It has long been clear to everyone that any dish, even the most ordinary and obvious one, comes out more delicious and rich in a slow cooker than when cooked under the most “usual” conditions. Although hodgepodge can hardly be classified as an obvious food, taking into account that its composition often includes expensive, selected products. But this rule also applies to her))

The development of making the famous first dish of Russian cuisine may vary from recipe to recipe. In some variants, preparatory frying of chopped ingredients in vegetable oil is done. In others, they are stewed before cooking, and in others, they are boiled immediately.
For example, one of the most common solyanka recipes is this: first, onions, cut into half rings, are fried in oil in a multicooker bowl. Then grated carrots are added to it. Fry for some time. Afterwards add tomatoes, rubbed through a sieve (replaceable with tomato paste). If the recipe includes cucumbers, then add them too, diced. Simmer for about three to five minutes. Next they send a tenderloin from a wide variety of smoked meats. These can be sausages, sausages, sausages, ham, bacon and so on.
Next come black olives or olives, cut into slices. Everything is filled with water to the appropriate level (usually multicookers have it). Close the lid tightly and bring it to full readiness with the set time. Usually it's about half an hour. The beauty of preparing hodgepodge using this method is that at the last step it can be postponed, for example, until the evening, by setting the turn-on time. Then, when you come home from work, a fragrant hodgepodge will be waiting for you, ready to eat, piping hot.

The main thing is to literally follow the order of placing goods, taking into account the characteristics of your own equipment. You also need to rely on time not on the numbers indicated in the recipe, but on what is written in the annotation directly to your model. So in the recipe it may be half an hour, while your average time for cooking soup will be indicated, say, 20 or 40 minutes.

Solyanka is not called the national team for nothing. To make it, you can use any products at your discretion. Here are some examples.
Add diced potatoes to create the most satisfying and thick dish. It can be prepared either on the stove or in a slow cooker. You just need to simmer this soup a little longer so that the potatoes have time to cook.
- With sausages and tomatoes
If your kids don't like meat, but love sausages. Prepare them a solyanka with sausages and tomatoes. Just be sure to add a little sugar to neutralize the acidity of the tomatoes. You can replace the freshest tomatoes with tomatoes in your juice. It will turn out no less tasty.
For vegetable eaters, a recipe with honey mushrooms is perfect. These mushrooms are prepared simply and quickly, and the smell is amazing. If you don’t have new honey mushrooms on hand, feel free to use pickled ones.
Solyanka with cabbage turns out thick and satisfying. If you use sauerkraut, the dish will turn out spicy and sour. A dish made from the freshest cabbage has the most tender taste.
The meat in the classic recipe can be completely replaced with minced meat. Choose any kind of minced meat: beef, pork, chicken. You can combine different types of minced meat. And if you also add potatoes and cabbage, then instead of soup you will get a dish that can be safely served for the second time.
Useful tips
- If your multicooker model does not have a “Frying” mode, you can set the “Baking” mode to fry ingredients. For the same purpose, you can use the “multi-cook” function and set the temperature to 160.
- Tomato paste can be replaced with ketchup. Only in this case there is no need to add sugar, because it is already contained in ketchup.
- If you are not in a hurry, then instead of the “Soup” mode, select the “Stew” mode for 2 hours. During this period of time, the products will fully reveal all their taste properties.
- I add a little cucumber pickle along with plain water. The main thing is to use pickle from homemade cucumbers, the quality of which you have no doubt about.
- Add lemon to the plate just before serving. Instead of slices, you can squeeze a little lemon juice. But under no circumstances add lemon while cooking. You risk getting a very sour and inedible food.
Conclusion
Solyanka is prepared simply in a slow cooker and comes out filling and fragrant. In addition, you have the opportunity to choose any comfortable cooking time. You can cook it quickly in 30 minutes, or you can quit simmering for 2 hours and go for a walk.
By adding different ingredients, you will get a new dish with an inimitable taste every time.

Aspects of manufacturing in multicookers Redmont, Polaris, Panasonic
The question often arises about which recipe to choose for making one or another shape in a slow cooker. There is no significant difference.
But there are individualities that are worth paying attention to:
- power – due to the parameter, production time may vary slightly;
- the volume of the multicooker bowl - the number of goods for the dish changes;
- availability of programs - for example, if there is no “Baking” program, you can use the “Frying” mode.
So, if the other day there was a feast and there were ingredients left from cold cuts, then making hodgepodge would be a good option. A multicooker will make the process easy and the result delicious.

Step-by-step recipe with photos
Hearty, fragrant, warming solyanka is a good first course option for the cold season. The version of solyanka that I would like to offer you now is solyanka in a slow cooker in chicken broth with chicken and hunting sausages.
The first time I prepared this hodgepodge on a whim - collecting everything that was in the refrigerator at that time. I didn’t have any particular desire to stand at the stove, so I loaded all the ingredients into the slow cooker. For me, this was a pure adventure, because I was even more accustomed to the usual hodgepodge in a rich meat broth. The result exceeded all my expectations and was so to the taste of my household that I had to urgently write down the recipe and repeat the hodgepodge again, but in even larger quantities. Fortunately, in terms of calorie content, it is even more figure-friendly than the classic versions.
Try to prepare a fragrant, rich hodgepodge in a slow cooker. Maybe this light version of hodgepodge with chicken broth will suit your taste too?!
Prepare the ingredients according to the list.
For the broth: pour 1.5–2 liters of cool water over the chicken. Add one or two bay leaves, a sliced onion, a few peppercorns, and a couple of carrot slices. Bring to a boil and simmer over low heat for 30–40 minutes.
To thicken the soup, after 10-15 minutes I add diced potatoes to the bubbling broth.
Meanwhile, prepare the other ingredients. Chop the onion, pickles and grate the carrots.
Add the onion to the multicooker bowl. Fry in the "Fry" mode for 5-7 minutes, until golden brown.
Add carrots and continue frying for another 5-7 minutes.
Add tomato paste and, after mixing, fry for another 10 minutes. Add tomato paste based on its taste. If the paste is quite concentrated - 3-4 tablespoons, or a little more if the taste of tomatoes is weak.
Add chopped pickles to the mixture of vegetables and tomatoes and, after mixing, fry for another 5 minutes.
Add chicken pieces and chopped smoked sausages. Stir everything well and fry for another 5-7 minutes. I use chicken broth and smoked Jaeger sausages.
Pour in the prepared chicken broth with the potato pieces. Add a handful of chopped olives. I also add a few pinches of capers, but that's according to ability. Add a pinch of salt, reddish and black pepper.
Switch the multicooker to the “Soup” mode and cook the hodgepodge for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes, add spices - ground cumin and coriander, paprika and a few whispers of suneli hops. Sprinkle the hodgepodge with the freshest herbs, add a couple of slices of lemon, more olives, and capers if desired.
Solyanka in a slow cooker with chicken broth is ready! You can serve!
