- Cut it into three long strips.
- Carefully wrap each sausage in tape, making overlapping turns. Then secure the edges.
- Place the pieces on a foil-lined baking sheet or in a mold. Beat a raw chicken egg in a bowl. Using a pastry brush, brush the tops of the products with the lemonade.
- Place the mold in an oven preheated to 180 degrees. Bake for 20 minutes – the dough should be well browned.
You can serve it right away - optionally with sauce and fresh herbs. Or just with tea, hot broth.

- Place the sausage on top of the cheese.
- Fold in the top and bottom edges of the dough and secure them.
- Now tuck the edges on the right and left, fix them too, giving each piece its final shape.
- Place them on a baking sheet lined with foil. In a separate bowl, beat a chicken egg and brush the surface, then sprinkle with flax or sesame seeds.

Layer pie with sausages
What do we need:
- half-smoked sausages - 12 pcs.
- puff pastry – 0.5 kg
- egg yolk - 1 pc.
How to roll and bake this pie
- We take the puff sheets out of the refrigerator in advance and defrost them. The size of our blanks is 20x25 cm. If necessary, they can be rolled out a little. It may seem to you that the preparation process is long, but this is not so; you can immediately turn on the oven to heat up.
- Using a sharp knife, cut the layer into ribbons, but not completely. One side remains uncut. The width of the stripes is approximately 2.5 centimeters.
- We got 9 pieces.
- 1,3,5,7,9 stripes in a row are lifted up and turned to the other side.
- Place the filling on the dough, as in the photo.
- Cover it with even stripes. The sausage came out wrapped in dough.
- Then we raise the odd stripes up. Take the next sausage and place it next to the first one. Cover with the ribbons raised earlier.
- In this way we weave all the sausages. As a result, we will get a beautiful woven rug.
- To give the pie a finished look, take a separate strip of dough and make a side.
- All that remains is to bake the pie in the oven. We transfer the workpiece into the mold. Separate the white from the yolk and beat it with a fork until smooth. Use a brush to brush the cake.
- Bake in a preheated oven for approximately 40-45 minutes. We will get a nice golden brown crust. Keep an eye on the oven window so as not to dry out the exposed parts of the sausages. From 2 sheets of puff pastry (usually two sheets in packs of 500 grams) two pies come out.
While it cools down, we admire our golden elastic rug, because when cut it will not stand for a long time.

Cooking sausages in puff pastry or yeast-free dough in the oven
1. Defrost the dough at room temperature. It should just roll out.
2.In the meantime, prepare all the ingredients. We make batter from eggs and milk. Add a little salt and pepper to it and beat well with a fork.
3. Lightly roll out the dough along the layer so as not to destroy the layers, otherwise the dough will turn out hard.
4. Divide the layer into 6-8 parts with a knife.
5. Place one sausage on each piece.
6. To wrap it perfectly, we make cuts on the dough at an angle and begin to wrap the pieces, braiding them.

8. Place the formed braids on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper for baking. We maintain a distance of 5 cm so that our puff pastries do not stick together during baking.

Did you like it? I'll be glad to see your comments. And next time, try to cook such beautiful sausages in flower-shaped dough.
This is interesting! Sausages were prepared in Old China, Greece and Babylon. They are also mentioned in Homer's Odyssey. But the usual sausages for all of us were invented by the butcher Johann Laner. He lived and studied in Frankfurt and later moved to Vienna. There the butcher opened his shop and began working on his invention. It was in Vienna that Laner made sausages from mixed minced pork and beef. There are still disputes about the primacy of the invention, because sausages were prepared in Frankfurt a long time before the action. But we still use the traditional manufacturing design used by Johann Laner. But the most extraordinary sausages are literally prepared in Germany. For example, in Bavaria you can try blue sausages. They are boiled in vinegar and have a sour taste. In Düsseldorf you can eat golden sausages. In one of the restaurants they are served plated with 585 gold. In addition, golden sausages are also good for digestion.
Top tips:
- Although the sausages in the dough cook very quickly, it will take about 40 minutes to defrost the dough. Therefore, remove it from the freezer in advance.
- The snack can be supplemented with various ingredients according to your taste preferences. Try to grease the dough with mustard or ketchup. Sausages with cheese in puff pastry or wrapped in a piece of bacon are very tasty. For children, it will be a satisfying snack if you add mashed potatoes to the sausage dough.
- You can put any sausages for the buns. Dairy ones will be more tender, smoked ones will be more piquant.
