Yeast dough for pizza

Yeast dough for pizza

This pizza dough recipe can be safely called universally suitable and very successful, because the result is consistently amazing. The base for pizza on this yeast dough is not only tasty, but, what is important, it simply rolls out into a narrow layer, and this is so important for true pizza.

You can halve the ingredients in the recipe if you plan to make one huge pizza. In total, from the indicated ingredients you will get 600 grams of dough, which is suitable for making 3 pizzas, the diameter of which is approximately 25 cm.

We use salt (for taste) and sugar (for the best yeast reaction) to a minimum. The water that is added to the pizza dough must under no circumstances be hot and at the same time not slightly warm - just for the yeast to work, so that it is heated just above the temperature of the human body, in other words, approximately 38 degrees.

Ingredients:

Making a dish step by step:

First you need to prepare the necessary products for making yeast pizza dough: sifted wheat flour, dry active yeast, warm boiled water, olive oil and a pinch of salt and sugar. If you don’t have active yeast, you can use compressed or simply dry yeast. Then it will be necessary to wake them up, in other words, activate them. To do this, dilute them for 15 minutes in warm water with the addition of a pinch of sugar. The corresponding yeast cap will have to rise - the yeast has awakened and is ready to work.

I have specifically dry active yeast, which is added directly to the flour. Mix everything. Add salt and sugar and combine everything again.

Gently pour warm water into the dry mixture and lightly mix the dough with a spoon.

Now add olive oil - at this step a spoon is no longer needed, because you need to knead the pizza dough with your hands until it is homogeneous and smooth. It will take about 15 minutes to knead.

When the dough becomes soft and smooth, cover the bowl with the kolobok with a towel and place in a warm space to proof for 40 minutes.

Yeast pizza dough rises very well - it literally increases three times in size.

We knead it, make a bun again and leave it alone for another 20 minutes.

The dough has risen perfectly again and is 100% ready to go.

Yeast pizza dough

Yeast pizza dough is the most successful and common dough option for making pizza at home. The yeast dough comes out tender and soft. It holds the filling perfectly and does not tear even when you roll it out to a thickness of 2 mm.

If you like a thin pizza with a lot of inside, prepare the dough for it using this recipe. With 1/2 cup of water, two thin sheets of dough the size of a regular baking sheet come out.

Ingredients

  • Warm water – 0.5 cups
  • Dry yeast – 2/3 teaspoon
  • Sugar – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt – 0.5 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil – 1.5 tbsp. spoons
  • Egg – 1 piece
  • Flour – 2 cups

Manufacturing

Step 1

Prepare the ingredients for the dough. Pour half a glass of warm water. The water must be very warm, but not hot, otherwise the yeast will brew. Pour about a glass of flour into a bowl.

Step 2

Pour 2/3 teaspoon of dry yeast into a glass of warm water, add sugar there and mix thoroughly. Break an egg into a bowl with flour, add vegetable oil and salt.

Step 3

Pour water with yeast and sugar into a bowl and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.

Step 4

Add flour little by little and knead the dough. The amount of flour can be adjusted independently. The finished dough should be relatively soft, but not sticky. We leave the dough to stand for 15 - 20 minutes, after which you can start making pizza.

Step 5

The indicated amount of ingredients usually produces two thin sheets of dough the size of a regular baking sheet. Therefore, we divide the dough into two parts.

Step 6

Roll out the dough into a sheet about 3 mm wide and place on a greased baking sheet. Add sauce and toppings to your taste and place in the oven. Pizza cooks quite quickly (15 - 20 minutes over medium heat). It is better to check the degree of readiness by lifting the edge of the pizza. The bottom part of the pizza should acquire a light golden color in places, like lavash. Do not over-dry, otherwise the pizza will turn out dry.

Small tricks

Yeast pizza dough is prepared in a matter of minutes. The main thing here is not to dry it out so that the pizza remains juicy and soft. Check doneness by lifting the edge of the pizza. It should be whitish, in places with a golden color like lavash.

In order for the pizza to come out narrow, the dough must be rolled out to a thickness of 2 - 3 mm and carefully coated with sauce.

To prevent pizza from acquiring a specific taste, it is better to lubricate the baking sheet not with sunflower oil, but with olive or butter.

It is also better not to use mayonnaise, because it will give a specific taste to the pizza during frying. Instead, you can use ready-made pesto sauce or simply mix chopped herbs with olive oil. It is also better to add tomato sauce or ketchup to pizza.
