Usefulness and calorie content

The main feature of the pie is the use of semolina instead of wheat flour in the composition.

In the Russian period, semolina was elevated to the rank of more valuable cereals that anyone should eat, regardless of age. Modern scientists tend to believe that semolina, as such, does not have much value for the body, especially when compared with other grains. However, when added to a pie, it slightly reduces the calorie content of the product due to the replacement of wheat flour.

The calorie content of manna with kefir is 249 kcal per 100 grams of the finished product.

The value is not small, taking into account the fact that the pie turns out to be quite dense and languid in weight, so a hundred-gram piece will look very unconventional on the plate. There are secrets for reducing the calorie content of the product by reducing the number of eggs and flour in the composition. Making dietary manna can be done, but the pie will lose its enviable fluffiness and delicacy for which it is so adored.

Mannik with kefir is a traditional pie that has been prepared for many, many hundreds of years. During this period of time, a large number of recipes for its production arose, and from an ordinary everyday dish, manna has grown into a real masterpiece, which is now served even in the most elite restaurants in the world.

Anyone can prepare a delicious dish at home, even children, because you don’t need any special knowledge to make it; it’s enough to have a regular set of ingredients and an oven or multicooker on hand.

Traditional manna with kefir

  • Ingredients for manna:
  • Semolina - a glass;
  • Eggs – 2 pieces are enough;
  • A drink of any fat content – ​​a glass;
  • Sweet sand – 150-170 gr.
  • Slaked soda with vinegar (half a teaspoon) or a bag of baking powder for dough.

Step-by-step recipe for making an airy cake from semolina with kefir:

1. Prepare the products.

2. Pour semolina into a deep bowl and then add a glass of kefir to it.

3. Stir the products with a spoon until a thick paste forms and leave this paste to stand for about an hour. During this period of time, the semolina will swell, absorbing the drink, so the next pie will turn out fluffy and tender in taste.

4. Whisk the sugar and eggs. You can use a mixer for whipping or a blender, the main thing is that you get a fluffy composition with foam.

5. Add the egg mass into the infused semolina and beat with an electric appliance until a homogeneous mass is obtained.

6. During the whipping process, add baking powder or slaked baking soda to your mixture. The result should be a very thick batter, like pancake batter.

On a note! Manna soda can be extinguished with lemon juice.

7. Sprinkle a baking pan or pan with a little semolina or ordinary wheat flour.

8. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees, it is important that the dough is placed directly in a warm space, then the manna will quickly rise and will not only have a wonderful shape, but also have an indescribably light, airy taste.

9. While the oven is heating up, pour the mixture into the mold and set to bake for 40 minutes
. Attention! Depending on the type of oven and the diameter of the pan, the baking time may be less or more than indicated. You can check the readiness of the pie using a match or toothpick.

10. Open the oven without removing the pie from it, let it cool and only later put it on a beautiful dish.

11. We decorate the manna at our discretion. It can be sprinkled with sweet powder, sesame seeds, coconut flakes, smeared with boiled condensed milk, poured over chocolate, etc.

Mannik with banana without eggs

Pie ingredients:

  • two bananas;
  • a glass of sugar;
  • 500 ml. kefir;
  • semolina - two glasses;
  • butter – 70 g;
  • vanilla on the tip of a knife;
  • baking powder or soda (if it’s soda, don’t forget to put it out, take a teaspoon);
  • no matter what berry is used to decorate the pie (cherry, strawberry...).

How to bake eggless manna with bananas at home

Mix the drink with semolina, let the products stand in the room, without covering them, for 30-40 minutes.

Add softened or melted butter, sugar, vanillin, baking powder or soda, and bananas crushed with a fork into the mature mixture. Mix the ingredients until you see a thick, homogeneous mass in front of you.

Pour the dough into a mold greased with vegetable or butter and bake in an oven preheated to 180 or 200 degrees. Baking time is approximately 35-45 minutes.

What you need for baking:

  • Semolina - glass;
  • cocoa powder – 4 level spoons;
  • butter – 120 grams;
  • vanilla sugar - 15 or 20 grams sachet;
  • granulated sugar – 130-140 gr.;

  • cherry made from jam or canned – 120 g;
  • eggs – 2 pcs.;
  • any kind of shortbread cookies - 40-50 g pack;
  • soda – half a teaspoon (dissolve).

