Step-by-step production

Step 1:

Prepare ingredients for making strudel. Thaw the dough in advance. The best way to do this is to do it slowly; to do this, put the dough from the freezer into the refrigerator for a few hours. But if you are limited on time, then simply cut the packaging and take out the layers of dough. Place them on the board separately, do not leave one on top of the other, the layers will thaw and stick together.

Step 2:

Break the bun into pieces and fill with milk. Leave it to soak for 10 minutes. After 5 minutes, turn the pieces over to coat evenly.

Step 3:

Peel the onion. Grate it on a small grater. You can chop the onion, but then it’s better to fry it later; large raw pieces will not decorate your minced meat. Instead of onions, you can add garlic. We like onions more, so no garlic.

Step 4:

Add the egg, salt and pepper to the bowl with the minced meat. Remove the crusts from the soft bun and squeeze out the pulp. Add the bun to the minced meat.

Step 5:

Stir the minced meat well, it should become completely homogeneous and soft. If the minced meat remains a little dry, add a little milk to it, in which the bun was soaked.

Step 6:

Roll out the dough on a floured work surface. You should get a rectangular narrow layer, several mm wide.

Step 7:

Place the minced meat on the dough, spread it moderately over the entire surface, retreating a few cm from the edges.

Step 8:

Roll the dough into a log. Do the same with the second layer. I made a slight mistake with it, rolled it out very thinly, there wasn’t enough minced meat to cover the entire surface, and the roll came out narrow and a little long. So when rolling out, be guided by the size of the baking sheet on which you will bake and the amount of minced meat.

Step 9:

Place the strudels on a baking sheet lined with parchment.

Step 10:

Lightly beat the egg in a separate bowl. Brush the rolls with egg wash using a pastry brush. Sprinkle the top with sesame seeds if desired.

Step 11:

Bake the strudels in the oven, previously preheated to 180°C, top-bottom mode, for about an hour, until golden brown. Cool the finished strudels slightly, cut and serve.

Appetizing strudel with minced meat, fried onions and cheese - a hearty pastry for lunch or dinner. A golden-brown, crispy crust that hides a juicy interior and dough that melts in your mouth—almost everyone will love this snack strudel!

For the test:
Flour – 300 g
Egg – 1 pc.
Water – 125 ml
Vegetable oil – 3 tbsp. spoons
Salt – 0.5 teaspoon

Minced meat – 400 g
Onions – 1 pc.
Soy sauce – 1 tbsp. spoon
Sugar – 1 teaspoon
Vegetable oil – 60 ml
Hard cheese – 80 g
Breadcrumbs – 2 tbsp. spoons
Salt - to taste
Ground black pepper - to taste

To grease the strudel:
Yolk – 1 pc.

Prepare the necessary ingredients.

Prepare the dough.
Pour boiled water at room temperature, sunflower oil into a bowl, beat in an egg and add salt.

Stir the combined ingredients with a spoon or whisk.

Knead the dough until it just holds the shape of a ball. Cover the dough with film and set aside.

Prepare the filling.
Peel the onion and cut into half rings.

Heat sunflower oil in a frying pan and fry the onion in it until transparent. Then pour soy sauce on the onion and sprinkle with sugar.

Continue to fry the onion over high heat for another 2-3 minutes. Transfer the finished onion from the frying pan to a plate.

Add a little oil to the same frying pan, heat it up and add the minced meat.

Fry the minced meat over high heat, adding salt and pepper while frying, until cooked through (about 10-12 minutes).

Grate the hard cheese on a large grater.

Turn on the oven to preheat to 180 degrees.
Roll out the dough on a floured table into a narrow rectangle or square. Roll out the dough as thin as you can make it.

Sprinkle the surface of the rolled out dough with breadcrumbs.

Then spread the minced meat and onions over the entire surface of the dough.

Sprinkle grated cheese on top of the filling.

Roll the dough with the insides into a roll.

Brush the roll with yolk.

Bake the strudel with minced meat in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for about 35-40 minutes.

Strudli with potatoes and meat - oh, how delicious it is!

Do you want to amuse your loved ones or amaze your guests with a tasty and satisfying dish? I suggest you try strudli. Convenient 3-in-1 dish. Meat, potatoes and fluffy dough rolls. It looks great on a formal table, but the set of products is also suitable for everyday life. If you have a piece of dumpling dough left over, you can create strudli from it.

  • Meat (any kind, I have pork ribs) - 500-700 g
  • Potatoes - 0.8-1 kg
  • Onion - 1-2 pcs
  • Carrots - 1 pc.
  • Salt, spices - to taste
  • Oil for frying - 2-3 tbsp.

  • Flour - ok. 2 stacks
  • Drink (plain porridge, watery yoghurt) - 150 g
  • Soda - 1/3 tsp.
  • Salt - 1/3 tsp.

Let's prepare the dough first, because it needs to rest before rolling out.

Pour salt, one glass of flour into a slightly warm drink and pour soda on top, stir.

Add the rest of the flour until you get a smooth dough that is easy to roll out. You will literally understand how much flour to add by looking at the dough.

We leave it to rest while we prepare everything else.

Don't forget to cover it from winding.

We cut the meat into pieces.

Fry in a small amount of oil.

I do this in a separate frying pan, because my duckling pan, in which I cook this dish, likes to bake the meat.

But you can immediately fry everything in one frying pan, first the meat, later add the onions, and later the carrots.

Fry the onion until there is a pleasant smell.

Add carrots.

Add the fried meat.

Fill with water until the meat is almost covered.

Add salt and spices to taste.

I didn't add anything other than greens.

Simmer over low heat.

How long to cook depends on the type of meat, beef longer, chicken less.

I stewed the pork for about an hour.

The meat must be actually ready so that there are no surprises.

You can simmer the chicken for about 20 minutes, it will finish with the potatoes.

But beef needs to be stewed especially well.

If necessary, add water during the process.

Peel the potatoes and cut into slices.

Roll out the strudel dough, the thinner the better.

Grease with oil (any kind of oil), sprinkle with herbs. Roll into a loose roll.

By the way, you can also use ordinary dumpling dough.

We cut the roll into pieces of 1.5-2 cm.

Place potatoes on top of the meat.

Fill with water.

It can be level with the potatoes, or a little lower; the strudels should actually be steamed.

Place our rolls on top of the potatoes.

Place on the fire, bring to a boil and cook under the lid until the potatoes are fully cooked.

About 30 minutes.
