Step 1:

Peel the onion and wash in cool water. Then chop it finely. Heat the frying pan until hot, pour a little vegetable oil on it and fry the onion until transparent for 1-2 minutes.

Add boiled mushrooms to the pan with the onions. Fry everything together for about 5 minutes so that all the moisture from the mushrooms evaporates. Then set the pan aside and cool slightly.

Step 3:

Start preparing the meat. Cut the pork into pieces.

Step 4:

In a perfectly heated frying pan, fry the meat until golden brown. Lightly salt to taste and sprinkle with spices.

Step 5:

Grease a baking dish with a little vegetable oil and place the fried meat.

Step 6:

Peel the potatoes, wash them and cut them into pieces.

Step 7:

Place chopped potatoes on top of the meat. Spread it sparingly over the entire surface.

Step 8:

Sprinkle lightly with spices and brush with mayonnaise. Try to spread the mayonnaise so that it gets on all the potato pieces.

Place fried mushrooms on potatoes. Place the pan in the oven preheated to 200 degrees for 40 minutes.

What is “roast” anyway? There is a large selection of recipes for making this dish. Most often, this dish involves fried, stewed or baked meat along with various vegetables and seasonings. Any type of meat (veal, lamb, pork, chicken, etc.), in any form (huge whole pieces or finely chopped), is suitable for making hot meat, and potatoes are usually chosen as a by-product. Here are some making recipes.

  • Potatoes – 1 kg.
  • Pork (better neck) – 800 g.
  • Champignons – 500 g.
  • Onions – 2 pcs.
  • Carrots – 1 pc.
  • Water – 4 cups
  • Tomato paste – 2 tbsp. spoons
  • Sugar – 1 tbsp. spoons
  • Flour – 1 tbsp. spoons
  • Garlic – 2 cloves
  • Greens – 1 bunches
  • Bay leaf – 3 pcs.
  • Vegetable oil – – to taste
  • Salt, pepper, other spices - to taste
  • Pork – 800 g.
  • Potatoes – 500 g.
  • Boiled champignons – 500 g.
  • Onions – 300 g.
  • Cream – 1 cup
  • Mustard – 1 tbsp. spoons
  • Sunflower oil – 3 tbsp. spoons
  • Salt, pepper, spices – – to taste

Making a dish step by step

Let's cook a regular roast!

We wash the pork and remove excess water with a towel so that the oil does not shoot out during frying. Cut into small cubes, approximately 2x2 cm. Also wash, peel and cut into cubes the potatoes, mushrooms, finely chop the onions, and cut the carrots into small pieces.

Pour vegetable oil into a cauldron or duck pot and bring it almost to a boil. Place the meat and fry it over high heat for a couple of minutes until golden brown.

Add carrots and onions to the meat, reduce the heat and fry over medium heat until the onions become transparent. Add the mushrooms and fry again for a couple of minutes until the moisture from the mushrooms evaporates. Next, add enough water to barely cover the meat, season with spices, cover with a lid and simmer over low heat for about 20 minutes. By the way, the best spices to mix with pork are pepper (all types), bay leaf, garlic, cumin, basil, rosemary, lemon balm, nutmeg.

Next, add the chopped potatoes and fill the dish with water, leaving about a centimeter below the surface of the potatoes. Cover with a lid and cook until the potatoes are almost half cooked.

Add salt and sugar to the tomato paste, dilute it in half a glass of water and pour in almost finished potatoes.

Chop the garlic and herbs and add to the cauldron. If the roast with pork and mushrooms turns out to be watery, you can add a little flour to the dish, having previously diluted it in the hot broth. Turn off and let sit for a couple of minutes.

Rinse the meat well under cold water, dry it and cut into small pieces.

In a container, mix mayonnaise, mustard and spices to your taste. Place the meat in the mixture and marinate for about 1 hour.

Peel and finely chop the onion, cut the boiled mushrooms into small slices.

Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the onion until transparent.

