Shortbread recipe

Each housewife has her own recipe, tested and approved by her household. We offer another version of Easter cookies.

Ingredients: 85 g butter at room temperature, 5 g vanilla sugar, 160 g flour, 1 egg (yolk), 25 g milk.

Icing (glaze) for Easter cookies

Now, the most important part is decorating the Easter cookies. It’s the decor that makes these cookies Easter.

www.bolshoyvopros.ru

Icing is a sugar-protein mass that can be used to draw anything.

For glaze: 1 egg white, 6 tbsp. l. sweet powder, 2 tbsp. l. lemon juice, food coloring.

Beat 1 egg white with sifted sweet powder. More powder may be needed (depending on the size of the testicle). At the end of whipping, add lemon juice or citric acid at the tip of a knife. The mass should be smooth and elastic: not watery and not very thick. Beat at a slow speed at first, and then beat at high speed for a few minutes.

The glaze dries very quickly, so immediately after making it, cover it with film.

Place the prepared glaze into cups and color with food coloring.

The icing is applied using a cardboard cone or a pastry syringe.

First, make an outline (the glaze should be thicker so that the line does not spill). Give the contour half an hour to dry. Then cover other surfaces with the most watery icing (dilute the composition with warm water). Checking the thickness. Take a knife and draw a line in the middle of the finished icing, count out loud to 3. On the count of three, the broken parts of the glaze should close. The mixture is right! To ensure that there are no bubbles on the finished product and the glaze spreads evenly, you need to let the icing sit and tap lightly so that the air bubbles rise up.

Properly prepared glaze hardens quickly and does not stick to your hands. The shelf life of the finished icing in a tightly closed container is 4 days. Definitely in the refrigerator! Before working, you need to stir the glaze well and do not forget to cover it with a damp towel or film while working: the composition dries out VERY quickly.

Because raw protein is used to make the glaze, the eggs must be washed THOROUGHLY with soap or dry protein. This will protect against salmonellosis and other “chicken diseases”.

Unusual and delicious Easter cookies

The tradition of baking Easter cookies was taken over relatively recently from the countries of Europe and the United States (the United States of America is a state in North America) . But cute, tasty figures made from dough covered with glaze not only took root next to the classic royal Easter cakes and cottage cheese Easter cakes, but were also adapted and assimilated according to our traditions.

Easter Cookie Recipe

There are a huge number of recipes for cookies that are baked for Easter, but they are all just variations on the classic theme. Usually, the solemn theme is represented by figures of bunnies, birds, eggs, covered with multi-colored glaze.

Modern housewives can freely purchase not only food dyes of all colors, but also decorations, sprinkles, shavings, decor and give free rein to their imagination.

Making cookies covered with sweet glaze is a fairly simple process; even a novice, inexperienced pastry chef can handle this task. It is possible (and even necessary) to involve children in the process - together it is more fun and the holiday feels brighter.

Ingredients

The process involves two steps: making the cookie dough with the upcoming baking and making the icing, followed by decoration.

For the test:

  • 0.2 kg butter;
  • 0.2 kg sugar;
  • ½ tsp. vanilla sugar;
  • ¼ tsp. a little salt;
  • almond flavor;
  • 1 testicle;
  • 50 ml of fat milk or cream;
  • 450 g of premium wheat flour.

For the glaze

  • 2 egg whites
  • 150 g sweet powder;
  1. Leave the butter at room temperature for 20-30 minutes until it becomes soft. There is no need to melt it on fire.
  2. Mix butter and sugar, beat with a mixer until a fluffy homogeneous mass is obtained.
  3. Add vanilla sugar, salt and a few drops of almond flavoring.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the egg with milk. It is better to use a whisk or fork rather than a mixer.
  5. Add the contents of the bowl to the butter-sugar mixture.
  6. Sift the flour and add it in small portions to the dough, stirring constantly.
  7. The dough should turn out quite stiff; mix it with your hands.
  8. Roll the purchased dough into a ball, wrap it in cling film and place in the refrigerator for an hour.

