As for the history of how this recipe appeared on our menu, there are two versions.

The first testifies that at first pudding was only a separate type of oatmeal, which was cooked in meat or chicken broth and honey, nuts, prunes and bread crumbs were added to it.

Such porridge should have been served very hot. A little later, before serving, the pudding began to be doused with cognac and set on fire, which is why its English name began to sound like “pudding on fire.”

The second version says that Christmas pudding originated as a special type of canned meat. They were prepared like this back then: the meat was placed in dough with prunes (this dried fruit served as a preservative at that time). From time to time, the meat was boiled over low heat with the addition of spices and sugar.

And only even later the composition of the pudding begins to approximately resemble what we are used to now: fruit, fat, sugar, spices, flour. In addition, its appearance will also improve. But in the homeland of pudding, in Great Britain, it is still primarily a Christmas dish.

Even if one wants to, it is virtually impossible to define pudding. First, of course, pudding is a dessert. The only thing is that you can only indicate the main ingredients, without which the pudding is not a pudding at all. This is flour, butter or other fat, spices and various fruit ingredients or chocolate. As a watery composition - eggs, milk, and from time to time a small amount of alcohol - cognac or rum.

In our age of modern household appliances, preparing pudding is not only quite quick, but also simple. Especially if your kitchen has such magical technology as a multicooker.

Pudding in a slow cooker comes out very tasty and tender, and its preparation does not take much effort and time. There are a huge number of pudding recipes, but I especially want to highlight the chocolate one.

Chocolate pudding in a slow cooker - recipe

- 50 g soft butter

- 125 g breadcrumbs

- 2 tbsp. grated almonds

Mix cocoa with breadcrumbs, cream and milk. Leave for 10 minutes.

Grind soft butter with sugar, add flour, yolk and soda.

Curd pudding

In order to prepare cottage cheese pudding in a slow cooker, you need to prepare the following ingredients:

  • 500 g of cottage cheese (it is better to take 9%)
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2 chicken eggs
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • Butter (to taste)
  • ½ cup raisins
  • ½ teaspoon vanillin
  • ½ teaspoon salt.

The recipe for curd pudding in a slow cooker looks like this:

First, place the cottage cheese in a large bowl. Carefully knead the cottage cheese with a fork, and then add sugar to it. Mix everything well. Semolina pudding

Let's look at the recipe for semolina pudding in a slow cooker. In order to prepare semolina pudding in a slow cooker, you need to take:

  • 500 ml milk
  • 50 g semolina
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 50 g butter
  • 1 packet of vanillin
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder.

Recipe for making semolina pudding in a slow cooker:

Place semolina in a multicooker bowl. Fill everything with 2.5% milk, add sugar, and set the “Cooking” mode. Cook semolina porridge in a multicooker for about 30 - 35 minutes (with the lid closed).

Add melted butter and vanillin to the prepared semolina porridge. Mix everything well. It is best to use a blender.

Semolina pudding in a slow cooker can be made snow-white or brown. If you want to create brown pudding, then you need to mix the resulting mass with cocoa powder. After this, put everything in molds and put it in the refrigerator. Wait for it to cool completely (approximately 2 hours).

Banana pudding