Add chopped mushrooms to the onion, salt and pepper to taste and fry for another 5 - 7 minutes over low heat.

Take another frying pan and fry the meat in it until a golden crust forms (don’t forget to stir).

Peel the potatoes, wash them, dry them and cut them into slices. Divide it in half and place one half in a previously prepared and greased baking dish. Lightly salt and pepper. Then we lay it out in layers: first the meat, then the mushrooms and onions, and the remaining potatoes.

Pour one glass of cream over the entire dish. Cover with foil and bake in an oven previously preheated to 200 degrees for about 15 minutes. Then reduce the temperature to 180 degrees and bake for about another hour. After an hour, remove the foil and bake for another 20 minutes.

Remove from the oven, sprinkle with herbs and the roast is ready!

Meat in French is a dish that is very popular among housewives. The dish gained its popularity due to the ease of production and availability of goods.

There are a lot of recipes for making meat in French. I offer one of the options - French meat with potatoes and mushrooms.

Let's start by preparing the meat, which is one of the main ingredients. For production, you can use chicken, pork or beef. I will use lean pork. I cut it into small pieces, sprinkle with salt and pepper and put it in a baking dish, greased with a small amount of vegetable oil. I set the mold aside and prepare the other ingredients.

Cut mushrooms (champignons or wild mushrooms, like mine) into slices or pieces and fry until light golden brown in a frying pan in a small amount of vegetable oil.

I cut the onion into half rings and place it on the meat.

Place fried mushrooms on top of the onions.

I place lightly salted potatoes, cut into thin slices, on top of the mushrooms.

I grease the top of the potatoes with a small amount of mayonnaise (sour cream).

I sprinkle it with cheese, grated on a large grater, and send the meat in French style to an oven preheated to 190 degrees for 45–60 minutes, until the cheese is browned.

Potatoes with meat and mushrooms in the oven

For the potato recipe you will need:

  • meat (pork or beef without bone) – 600g
  • potatoes – 10 pcs. (medium size)
  • forest mushrooms (boiled, frozen) – 500g
  • salt - to taste
  • ground dark pepper - to taste
  • onions – 1-2 pcs.
  • sour cream (fat content 20%) – 250 ml
  • cheese (grated) - to taste
  • vegetable oil for frying.

Potato recipe:

For this kind of meat casserole, choose meat with layers of fat so that the finished dish comes out juicier. Cut the pork flesh (we used boneless brisket) into small pieces. Place the meat in a bowl, season to taste with black pepper and stir.

The mushrooms for the casserole were taken from our own supplies, prepared according to this recipe. Thaw frozen mushrooms ahead of time and place in a colander to remove excess water.

If you have fresh mushrooms, then you need to sort them out, cut them, peel the stems, and wipe the cap with a moistened napkin. If necessary, wash the mushrooms and place in a colander to remove excess water. Small mushrooms can be thrown in completely, large ones can be cut into several pieces.

Peel the potatoes and cut into slices about 5 mm wide. Peel the onions and cut them into half rings of approximately the same thickness as the potatoes.

Heat approximately 1 tbsp in a deep frying pan. oil and lightly fry the pieces of meat in parts. Transfer the meat, fried until golden brown, into a baking dish. Add salt to taste. Place the chopped onion in the frying pan in which the meat was fried and sauté, stirring, until soft.

Place the sautéed onions in a mold on top of the meat.

Add a little vegetable oil to the pan again and fry the mushrooms in it until half cooked, stirring occasionally. Lightly salt and pepper the fried mushrooms and add sour cream. Mix mushrooms in sour cream.

Place potato slices on a layer of meat and onions, as shown in the photo.

Then spread the mushrooms in sour cream over the potatoes. Cover the casserole dish with foil and place in the oven. Bake at 190C for approximately 1 hour. Sprinkle the finished casserole with grated cheese and return to the oven for about 5 more minutes to melt the cheese. Potatoes with meat and mushrooms, baked in the oven, are ready. Bon appetit!