Making cookies

After an hour, you can cut out cookies from the dough. It’s comfortable to create this on parchment paper. Its surface must be sprinkled with flour so that the cookies do not stick and retain their shape, so it will be easier to transfer them to a baking sheet.

It is necessary to roll out a layer of dough about 0.5 cm wide. To make the cookies look great and have a solemn appearance, they are given the shape of Easter eggs, sheep, and rabbits. To do this, you need to purchase ready-made molds or improvise with all your heart.

After the pieces are cut out, they must be sent to the oven, preheated to 170 -180 0 C and baked for 15 minutes on parchment paper. You can create notches or pictures on the surface.

It's time for the glaze

Mix 2 egg whites and sweet powder in a bowl, stir with a whisk until smooth. The glaze should turn out to be quite thick, but pouring it over the cookies is not very comfortable. At this step you can add 2 tbsp. l. warm boiled water and mix well again.

If the cookies are covered with snow-white glaze, then for the “purity” of the color you need to add 1 tsp. lemon juice - a natural bleach. To obtain the remaining colors, the glaze must be divided into several portions.

Gel or dry dyes are comfortable to use. They must be added in small portions and thoroughly mixed. The more dye you add, the richer the color you will get.

Any color is tucked into a separate pastry bag. Cover the finished cookies with glaze and shake lightly so that the layer is even and without lumps. Right after the glaze, you can decorate the cookies using sprinkles or beads.

After the color layer dries, approximately 2 hours, you can draw patterns on it. To do this, sweet powder is added to the snow-white glaze to again create it as thick as possible.

Ginger cookie

Very beautiful and tasty ginger cookies will become not only a treat, but also a gift for loved ones on the bright holiday of Easter.

Thanks to the addition of ground ginger to the dough, it acquires a pleasant “coffee” color.

For the test

  • 1 p. butter;
  • 1 tbsp. premium wheat flour;
  • 3 tbsp. l. sweet powder;
  • a bag of vanilla sugar;
  • 1 tsp ground ginger;
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon

You can decorate the cookies with icing or melted chocolate, but do not fill them completely, as in the first option, but only draw them.

To make the dough, mix all the ingredients with a mixer until large crumbs form in the bowl. Then a plastic dough is formed from it (by hand), which is sent to the refrigerator for an hour.

The chilled dough is rolled out into a layer of 0.5-0.7 mm and cookies are cut out of it. They bake it, just like in the first case, in an oven preheated to 180 0 C.

Importantly: you can remove the cookies from the baking sheet only after they have completely cooled down. This needs to be done very carefully, because the finished cookies are very fragile.

By the way, the recipe can be varied and honey cookies can be prepared. To do this, add 1-2 tbsp to the dough. l. watery (or melted in a water bath) honey.

Unique marshmallow sweets

For those who don’t like fiddling with dough or don’t have the ability to bake cookies (for example, don’t have an oven), there is another, rather unique recipe for Easter sweets with marshmallows.

To make them, you will actually need marshmallows - preferably small ones, and snow-white chocolate.

Break the chocolate bar and melt it in a water bath. Then mix with marshmallows and pour into molds previously lined with parchment paper and place in the refrigerator. After 2-3 hours, the shaped sweets can be taken out of the refrigerator - they are ready.

The most important thing in making Easter cookies is the desire to amuse loved ones and create a festive mood. It’s not so important that it comes out perfect, even if not everything works out the first time, let the kids smear the table and smear themselves in icing and chocolate, but these sweets will bring a lot of joy.

Easter cookies with icing

On the eve of the bright and long-awaited spring holiday of Easter, we offer you to prepare very beautiful, tasty and decorated cookies with icing. These Easter cookies will serve not only as a delicious treat, but also as a tasty gift that you can give to all your family and friends. By the way, if you have never decorated cookies with icing, it is done quite easily and even quite fun, so feel free to involve all family members in this process!

