Video recipe: Banana puffs
Step-by-step recipe with photos and videos
Banana puffs are a beautiful twist on a beautiful, simple and delicious dessert. Made from ready-made puff pastry, complemented by the usual but very appetizing insides of ripe bananas and pieces of dark chocolate, the puffs are airy, rosy, fragrant and indescribably tempting to the taste, and what’s important is that the process of making such mouth-watering pastries takes just a few minutes.
This delicacy is a godsend for occasions when you want to pamper yourself and your family without spending a lot of time in the kitchen. The thinnest layers of crispy dough, the pleasant contrast of melted bitter dark chocolate and the juiciness, sweetness and smell of banana slices - a win-win combination that will not leave anyone indifferent. Try it!
To make banana puffs from puff pastry, you will need the ingredients indicated in the list.
Sprinkle the table with a small amount of wheat flour, defrost and roll out the puff pastry thinly.
Cut the dough into portions of the desired size.
At the mental level, divide any piece of puff pastry into two parts. One part (for example, the left half of the piece) will become the top of the puff, the second (respectively, the right side) will become the basis for the inside. Stepping back approximately 0.5 centimeters from the edge, sprinkle half of each piece of dough with a pinch of ground cinnamon and sugar.
Add a few pieces of chocolate.
And 5-6 thin slices of banana.
Make 3-4 small cuts on the free side of each piece of dough. Then bring the edges of the dough together and pinch tightly. If desired, dip the tines of a fork into the flour and press the edges of the dough further to outline the dough and lightly decorate the puff pastries.
Brush the surface of the resulting pieces with egg yolk and place the puff pastries on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. If the paper is not non-stick, grease it with a thin layer of vegetable oil in advance.
Place the prepared puff pastries in an oven preheated to 180 degrees and bake for 15 minutes until golden brown.
Crispy, golden brown puff pastries with banana and chocolate are ready. Serve dessert to the table.
Pie with apples and bananas made from puff pastry
An example of a frisky, savory and fragrant pastry is a pie with apples and bananas made from puff pastry. If guests announced their arrival almost half an hour in advance and you have a couple of apples in the refrigerator, as well as ready-made dough, then this step-by-step recipe with photos is literally for you.
The entire manufacturing process will take you approximately 40 minutes. Because you don’t need to knead the dough, most of your time will be spent on baking. Therefore, at this time you can set the table, and the cake for tea will be ready later. And so, you have prepared all the ingredients, so start creating the pie.
Ingredients:
- store-bought dough (puff pastry) – 500 grams;
- apples – 2 pcs.;
- banana – 1 pc.;
- sweet sand - 3 tbsp. spoons;
- ground cinnamon – 1 teaspoon;
- chicken egg – 1 pc.
Manufacturing method
The first thing you need to do is take the dough out of the freezer. It should defrost perfectly, this will take about 20 minutes. Remove the dough from the bag and leave it on the table, having previously sprinkled it with wheat flour.
While the dough is defrosting, prepare the filling. Wash the apples and cut into strips. Transfer to a bowl.
Add ground cinnamon to apples.
Add sugar and stir well.
Peel the banana and cut into cubes. Add to apples.
Roll out the finished dough very slightly and cut into two parts lengthwise. Place the filling lengthwise in the center of each layer of dough.
Now wrap the dough so that the inside is inside and does not fall out.
Finish the edges as you like. The main thing is that the inside is inside. You can use a regular fork.
Cover the form with parchment and grease with oil. First place one part of the dough along the edge, then place the second part of the dough in the center in a circle.
Brush the top of the pie with a beaten egg. If desired, you can sprinkle the top with sugar, sesame seeds, and nuts. But this is not necessary.
Place the pan in the oven and bake for about 30 minutes.
This is the result.
Enjoy your tea!
Two banana layer cake recipes of your choice
The first recipe attracts with its simplicity and sophistication. I like to serve it to guests with ice cream or whipped cream.
