But not so long ago I found out about the benefits of banana peel; it turns out that it contains a lot of potassium, which speeds up metabolism, which helps burn fat. This is a beautiful weight loss product! It also contains substances that help the immune system and increase the overall resistance of the body.
And most importantly, it makes beautiful, tasty dishes!
And none of your guests will even guess what you made your delicious treat from!
And now, I just decided to stew banana peels according to one recipe.
I was just making apple and banana pies and had banana peels left over.
For 5 skins I needed one large onion, garlic, dark pepper, salt and mayonnaise.
First, cut the skin randomly.
Now we need to simmer it in a frying pan with ordinary water for about 30 minutes, so that the water evaporates.
Meanwhile, prepare the onions and garlic.
Cut the onion into half rings.
Finely chop the garlic.
When the water has completely evaporated, pour 3 tablespoons of oil into the pan with the skin.
Later we will add onions and garlic.
Mix everything, add salt and ground dark pepper.
Simmer everything until the onion is soft, stirring.
Add 3 tablespoons of mayonnaise.
Mix everything and simmer for another 5-7 minutes.
Our banana peel is ready! Guests will never guess what these tasty mushrooms are!
Banana peel dishes

After separating the tail from the bananas, divide the skin into segments, and then cut any of the parts into centimeter-thick strips. Place the banana peel pieces in a heavy saucepan and then place it over the heat. Pour in about a glass of sugar and leave everything to warm up until the crystals turn into caramel and this caramel comes to a boil. Remove the dishes from the heat and repeat the same operation for another 6 days in a row: put the saucepan on the fire, boil the caramel and remove it from the heat. After time has passed, leave the darkened and syrup-soaked pieces of banana peel to dry on parchment for another day, and then take a sample.
What to cook with banana peels? – banana tea
If you want to make an unusual caffeine-free tea, then the yellowish skins of ripe bananas will come to the rescue. After cutting them as desired, add water to cover, and then boil for about 10 minutes. Leave the tea to cool for a similar period of time, and then strain it through a sieve. Drink it hot just like that or with the addition of honey.
Banana peel stew
You can even create a hot dish based on bananas, for example, this ordinary stew that came from tropical countries. Together with banana peel, the base of the dish is canned beans, but you can choose any legumes to your own taste.
Ingredients:
- peel of 4 bananas;
- turmeric – 1 teaspoon;
- vegetable oil – 15 ml;
- canned beans – 1/2 cup;
- mustard seeds – 1/2 teaspoon;
- coconut flakes - 2 tbsp. spoons;
- juice of 1 lime.
Manufacturing
Boil chopped banana peel with turmeric and a pinch of salt for 5 minutes. Heat oil and fry mustard seeds in it until they start to pop. Add beans, banana and coconut flakes to the bowl, then squeeze the lime, salt the dish and pour in another half a glass of water. When all the water has evaporated, the stew will be ready.
What dish can be made from banana peels?
In this recipe, the banana peel will serve not as the main edible ingredient, but as a shell for it. Once cooked, you will have meat full of typical Asian flavors.
Ingredients:
- orange juice – 115 ml;
- garlic – 2 cloves;
- oregano – 1 1/2 teaspoons;
- a handful of cilantro;
- pork – 410 g;
- rice (long grain) – 1 tbsp.;
- bananas – 5 pcs.
Manufacturing
Start by marinating the meat, first cutting it into pieces that will fit inside a banana peel. Salt the pork slices, season with oregano, crushed garlic and cilantro. Leave for at least half an hour. Wash the rice and add water. Leave to swell for 1-2 hours.
Before preparing a banana peel dish, prepare the peel itself by making a narrow longitudinal cut from one end of the banana to the other and removing the sweet pulp from it. Drain the rice and mix the grain with the meat. Fill the banana skins with the mixture and place them on the mesh of the steamer. Leave to cook for 1 hour.
