Beach season is ahead. It's time for Lenten baking

Spring is coming, and with it the time of Great Lent. At this time, people limit themselves to certain products. But this is not a reason to give up savory, sweet pastries.

And spring is the time when any lady wants to look her best. The winter diet implies some weight gain, because food in the cool season is the most nutritious, satisfying and languid. And seasonal depression, caused by a lack of sun and warmth, forces you to “eat up” your bad mood with all sorts of not entirely healthy delicacies.

Now is the time to get yourself in order and lose those extra pounds. But we will create it deliciously and beautifully. Fortunately, there is a multicooker that will help you prepare any dish.

Cupcake “Apple Fantasy”

Juicy baked goods with a small amount of calories will turn out fluffy, fragrant and very tasty. Just right for morning coffee or evening tea.

Ingredients

  • Premium wheat flour – 250 gr.
  • Refined sunflower oil – 50 gr.
  • Warm water - as needed
  • Granulated sugar – 150 gr.
  • Baking powder – 1 sachet (20 g.)
  • Cocoa powder – 2 tbsp. l.
  • Cinnamon – 1 tsp.
  • Large apple – 1-2 pcs.

If you don't like cinnamon, replace it with vanilla sugar. Adjust the number of apples yourself. You can also add dried fruits (raisins, dried apricots, figs). But then take fewer apples.

Manufacturing

  1. Sift the flour through a nylon sieve to enrich it with oxygen.
  2. Mix all dry ingredients in an enamel container.
  3. Add vegetable oil and warm water, bringing the consistency to thick sour cream.
  4. Peel the apple and grate it on a large grater. If you use dried fruits, you need to pour boiling water over them in advance and leave for a couple of minutes, drain the water and dry slightly. Chop large dried fruits and sprinkle with flour so that the pieces are moderately distributed over the dough and do not fall down during baking.
  5. Add the fruit to the dough and mix again, trying to achieve maximum homogeneity.
  6. Coat the container in the multicooker with vegetable oil and dust it with flour so that the finished baked goods just come out of the container.
  7. Place the mixture into the prepared bowl and level the surface with a spoon.
  8. Turn on the “Baking” mode for 60 minutes. Close the lid and cook until the beep sounds.

Lenten baked goods are removed using a steamer rack. Let it cool completely and sprinkle with sweet powder. Decorate with the freshest berries or apple slices and a sprig of fresh mint.

Tea cake

Baking with strong tea as a base will be unusual and delicious. The baked pie can be cut into several layers and spread with jam or something more interesting.

Products

  • Strong tea – 1 glass
  • Sweet sand – 150 gr.
  • Light honey – 2 tbsp. l.
  • Refined vegetable oil – 50 gr.
  • Flour – 500 gr.
  • Baking soda – 1 tsp.
  • Table vinegar 9% - 2 tbsp. l.
  • Baking powder – 1 tsp.

  • Raisins – 100 gr.
  • Dried apricots – 100 gr.
  • Dried prunes – 100 gr.
  • Honey – 3-4 tbsp. l.
  • Lemon – ½ citrus
  • Chopped walnuts – ½ cup

If there is no such set of goods, you can use thick homemade jam from your favorite fruits or berries.

Manufacturing

  1. Brew strong tea. Take 2 tsp per glass of boiling water. tea leaves or 2 filter bags. Let it brew in a teapot, strain and add sugar and honey to the warm liquid. Stir thoroughly until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  2. Add vegetable oil to the liquid.

In a separate container, combine baking soda and baking powder. Add vinegar to extinguish the active ingredients and start the fermentation process. This particular mixture will allow the dough to rise.

This Lenten pastry will become your favorite and you will cook it at any time of the year.

Yeast pie with mushrooms

Lenten yeast baked goods can be either sweet or savory. Open and closed pies, pies, buns, bagels - all this can be prepared from such a tasty and airy dough.