Ingredients for making cookies with icing for Easter:

  • wheat flour – 270 g
  • butter – 100 g
  • chicken egg – 1 pc.
  • sweet powder – 200 g
  • vanilla sugar – 1 tsp.

  • egg white – 1 pc.
  • sweet powder – 200 g
  • lemon juice – 1 tbsp.
  • food colorings

Recipe for making Easter cookies with icing:

Prepare the cookie dough. In a bowl, combine room temperature butter, sweet powder and vanilla sugar.

Beat the butter with a mixer for 3-4 minutes until the mixture is fluffy.

Beat one large chicken egg into the mixture.

Again, thoroughly beat the mixture with a mixer.

Add the sifted flour (by the way, because flour can vary significantly in quality, you may need a little more or less of it than indicated in the recipe, because in order not to clog the dough with excess flour, add 250 g first, and add the rest gradually needs).

Using your hands or a mixer fitted with a dough hook, quickly knead the dough into a homogeneous dough.

Place the finished Easter cookie dough with icing into a bag and refrigerate for 1 hour.

If desired, divide the well-rested dough into 2 parts (to make it easier to work with) and roll it into a layer about 5 mm wide.

Use an egg-shaped die cutter to cut out Easter cookies. Collect the dough scraps and roll them out as well.

Place the cut out cookies on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.

Bake Easter cookies at 180 C for about 10 minutes, until the edges are lightly browned. Let the finished liver cool completely.

Prepare the glaze. To do this, add sifted sweet powder to the egg white.

Using a spatula or whisk, carefully grind the egg whites and powder until the mixture is smooth and white. Rub very carefully (about 8-10 minutes) so that the powder is completely dissolved and the glaze becomes homogeneous.

Add a tablespoon of lemon juice and stir very thoroughly again.

Divide the finished glaze into as many servings as the number of colors you want to get.

Color each batch of Easter cookie icing the color you want. To do this, simply add a drop of watery dye to each container of icing and stir thoroughly until the color is uniform.

Transfer the finished colored glaze into disposable pastry bags or thick bags.

Cut off a corner of the bag or package (the hole should be 1 mm in diameter). Before reaching the edge of the cookie, make a border out of the icing, as shown in the photo.

Also fill the inside of the cookie with icing of the same color as the side.

Using a wooden skewer (make radial movements) or simply shaking the cookies from side to side, smooth out the surface of the glaze.

Then you can proceed in two different ways: apply a subsequent layer of glaze on top of the glaze that has not yet dried, then the sketch will be smooth, or apply the sketch on top of a completely dried base, then the surface will have the most texture.

We now offer you to decorate cookies using the first method, so we don’t wait for the glaze to dry, but draw further. Alternatively, make circles in the center of the cookies with icing of any other color.

And with a skewer, moving from the center to the edge, begin to connect the icing, this way you will get a typical flower.

You can also decorate Easter cookies with zigzags; to do this, apply stripes of icing of a different color on top of the main icing.

And with the sharp end of the skewer, starting from the 1st edge, draw stripes first in one direction, then in the opposite direction, this way you will get zigzags.

You can also simply pipe dots of a different color icing on top to create polka dot Easter cookies. And, if you run a skewer through the center of each drop, the peas will transform into a heart.

After your main sketch has dried (this will take a couple of hours), you can decorate the edge of the cookie with a “snake” of dots.

Leave the 100% crowned cookies at room temperature overnight (that is, in the dark) so that the glaze dries perfectly.

Festive cookies with icing for Easter are ready!

Ordinary recipes for savory cookies for Easter bookmark 15

The bright holiday of Easter is one of the most important Christian celebrations. It is preceded by Great Lent, and everyone is looking forward to savory treats. In addition to ordinary Easter cakes, housewives also bake fragrant, wonderful cookies that children love so much. It will decorate any formal table and will be a good addition to tea drinking. We now present to your attention several ordinary recipes.

