Dip the sliced loaf on both sides into the egg-milk mixture and fold it into a stack.

It is necessary to place the loaf on top of each other so that the croutons are moderately saturated.

Place a piece of butter in a frying pan (or use clarified butter) and let it heat up. It is better to fry sweet croutons in butter; you should not use vegetable oil. When the butter melts (be careful not to burn it), start frying.

- In the case of making sweet croutons, ordinary sugar is replaced with vanilla, which allows you to achieve an unusually intense taste and smell;
- During the frying process, croutons with salt are sprinkled with a small amount of grated cheese, allowing it to melt.
Even without experience, but knowing the main characteristics of the dish and some of the secrets of its preparation, you can get a good result. If you use butter instead of vegetable oil, the croutons have a completely different taste and become more tender. But the calorie content immediately increases. There are 400 calories in 100 g of bread fried in butter, and only about 200 in toast fried in sunflower oil.
