Salad with tuna
Mon, October 1, 2018
Salads with canned tuna are prepared according to various recipes. It depends on the personal preferences of the cook and the availability of the necessary goods. I suggest trying a delicious Italian-style tuna salad with cherry tomatoes, olives and oregano. Season the salad with olive oil and you’ll get a good dish for any day, even for a special occasion.
Canned tuna for this salad is suitable either natural or in oil. In this case, you can not add olive oil or simply reduce its amount. You can replace sweet cherry tomatoes with ordinary tomatoes, green leaf lettuce with crispy Iceberg (I didn’t have one at that time), quail eggs with chicken eggs (4 pieces are enough). We use oregano to taste or, if desired, season the salad with Provençal herbs.
Ingredients:
Making a dish step by step:
To make this simple, frisky, tasty and healthy salad, we will need the following ingredients: canned tuna, lettuce, cherry tomatoes, quail eggs, cucumbers, pitted olives, olive oil and oregano. The indicated quantity of ingredients used is designed for 4 portioned salads.
We remove canned fish (specifically canned tuna - 250 grams) from the can and cut it (most conveniently with a fork) into small but careful pieces. I remove the spine (it is not very hard, but it doesn’t look appetizing).
Wash the freshest medium-sized cucumbers (4 pieces), dry them and cut them into random pieces so that they can be easily pricked with a fork. There is such a cutting method - triangles (more precisely, a trapezoid).
Cut cherry tomatoes (8 pieces) in half or into 4 parts, depending on the size of the fruit. You can use more tomatoes if you wish.
You need to boil 20 quail eggs in advance (3-4 minutes after boiling). Cool them, clean them and cut them in half lengthwise. If you use chicken eggs (4 pieces), hard-boil them too, peel and cut into careful slices.
Wash the green salad in cool water, dry it thoroughly and tear the leaves with your hands so that small pieces come out. I highly recommend the ability to eat Iceberg lettuce (a quarter fork is enough) - it is very juicy and crunchy. I recommend serving this tuna salad in portions on flat plates. Looks most beautiful on snow-white. Place lettuce leaves on a plate.
On top, randomly place slices of cucumber, pieces of tomatoes and pitted olives (drain off the brine, it is not needed in this salad).
Then add halves of quail eggs and pieces of canned tuna.
All that remains is to sprinkle the ingredients with a pinch of oregano (if you like) and lightly sprinkle with olive oil (a tablespoon per serving). Similarly, assemble the other 3 servings of tuna salad.
We serve the salad immediately after preparation - the dish cannot be stored. A very ordinary, but tasty and special salad you will literally love. Cook for your health, friends, and bon appetit!
