Hello, dear readers! I’m here for you now with a salad recipe from the “hot pursuit” series. The whole point is that practically this weekend we celebrated my anniversary (you can guess how many for yourself :razz:). And I treated my guests to this delicious seafood salad. We love them very much!

So, meet squid and mussels salad , which is very easy to prepare! By the way, this is not the first salad with squid on the Domovenok-Art blog. You will find another very exciting recipe here: “Sea Robber” salad . And there I was just talking about why this sea dweller is so useful. So I recommend it! And we will move on to manufacturing.

For 2 common plates we will need:

  • frozen squid – 8 pcs. small;
  • mussels in brine – 400 gr. (2 small containers);
  • onion – 1 medium head;
  • mayonnaise – 3-4 tablespoons;
  • vinegar, sugar - a tablespoon.

How to prepare salad with mussels and squid

1. The most tedious step in making this squid salad is cleaning the squid itself. I buy them whole, with tentacles. Their taste is even better compared to frozen peeled carcasses. But cutting such squids takes a lot of time. So, we remove the insides of the squid, remove the films from the carcass and tentacles.

2. Boil water. Meanwhile, peel and cut the onion into quarter rings. In order for the onion to complement our excellent salad, it must first be marinated. Mix the onion with sugar, sprinkle with vinegar and pour boiling water. Leave for 15 minutes covered.

3. In the meantime, cook the squid. We just remember that it is not allowed to boil for a long time, otherwise the meat will become rubber. I usually cook them like this: throw them into boiling salted water in small portions. As soon as it boils, I turn down the gas and count to 60. Then I take it out. And so on.

4. Our squid for seafood salad is ready. Cut them into strips.

5. Open the mussels (I had them in brine, they are sold in jars) and drain the brine. If you come across small aquatic plants, remove them. Mix with squid.

We also drain the water from the onion and add it to the seafood.

We season everything with mayonnaise, homemade . And now our squid and mussel salad is ready! Let's try!

The taste is just good. From time to time it is worth pampering yourself with a seafood salad. And on a formal table, such a salad flies away very quickly (one of the first). Tested. In general, I recommend it!

The mussel and squid salad, the recipe for which is presented below, is quite simple, some products in it can be changed, the main thing is that there are a lot of vegetables. This seafood salad will not only be tasty, but also very healthy.

What ingredients are needed to prepare a delicious salad with mussels and squid?

Ingredients for the dish

  • Clam – 1 pc.
  • Mussels – 100 g.
  • Peeled shrimp – 100 g.
  • Chicken eggs – 3 pcs.
  • Lemon – 3 pieces
  • Fresh cucumber – 2 pcs.
  • Sweet pepper – 1 pc.
  • Mayonnaise or yogurt – – to taste
  • A little greenery (dill, parsley) – – to taste
  • Salt and ground pepper – – to taste

Making a dish step by step

First, cook the eggs for 10 minutes from the moment they boil; You can add a little salt for better cleaning. Then cool in cool water, peel and cut into cubes.

We defrost the seafood and then rinse it thoroughly under running water. Then we put them in boiling water for 3-5 minutes, but not for more, otherwise they will become hard and will be difficult to chew!

We cut the cucumbers into small cubes; if the skin is bitter, then you need to cut it off immediately with a knife.

Mix all ingredients, add salt and pepper to your taste. You can season it with mayonnaise or yogurt (not sweet, homemade is better). For decoration, you can place a few lemon slices on top.

In fact, if you prepare this salad correctly, according to a unique recipe, then as a standard it should be seasoned with a sauce that contains vinegar and olive oil. But homemade yogurt or mayonnaise will not spoil the salad. Don’t be afraid to experiment, even if you prepare this salad with a different dressing every time - it will already be considered new! Recipe for “Mussels and squid salad “Abyss of the Sea””:

Prepare products according to recipe. Boil the mussels for 5 minutes. Boil the eggs. Clean the squid and boil for 3 minutes.

Cut the mushrooms into slices, finely chop the onion and fry with the mushrooms until cooked. Add mussels and fry for another 5 minutes.

Cut the crab meat into cubes. Cut the squid into strips. Cut the eggs into cubes. Cool the mussels and mushrooms. Mix all.

Season with mayonnaise.

  • green onions for serving.

Cut the onion into half rings and crush slightly, sprinkle with salt, sugar, pour over vinegar and leave to marinate.

Squids and mussels can be taken fresh or frozen. Saute the mussels in butter. When finished, you can place it on a paper towel to remove excess oil.

If the shellfish is not peeled, then its skin can be removed even more easily if it is washed under hot water or lightly scalded. To prepare the peeled clam, keep it in boiling water for no longer than 5 minutes, otherwise it will be tough. Then cut into strips.

We also cut the boiled eggs into strips, mix all our preparations in a salad bowl, and season with mayonnaise. We serve the dish with green onions or other fresh herbs. Our festive salad with squid and mussels is ready.
