A very tasty chicken heart salad - my husband loves it

The set of products for a salad with chicken hearts according to the proposed recipe is ordinary and obvious, but the result exceeds all expectations. This salad has become my husband's favorite.

Not every experienced housewife will undertake to prepare a dish from offal, which can already be said about those who decided to try cooking for the first time. There are a lot of questions that arise here: how much to cook, how to cook, how to clean, etc. In reality, everything is not so scary and difficult.

By faithfully following the steps of the recipe, you can prepare a tasty and satisfying salad from chicken hearts, which will become a frequent guest on the daily table, and there is no shame in decorating a formal occasion with it.

Ingredients:

  • Chicken hearts – 750 g;
  • Onions (large) – 2 pcs.;
  • Carrots – 3 pcs.;
  • Pickled cucumbers – 4 pcs.;
  • Salt – 2.5 pinches;
  • Dark ground pepper - 2 pinches;
  • Allspice – 6 peas;
  • Lavrushka – 1 pc.;
  • Vegetable oil for frying.

Stages of making a dish:

Fill the defrosted chicken hearts at room temperature with cool, clean water, add a small pinch of salt and leave to soak for about 30-40 minutes.

Then we put the hearts in a colander and start cutting up the offal. With a sharp knife you need to cut off all the fat and certainly the tubes. When cutting, apply light pressure so that blood clots come out (internal environment of the human and animal body) . Soak the cleaned hearts again in cool water for 5 minutes.

Expressing hearts. Pour a huge amount of boiling water over the meat. Bring to a boil again, reduce the heat and cook the offal over medium heat for 10 minutes, no more. Be sure to drain the first cloudy broth.

We wash the hearts in running water. Fill with cool water and bring to a boil. The water level in the pan should be slightly higher than the meat.

Add aromatic pepper, dark ground pepper and bay leaf to the boiled hearts. Cook with spices for 20 minutes.

Next, add salt and cook for another 5 minutes. It’s time to check the readiness of the offal. We take the largest specimen out of the pan and press it on it with a spoon. If clear juice flows out, the hearts are ready. If a pinkish liquid appears, continue to cook a little more.

Transfer the chicken hearts to a plate and leave until completely cool.

While we cool the meat, let's get to other ingredients for the salad. Peel the onions, rinse and cut into medium half rings. Transfer to a frying pan with heated vegetable oil and, stirring, fry until golden brown.

Cut the pickled cucumbers into narrow strips.

We also cut the previously peeled and washed carrots into narrow strips. Place the tenderloin in a frying pan with heated vegetable oil and fry until soft.

Transfer the cooled fried onions into a deep bowl.

We also place the cooled fried carrots in a bowl.

Add chopped cucumber strips to the prepared products.

Cut the cooled chicken hearts into rings and add to the ingredients in the bowl.

All that remains is to add mayonnaise, salt and pepper to your own taste. Mix well. Place the prepared salad in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

Salad of chicken hearts with carrots and pickled cucumbers is ready! The salad can be served in portions, decorated to your own taste.
