Ingredients

  • sprats in oil (smoked) – 150 g
  • boiled carrots – 80 g
  • boiled potatoes – 150 g
  • hard-boiled eggs – 2 pcs.
  • onion – 50 g
  • salt - 2 chips.
  • hard cheese – 50 g
  • mayonnaise – 100 g or to taste
  • greens - for decoration

Boil carrots, potatoes and eggs in advance, cool, peel and grate. 1st layer - carrots, grease with mayonnaise mesh.

Place a second layer of potatoes, add a little salt and pour oil from a jar of sprats - the liquid will saturate the potato layer, which will keep it from being dry. Cover with mayonnaise mesh.

Lay out the sprats (cut or mash with a fork), but first carefully separate the tails from each fish - they will be used to decorate the salad. There is no need to grease with sauce.

Cut the onion into small cubes. Place on top of the fish. Grease with a small amount of mayonnaise.

The next layer is boiled eggs. Cover with mayonnaise mesh.

The final layer is grated cheese.

Decorate the salad with sprat tails to create an imitation of “fish in a pond.”

Boil the eggs, cool, peel and grate.
Grate the cheese.
Separate the tails of several fish and set aside for decoration.
Mash other sprats with a fork.
Peel the onion and chop finely.
Peel the carrots and grate on a large grater.
In a frying pan heated with vegetable oil, fry the onions and carrots until golden brown.

Place the prepared ingredients in a salad bowl in layers.

“Fish in the Pond” is a simple and hearty salad with sprats that can be prepared for breakfast or dinner. The salad received this name because the surface is decorated with fish tails, imitating fish in a pond. By increasing the proportions, this salad can be prepared for a formal table in a large salad bowl and, accordingly, decorated in the form of a huge pond and a huge number of fish. I prepared a salad for two for breakfast, so my portion is small. For the salad, you need to boil the potatoes and eggs in advance, cut the onion into cubes and fry with grated carrots in sunflower oil.

Peel the cooled potatoes, grate and place in the first layer, brush with mayonnaise.

Then add the fried onions and carrots.

Place the sprats without oil in a small bowl, set aside a few tails for the top design, and mash the others with a fork.

Place the sprats on top of the onions and carrots and apply the mayonnaise mesh to them.

Grate hard cheese and sprinkle sprat on top. Grease with mayonnaise.

Recipe for making salad with sprats

1. Finely chop the onion and marinate in vinegar. You can use any kind of vinegar, for example apple or table vinegar.

2. Boil potatoes in their jackets. Boil hard-boiled eggs. Cool and clean.

3. Mash a huge part of the sprat with a fork. It is better to drain the oil from the sprat. We leave a few whole fish for decorating the salad.

4. Place grated potatoes on a large grater as the first layer. If desired, coat the layer with mayonnaise.

5. Place the sprats mashed with a fork as a second layer. Place pickled onions on top of the sprats. Coat the layer with mayonnaise.

6. Grate the eggs on top of the onion on a large grater. 1 or 2 eggs can be thrown in to decorate the salad. Coat the layer with mayonnaise.

7. The final layer will be processed cheese grated on a large grater. In order for them to simply rub, it is better to put them in the freezer for at least 30 minutes.