Ingredients:
Butter – 60 g
Sweet powder – 160 g
Zest of 1 orange
Cinnamon – ¼ teaspoon
Banana – 4 pcs
Puff pastry (yeast-free)
Manufacturing:
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Cut the butter into cubes and melt, add sugar and stir. 2. Cook for about 5 minutes until the sugar is completely dissolved (the mixture should caramelize and become golden in color).
3. At this time, peel the bananas, cut them lengthwise and place them in the caramel.
Remove from heat, sprinkle with cinnamon and zest. 4. Roll out the dough. Place in a round pie pan. Place bananas on top and pour syrup. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
The 2nd recipe came out impromptu. I and everyone at home really liked it. It prepares quickly, which is important.
COMPOUND
1 kg puff pastry,
6 small bananas,
400 g sour cream,
0.5 sticks of butter,
1 cup sugar,
vanillin
Lightly roll out the puff pastry shortcakes.
Bake the shortcakes. Divide any by two (you get 8 cakes). You can brown one and crumble it for dusting. I usually remove the top fragile layer from everything (it crumbles on its own).
Cut the bananas into thin slices.
For the cream, beat sour cream, butter and sugar + vanillin (I added butter because there was no homemade sour cream, but if the sour cream is quite fatty, then, naturally, the cream is made without butter).
Next, assemble the cake: place the shortcakes with the cut side up, grease them well with cream and lay out the banana circles, with the next shortcake on top.
Grease the outer crust and sides of the cake with cream and sprinkle with the remaining crumbs. It is better to let it sit overnight (that is, in the dark) . Instead of bananas, you can use cherries, and instead of sour cream, whipped cream. You can increase the amount of sugar in the cream.

Puff pastries with banana and chocolate
Friday, February 5, 2016
I continue to share with you new homemade baking recipes. Now I propose to prepare airy and very tender puff pastries with banana and chocolate. They are simply made for comfortable home tea drinking: the juicy, fragrant and sweet interior mixes perfectly with the shaggy puff pastry. This recipe for savory and savory pastries is so simple and straightforward that even a beginner in cooking can handle it.
I used homemade puff pastry without yeast. Believe me, the taste of finished baked goods from it is fundamentally different from those that can be prepared using store-bought ones. Well, it’s easy to create such a dough - the main thing is not to rush and follow the instructions correctly.
Bananas can be used both unripe and with already darkened skin. I have milk chocolate with nuts according to the children’s order. For myself, I would choose the bitter one (my favorite) - it perfectly sets off the sweetness of the bananas and adds a note of piquancy to the finished baked goods.
Ingredients:
Making a dish step by step:
To make delicious homemade puff pastries, take puff pastry without yeast, bananas, chocolate and a chicken egg to grease the dough.
First, we immediately turn on the oven to heat up to 230 degrees, because forming puff pastries is a fast-paced business. Roll out the puff pastry without yeast into a rectangular layer, lightly sprinkling the table with flour.
Cut into squares. I have 12, not 6 pieces (I wrote exactly this number of servings), because I have twice as much dough here and I baked not only banana puffs, but also apple puffs.
You can choose the method for forming the puffs yourself, but this is what I suggest. Using a sharp knife (it’s very convenient to do this with a pizza cutter, then the dough doesn’t stretch behind the blade) cut the dough on one side.
Place 5-7 banana slices on the second half of the dough. Brush the edges of the dough with egg white.
Add chopped chocolate on top. Just chop it not very finely with a sharp knife.
Place the loose half of the dough on top of the inside and press the edges. And now, for greater conviction, let’s go through the sides with a fork - it will turn out great, too.
Place the banana and chocolate puffs on a baking tray lined with baking paper. I greased the parchment with oil, because now I got a low-quality one and everything sticks to it. Now you can brush the puff pastries with egg yolk.
Bake banana puffs in a previously preheated oven for about 20 minutes at 220-230 degrees. It is not allowed to create a lower temperature for puff pastry, because otherwise it will not exfoliate - the oil will simply flow out onto the paper, and the layers will stick together.
The finished puff pastries need to be cooled slightly (or completely - it’s up to you) and you can enjoy them.
I hope you will like this simple recipe for delicious homemade pastries and you will certainly pamper your loved ones with wonderful puff pastries with banana and chocolate!
