Caesar salad with chicken at home: recipe with mayonnaise
Caesar salad is a very unique dish. And almost everyone believes that if you change at least one ingredient in it, it won’t be nearly as tasty as it should be. But housewives who strive for simplicity are convinced that in such options the dish not only loses nothing, but also acquires an extraordinary zest, receives a piece of soul and becomes homely savory.
Everyone understands that Caesar is prepared with a special sauce of the same name. But you can simply replace it with mayonnaise. Try it and you will see that you do not risk spoiling the taste of the dish at all.
- chicken fillet 400 g
- lettuce leaves 50 g
- Chinese cabbage 300 g
- mayonnaise 180 g
- garlic 2 cloves
- eggs 2 pcs.
- tomatoes 200 g
- snow white bread 200 g
- hard cheese 150 g
- sunflower oil 40 ml
- salt to taste
Tip: you can use regular oven-dried crackers for Caesar. But according to the recipe, it is necessary to put exactly these - croutons. They differ from ordinary ones not only in their garlic taste, but also in the fact that, having a hard, crispy crust, the inside remains soft, which makes Caesar salad with garlic mayonnaise especially tasty.
It is obvious that this is a dish that cannot be prepared in advance. You can keep all the ingredients in the refrigerator, but you need to “assemble” it just before serving. Otherwise, tender lettuce leaves and cabbage will release juice and soften under the influence of salt. The same thing will happen with breadcrumbs: having been moistened by the sauce, they will lose their friability and stop crunching.
So, serving Caesar, no matter what recipe it is prepared according to, must be served exactly this way, without combining the ingredients. Cook with pleasure and don’t be afraid to simplify the composition. Try to create a Caesar salad with chicken at home; the recipe with mayonnaise tastes no worse than the original, as you can see for yourself. Bon appetit!

Caesar salad with mayonnaise: from ordinary to unique recipes. How to make a delicious Caesar salad with mayonnaise
The salad, beloved by almost everyone, which Chef Caesar concocted from the remains of various goods for eminent guests, is original both in its appearance, the ingredients included in the dish, and its inimitable taste. For almost all years, a specially prepared egg-based sauce has been used as a salad dressing.
But now, thanks to the abundance of recipes, tests and the imagination of experienced chefs and ordinary housewives, it is possible to prepare Caesar salad with products different from the original ones, seasoning it with our usual mayonnaise. At the same time, such a salad will turn out to be no less tasty and only the most experienced restaurateur or gourmet will be able to see the difference from the original.
Caesar salad with mayonnaise - general principles
What's so good about this salad? It can include a variety of products. Be sure to have croutons, lettuce leaves and cheese, everything else is at your discretion: chicken, fish, cherry tomatoes, seafood, quail eggs and other ingredients.
All products are crushed and cut using the method indicated in the recipe and placed in the freshest salad, except for meat, seafood and eggs: they are either fried or boiled in advance.
Salad croutons are prepared independently. Just cut the freshest bread into small cubes, place them on a dry baking sheet and put them in the oven for a couple of minutes. For a special taste, it is permissible to season the crackers: for example, with paprika, herbs, garlic.
Mayonnaise can be purchased ready-made or created independently. If you take a sold product, choose a high-quality product that does not contain emulsifiers or other “chemicals”. Homemade mayonnaise, although more troublesome, is even tastier and healthier. It can be prepared from vegetable oil, sugar, salt, raw eggs, lemon juice and various additives (mustard, cucumber pickle, spices).

Caesar salad with mayonnaise - secrets and subtleties
• Lettuce leaves will not darken if you tear them with your hands instead of cutting them. It tastes best if you eat Romaine lettuce.
• If lettuce leaves have lost their appearance while lying in the refrigerator, you can refresh them and give them their original freshness by placing them in ice water for 15-20 minutes.
• Crautons with a light garlic flavor will give the salad an exciting taste. Preparing them is simple: squeeze a few cloves of garlic into a hot frying pan, fry lightly, then carefully remove the garlic, and put the previously prepared croutons into the oil for a few minutes.
• Prepare Caesar salad just before serving on portioned plates. “Standing” salad will soften, losing its taste properties and its appetizing appearance.
• You can decorate the finished Caesar salad according to your own taste: boiled quail eggs, cherry halves, cucumber or sweet pepper rings, sprigs of herbs. Bon appetit.