Recipe for making chocolate manna with kefir step by step.

As in previous recipes, pour in, stir and leave the semolina with the fermented milk product to brew for 40 minutes.

Add the remaining ingredients to the thick paste and beat with a mixer. Before adding, melt the butter, crumble the cookies, but do not add to the composition itself yet.

Grease the mold with oil, sprinkle a little semolina, pour in the dough, sprinkle grated cookies on top.

Bake the chocolate semolina pie at 180 degrees for 45-50 minutes.

Decorate the finished dish as you wish. You can use the same cherries that are used in the dough itself, or, for example, sweet powder, any kind of confectionery topping, etc.

Very tasty manna with coconut

We take for production:

  • 250 ml. low-fat kefir (you can use low-fat kefir);
  • wheat flour, sifted - a glass;
  • a glass of semolina;
  • a glass of sugar;
  • a bag of coconut flakes (approximately 100-120 g);
  • one testicle;
  • vegetable oil without aroma – 80-100 ml.;
  • sachet of baking powder – 10-15 g.
  • a pinch of salt.

How to bake a coconut pie

Heat the drink a little, pour it into the semolina and stir. The mass should be thick (thicker than sour cream), but without lumps.

Pour in the coconut shavings and mix thoroughly so that the shavings are distributed throughout the entire composition. Let these products stand for an hour at room temperature.

After an hour, mix in the egg, sugar, baking powder, sifted flour, and vegetable oil. It is best to mix the ingredients for the dough with a blender or mixer, because the end result should be a perfectly mixed mass without lumps or clots. It is necessary to introduce products into the dough alternately.

As a result, you should end up with a mash, and I note that it will not become homogeneous, because coconut shavings are used.

Pour the dough into the mold and place in a preheated oven. Adjust the baking time yourself depending on the thickness of the poured layer and the temperature in the oven. Approximately useful at 180 degrees for about an hour. When a beautiful black crust appears on the pie, check the manna with a match; if there is no dough left on the match after you stuck it into your culinary masterpiece, the dish is ready.

You can serve coconut manna with syrups, chocolate, and decorate with the same coconut shavings. Allow the pie to cool before serving.

Useful tips for making manna with kefir

All four recipes presented are perfect for baking this sweet, in the oven, and in a slow cooker. The only thing that is important to take into account when preparing manna with kefir using an electrical appliance is that the bowls of multicookers are usually not huge, like oven shapes, and therefore it is better to take half the smallest portion of goods for manna.

In order for the kefir-based semolina to come out tender, crumbly, fragrant, delicious, and delicious, you need to stir the soaked semolina a couple of times while it is swelling. This will allow you to get a homogeneous crumbly mass, and not a solid lump of semolina.

When replacing baking powder with soda, know that 1 portion of slaked soda replaces 3 parts of finished baking powder. Depending on this, select the correct portions of these goods.

Next, pour the semolina into a bowl, pour in the drink, leave it - let it infuse.
  2. When the semolina is ready, light the oven. Heating - 180 degrees.
  3. We break the eggs in a separate bowl and, combining them with sweet sand, beat them a little. Add salt and beat too. In this case, we do not need compacted foam; it is enough to achieve a homogeneous egg-sugar mass.
  4. Combine the mixture with the soaked semolina, add baking powder and stir quickly.
  5. The perfect shape is 26-28 cm in size, we oil it in advance. You can also line it with parchment. If the mold is made of silicone, then this is not required.
  6. Place the manna in a preheated to suitable temperature. The main thing is to introduce the baking powder into the dough and quickly send the cake into the oven. Otherwise, its reaction with the acidic medium of kefir will pass, the air bubbles that give the dough airiness will fall off, and the cake will be dense and “inexpressive” in appearance. After an hour, it needs to be pierced with a dry stick. Ready - time to get it.
  7. The finished manna should “rest” for at least a quarter of an hour. During this period of time it will cool down and will be easily removed from the mold. Now you can cut it.
