At the moment, you can try hot chocolate in virtually any cafe or restaurant. We offer you the opportunity to prepare hot chocolate at home without the help of others. This is the only way you can control the properties of the ingredients used, follow the recipe and individualize the taste.

A few useful tips:

  • use chocolate of at least 70% to obtain a natural taste with the appropriate bitterness;
  • cream in the composition increases fat content, it is better to use it in combination with milk;
  • Liqueurs, crushed nuts, marshmallows, and spices can be used as additives.

Traditional hot chocolate recipe

  • 500 ml milk;
  • 70 g bittersweet chocolate (70% and above);
  • 30 g milk chocolate;
  • 70 ml cream 33%.

Heat 200 ml of milk over low heat in a saucepan. Add chocolate broken into pieces. Do not bring to a boil.

Pour in the remaining milk. Stir frequently with a whisk until the mixture is homogeneous.

To make hot chocolate even tastier, add spices to the drink, such as nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, and garnish with marshmallows. A little trick - a small pinch of salt will help highlight the sweetness and taste of hot chocolate.

Thick hot chocolate

  • milk – 500 ml;
  • dark chocolate – 100 g bar;
  • corn starch – 15 g;
  • honey – 30 g;
  • vanilla extract or vanilla sugar - to taste;
  • cream 33% - 50 ml;
  • salt - a pinch.

In the first step, mix starch and 100 ml of milk. Quit swell.

Next, heat the remaining milk in a saucepan over low heat. Bring to a boil, but do not boil. Remove from heat and add chocolate, honey and vanilla extract to hot milk.

Mix the starch and the mixture obtained in the second step. Stir until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Add salt. Whip the cream.