Caesar salad with chicken with mayonnaise: noteworthy production options
Delicious salads occupy a special space on any table - be it a formal occasion or an ordinary dinner. But there are dishes that are prepared for special occasions, and Caesar salad with chicken and mayonnaise can easily be classified as such salads. Why is he special? Therefore, during a daily meal, due to its own nutritional parameters, it can become a complete main course, and a decently decorated Caesar salad on a formal table will become a real work of art.
History of salad
Most quickly, any cook and culinary specialist understands the history of the Caesar salad. In fact, this salad was created from the leftover ingredients for the guests of the tavern of the cook Caesar, who fled from Italy to Mexico, where he opened a small tavern for parishioners.
One evening, guests from Hollywood itself rested in this tavern, since at that time Prohibition was in force in the states, and in Mexico it was possible to drink in public places. The guests were so wild that the tavern chef no longer had anything to feed them. It was then that he combined in one dish the remaining pieces of snow-white bread, fried in vegetable oil with garlic, lettuce, Parmesan cheese, tomatoes, pieces of fried chicken and a specially prepared dressing for the dish based on raw eggs. The result eclipsed all expectations not only of the guests, but also of Caesar himself. This is how a new and very tasty dish appeared in world cuisine, which has been prepared by housewives in various parts of our planet for almost 100 years.
Chicken salad recipe with mayonnaise
Naturally, it is quite difficult to call a salad prepared not according to a traditional recipe by its well-known name, but most often housewives in various countries use mayonnaise as a dressing. This is explained by the simplicity of making the sauce, especially since mayonnaise contains eggs, which were present in the unique dressing for this salad.
You can also make mayonnaise on your own. In addition, the combination of mayonnaise with chicken and hard cheese gives an unsurpassed taste that all gourmets enjoy with pleasure.
So, to make a Caesar salad based on chicken and mayonnaise, you will need:
- 2 chicken fillet halves
- 1 tomato
- green lettuce leaves
- 200 g hard cheese, preferably Parmesan
- 1 pack of crackers
- 1 clove of garlic
- mustard
- vegetable oil.
Chicken breast can be boiled, or you can fry it in vegetable oil, add salt and pepper. Cut the finished fillet pieces into small pieces.
Cut the tomatoes into cubes and mix with the chicken. These two ingredients are seasoned with mayonnaise and mixed.
Place green lettuce leaves on a plate. Tomatoes with chicken in mayonnaise are laid out on the salad. Then hard cheese is grated on top and the whole thing is sprinkled with crackers. If the croutons are purchased, then before adding them to the salad, they need to be mixed in a sauce of garlic and mustard squeezed through garlic and mustard. This will give the salad more spiciness and flavor, which is so needed for appetizers. If croutons are prepared from snow-white bread, then the garlic is fried together with the croutons in vegetable oil, which will give them a special smell, and then the croutons are sprinkled with mustard a little.
You can also decorate the top of the salad with torn lettuce leaves.
Caesar salad options
In addition to its main components, other ingredients are often added to a salad recipe. The salad turns out to be very tasty with the addition of eggs, and at the same time it is better than quail ones. They give the dish not only special sophistication, but also nutritional value. You can safely use smoked chicken as a special ingredient. Some experimenters even add mushrooms to the salad, although raw champignons are best.
If you add avocado to the salad, the dish will only benefit from this. From time to time it is diluted with pieces of apples or even peaches.
But as an addition to the dressing, you can use soy sauce or adjika based on plums, which will add sourness to the dish and thereby make it even more unusual.
After adding some ingredients, the Caesar salad may not look at all like a salad of this type, but sometimes creativity does not harm the dish and the memory of its consumption. Therefore, feel free to add the remaining ingredients to the salad and enjoy its extraordinary performance. The main thing is just not to overdo it with additional ingredients.