Pleasant traditions

In Germany, one of the main signs of Easter is the hare, so the Germans try very hard to show their imagination and make a huge number of figurines, cookies and cupcakes in the form of these funny animals. But in Poland, ordinary baked goods are prepared with the inside. To do this, eat fruits or nuts.

Because sweets are festive, they are decorated with icing, sprinkles or painted with sweet pencils. Typically glaze consists of 4 components:

  • chicken protein – 1 pc.;
  • sweet powder – 200 g;
  • lemon juice – 1 tsp;
  • food colorings.

The white must be chilled, so it will whip better. Lemon juice will also assist in this process.

Beat the egg whites and juice until fluffy, add powder in portions, whisking without forgetting.

To prevent the fudge from flowing, you can add a pinch of flour at the end of making it. This decoration is suitable for any cookie. Now about the extreme in more detail.

Simple and delicious

The easiest way to make ceremonial baking is from shortcrust pastry. Almost all experienced housewives have his recipe, and it has been tested over the years. After all, not only appearance is important, but also good taste.

Products that will be useful:

  • flour – 2 tbsp;
  • margarine – 250 g;
  • sugar – 1 tbsp;
  • eggs – 2 pcs.;
  • soda – ¼ tsp;
  • vinegar.

Beat eggs with sugar, add margarine cut into pieces (it should be at room temperature) and sifted flour. Knead the dough and put it in the refrigerator for half an hour.

Roll out the chilled dough, cut out rabbit shapes, and bake for about 10 minutes. After cooling, decorate with glaze.

This tender dessert is an unlimited field for your design imagination.

Spiced

Ginger pastries will not only decorate your table, but also become a beautiful gift. By beautifully painting it and putting it in a gift box, you can create a unique present for your family and friends.

  • flour – 2 tbsp;
  • eggs – 2 pcs.;
  • butter – 200 g;
  • sugar – ½ tbsp.;
  • ground ginger – 2 tsp;
  • cinnamon, cocoa, honey - to taste;
  • soda – ½ tsp;
  • salt.

Mix spices with soda and salt, add a little cocoa and sifted flour. Beat soft butter and sugar separately, add eggs. Mix the two masses and knead thoroughly. For the dough to be pliable, it needs to be refrigerated. To do this, wrap it in film and put it in the refrigerator for 40-60 minutes.

After this, the mass is rolled out. If you want your baked goods to be tender and crispy, the thickness of the sheet should not exceed 1-2 mm. If you create a thicker sheet, you will get delicious and soft gingerbread. To make the cookies fit the holiday theme, you can cut them in the shape of eggs.

Place narrow pastries in the oven for 5 minutes, gingerbread cookies for 7-8 minutes.

To decorate them, you need medium-thick icing and a pastry bag. If you don’t have one at hand, a paper file will do. You need to create a thin hole in it, pour in the fudge and secure it tightly on top with a clamp. If the sketch is multi-layered, for example, openwork, be sure to give each layer a couple of minutes to harden so that your “art” does not float.

If you are afraid that you won’t have enough talent for complex decor, you can create beautiful patterns using the dot method.

Without flour

This recipe is widely known in Jewish cuisine. The thing is that Jews do not prepare dishes from flour for Passover, so these cookies will be a good candidate for regular baking. You will need:

  • coconut shavings – 200 g;
  • sweet powder - ¾ tbsp.;
  • eggs – 2 pcs.

How to prepare such an unusual dish? To begin, separate the whites from the yolks and beat until foam appears. Add powder and yolks, beat for a couple of minutes until smooth.

Add coconut flakes, stir and spoon onto parchment lined deco. It will be difficult to give the liver an unusual shape due to the mixture, and round, oval sweets are completely suitable. Bake them for 15 minutes.

You can decorate this dessert with chocolate sprinkles, glaze or just sweet powder.

Making delicious homemade sweets that are so pleasant to enjoy at the Easter table with your family can become a pleasant tradition that will be passed down from generation to generation.
