafood pizza at home

    The inhabitants of the aqua abyss are considered one of the most necessary goods: they contain a lot of minerals and protein, vitamins, omega acids and various biochemical compounds that help maintain health and prolong youth. The duet of seafood and dough will quickly satiate the hungry, replenish the supply of essential substances in the body, and at the same time will not threaten a narrow waist and slender figure.

    Ingredients

    Dough:

    The dough for pizza with seafood can be of any kind: it can be kneaded with kefir, mineral water and sour cream, it can be prepared with yeast, or you can simply purchase a ready-made semi-finished product at a nearby hypermarket. But it is better to prepare ordinary yeast-free dough, which will help highlight the narrow taste of the sea cocktail. In addition, it will not increase in volume very much, which can simply “clog” the delicate flavor bouquet of the inside.

    • 1 testicle,
    • 2 tbsp. flour from hard types of wheat,
    • 160 ml milk (you can use ordinary drinking water),
    • 20 ml vegetable oil (preferably olive);
    • salt - to taste (about 3 g).

    But for the inside they are suitable...

    • 200 g frozen sea cocktail,
    • 200 g hard cheese,
    • oregano.

    REFERENCE! Seafood is a powerful aphrodisiac that can awaken the emotionality of both men and women. In addition, their chemical composition has a beneficial effect on male potency, sperm fertility and a woman’s libido.

    5. Roll out the ball into a round layer 2.5 - 3 mm thick.

    IMPORTANT! Experts say that dough stretched by hand rather than rolled out with a rolling pin is even more tender.

    Sauce

    1. We pass the peeled and washed garlic through a press.
    2. Mix olive oil and chopped garlic in a bowl and leave to steep for 30 minutes.

    Innards with frozen seafood

    1. Place a pot of water on the fire and bring to a boil.

    3. Place seafood in boiling water. There is no need to defrost them in advance.
    4. After boiling again, simmer the seafood over low heat for 5-7 minutes.

    ATTENTION! Before placing seafood on the dough, it is necessary to remove the chitinous parts from them.

    Collecting all the pizza

    1. Place the dough on a greased baking sheet.
    2. Lubricate it with sauce.
    3. We spread the cooled and cooked seafood.
    4. Add a little salt, sprinkle with chopped oregano and grated cheese.

    We grate the cheese, drain the brine from a jar of seafood, and cut the tomatoes into halves.

    Distribute the finished dough into a mold previously greased with oil. It needs to be covered with a layer of ketchup and half of the cheese. Place seafood, cherry halves and sauce on top. Add a little salt to everything (to taste), you can add pepper. Marinara

    This pizza is perfect for lovers of Italian classics: tomatoes, mozzarella and Parmesan, oregano, a few olives and... seafood.

    REFERENCE! Marinara is the name of the sauce that became popular among Italian sailors who went to sea for a long time. This sauce was used to smear bread and pour over spaghetti, meat and fish.

    • 400 g pizza dough;
    • 150 g sea cocktail;
    • 1 tomato;
    • 100 g mozzarella;
    • 50 g parmesan;
    • 1 onion;
    • 3 tbsp. l. tomato sauce;
    • several olives;
    • dry oregano and other spices;
    • 1 tbsp. l. grape vinegar;
    • vegetable oil.

    Stretch the dough into a mold greased with vegetable oil, pierce it in several places with a fork and leave for 30 minutes. At this time, boil the seafood (5 minutes). Finely chop the onion and sprinkle with wine vinegar for marinating, then pour in a glass of boiling water. After 5 minutes, drain the water and squeeze the onion. Grease the dough with tomato sauce, spread the seafood cocktail on it and crush the oregano. Remove the skin from the tomato, scald it with boiling water, cut it into rings and remove the seeds. We spread the tomato pulp on top of the seafood, and on top - pickled onions and olives, moderately distributed over the entire surface of the workpiece. Place the sliced mozzarella on the pizza and sprinkle with grated Parmesan. Bake at +200C for 15–20 minutes.

    Japanese pizza

    This pastry inherits the traditions of Japanese state cuisine: a wealth of seafood, vegetables and maximum nutrition with a minimum of calories.

    REFERENCE! Japanese pizza is called “Okonomiyaki”, which means “what you want fried”.

    • 200 g egg noodles;
    • 1 testicle;
    • 50 g ham;
    • 200 g squid pieces;
    • 100 g shrimp;
    • 200 g white cabbage;
    • 1 onion;
    • 3 tbsp. l. flour;
    • 30 g hard cheese;
    • salt, dark pepper - to taste;
    • olive oil – 2–3 tbsp. l.;
    • water – 2/3 tbsp.

    Boil seafood in salted water for 3-4 minutes, peel the shrimp and combine with squid. Shred the cabbage, cut the ham into strips, and finely chop the onion. Combine all the prepared ingredients in a deep container, add salt and pepper (save a little ham for later).

    Beat the egg with a whisk and add water, adding flour evenly. The batter must be kneaded until smooth. Place all the prepared ingredients and noodles there. Mix everything well.

    Place the mixture in a hot frying pan sprinkled with vegetable oil. We compact its top with a spatula and place the remaining pieces of ham on it. Fry the pizza on both sides over medium heat until golden brown. A minute before it's ready, sprinkle the surface of the pizza with grated cheese and herbs.

    What to add and what to mix seafood with

    The good thing about pizza is that it allows for experimentation and different options. For example, from seafood you can take only shrimp or only mussels, vary the composition of the ingredients with other products - the main thing is that they combine perfectly with each other. The approach to seafood is unrivaled...

    • all types of cheese;
    • olives and olives;
    • onion;
    • tomatoes;
    • garlic;
    • mushrooms;
    • pineapples;
    • various spices,
    • olive oil.

    Conclusion

    Uniqueness, lightness and exoticism – these are the epithets that can be used to describe pizza with seafood. By spending a minimum of effort, you will get maximum benefits from baking, which {in itself} is unique, and just as much pleasure from savoring gastronomic delights.
