If there were 2 cups of raw cereal, then the output will be 6 cups of finished cereal. It is very important to maintain the correct proportions between liquid and rice. To cook one part long grain rice, use two parts water.
  2. Round. It contains significantly more starch, which is why it is difficult to make it crumbly. There is less water per part of raw cereal - only 1.5 parts.

Fundamentally! Rinse the rice very carefully. It is not allowed to rub it with your fingers, so as not to break the grains. Otherwise you will get a viscous porridge.

Method of absorption

The ratio of rice to water is the same as for cooking the long grain variety. The cereal is washed a couple of times until the water is relatively clear. Pour water over the rice, wait until it boils and cook for 3 minutes. Now cover tightly with a lid. Reduce heat to low. Steam should not escape. The essence of the method is that the rice absorbs water. This will take 15 to 20 minutes. This is an approximate time.

Boiling method

Place the washed rice in a saucepan. Pour in plenty of water and bring to a boil. There is no need to cover it with a lid at all. Water must evaporate freely. When the grains become soft, put them in a colander and give them a contrast shower: wash them first with boiling water, and then immediately with cool water.

It’s probably hard to find a formal menu that doesn’t include crab stick salad. Crab salads are so popular among housewives that there is sometimes no limit to their abundance. Now we have one of the production options, which is quite recognizable - crab salad with rice and corn.

Let's prepare the necessary ingredients. You will need: a package of crab sticks, a small jar of canned corn, rice, quail eggs, which can be replaced with chicken eggs, greens (we have dill), salt, an onion and dressing mayonnaise.

Let's start making crab salad with rice by preparing crab sticks. You can use a chilled product, or you can use it frozen, like ours. Let's free the sticks from the cellophane film. First cut lengthwise and then into large cubes.

After that we’ll put them in a salad bowl and let them thaw perfectly there.

We also cut the onions into cubes, but into the smallest ones.

The onion goes into the salad bowl after the chopsticks.

Next you need to chop the dill, having previously disassembled it into tops. Add the chopped greens after the onions.