Products

  • Warm boiled water – 0.5 l.
  • Pressed live yeast – 50 gr.
  • Sugar – 2-4 tbsp. l.
  • Salt – 1 tsp.
  • Flour - as needed
  • Vegetable oil without aroma – 50-70 gr.

  • Mushrooms – 500 gr.
  • Carrot – 1 pc. (large)
  • Snow-white onion – 1 pc. (big)
  • Salt, seasonings - to taste.

If it is a sweet, lean pastry, increase the amount of sugar in the dough. For lean yeast dough, it is better to use live yeast, they will rise the mass better and the pie will turn out fluffy.

Manufacturing

The dough can be prepared using 2 methods: sponge and straight, or direct kneading. Let's look at both.

Sponge method:

  1. Dissolve sugar and salt in warm water. Add yeast and stir until it “blooms” into the water. Give 10-15 minutes. stand until small bubbles appear. This is the yeast that begins to “make friends” with sugar.
  2. Sift about 2 tbsp. flour. Add them to the yeast liquid and stir so that there are no lumps. Cover with a cotton towel and place in a warm space, protected from drafts, for 30-40 minutes. During this period of time, the dough should approximately double in size.
  3. Pour vegetable oil into the dough and begin adding sifted flour, kneading a soft but elastic dough. Cover again with a towel and place in the same space for 1.5-2 hours. The dough will increase in size. It must be crushed once and then allowed to rise again.
  4. After this, you can begin to form the pie.

Direct mixing method (no steam):

  1. Add sugar, salt, yeast to warm water and stir until smooth. Add oil.
  2. Sift the flour and add it evenly into the liquid, kneading into a soft dough.
  3. Cover with a towel and place in a warm space for 1.5-2 hours to rise. Process with 2 kneads. After this, we proceed to the pie.
    1. While the dough is rising, prepare the filling. Chop the mushrooms and fry in vegetable oil, adding diced onions and grated carrots. Season with salt and seasonings. The mushroom filling can be prepared in a slow cooker, or in a frying pan - whichever is more convenient.
    2. Divide the dough into two unequal parts. Knead a huge one on a board with a small amount of flour and shape it with your hands. pancake, about 1-15 cm wide. Calculate the size so as to cover the bottom and sides of the bowl in the multicooker.
    3. Grease the bowl with oil, sprinkle with flour and place the prepared dough. Spread the filling and smooth it out with a spoon.
    4. We also knead the second half of the dough and make a “lid” for the pie. Cover the filling and make punctures with a fork or a narrow stick so that air escapes during baking and the dough does not “tear”. Grease the top with vegetable oil to create a shiny crust on the finished pie.

  1. Set the “Baking” mode for 1-1.2 hours, close the lid and bake until the sound signal.
  2. Leave the finished pie for 10-15 minutes. in the bowl with the lid open. Let the baked goods sit and rest.

Remove using a steamer rack and place on a plate. Sprinkle with chopped dill and green onions. The pie will be delicious both warm and cool.

Adviсe

Lenten baked goods are very simple to make. It requires a minimum of goods that are always at hand.

The batter is baked under a closed lid until the end of the process, otherwise the baked goods will “fall” and you will end up with a pancake, not a fluffy cake.

Lenten baked goods must remain in the slow cooker for some time after finishing. Then, after removal, it will not fall off or become deformed.

How to cook Lenten pie “Monastic” in a slow cooker

Step-by-step recipe description

  • Show as huge photos with description

1. Brew black tea.

2. Combine tea, jam and sugar. Mix thoroughly.

3. Add sifted flour, vanilla sugar, salt, vegetable oil and baking powder.

I added blackcurrant jam, so the raw dough didn’t turn out to be a very appetizing color :).

4. Soak raisins and dried fruits in advance.
If the dried fruits are large (dried apricots, prunes), then you need to chop them finely. Chop the nuts. To prevent nuts and dried fruits from settling to the bottom, you need to roll them in flour.

If you don’t like dried fruits or nuts, you can bake without them.
