Recipe for “Orange Muffins”:

Remove the zest from the orange and squeeze out the juice. Grind margarine with sugar and vanilla, add eggs, orange juice and zest, mix everything

Mix flour with baking powder, add to the consistency and knead a not very stiff dough (you can add a little more flour, and if there is no baking powder, take 1 teaspoon of soda)

Place the dough in the molds, greasing them with margarine or butter beforehand, filling half or 2/3 full (mine came out almost to the top)

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. and send the cupcakes there for 20-25 minutes. I inspected the readiness as if I were constantly using a match))) And it’s clear that it’s time to take it out, when the golden crust appears (It’s a pity, it’s hard to see in the photo)

The recipe said that you can bake a larger cake, you will definitely have to try it next time.

Yesterday I made the muffins according to your recipe and they came out absolutely beautiful! I’ve never made cupcakes like this before, so this was actually my first attempt! Thank you very much for the recipe, everyone really liked it and everything is done very simply, even an inexperienced cook, I think, will be able to cook them successfully!
I prepared it in silicone muffin tins and added a small chocolate bar to any cupcake))

Video recipe for making chocolate orange muffins

In this video, the famous presenter shows you how to make amazing muffins for breakfast. She explains everything very clearly, so it will not be difficult for you to repeat this recipe in your kitchen.

How to decorate and what to serve muffins with

It's easiest to cover the muffins with frosting because they are small and there isn't much room for decoration. But you can additionally sprinkle them with candied fruits, chocolate chips or pieces of chocolate. You can even create a light cream with orange juice and draw flowers with it using a pastry sleeve.

They are best served with hot drinks: coffee, tea, cocoa. Spiced mulled wine or even grog is also perfect for an orange muffin. If you wish, you can simply replace hot drinks with juice, compote or a glass of milk.

Some tips

  • You can test a little raw dough to make sure you've added enough sugar and other ingredients.
  • When filling the pans, keep in mind that the cupcakes will rise slightly as they bake.
  • The glaze must be applied when the muffins have cooled slightly, so that it does not spread too much and hardens quickly.

Other options

You can prepare such a wonderful dessert using different methods and with completely different ingredients. This way you can create ordinary - cottage cheese muffins - to get not only a tasty, but also a necessary dessert. Or make chicken muffins for a filling snack.

And if you adhere to fasting or do not consume products of animal origin, then there is a recipe for lean muffins that turn out no worse than the traditional version. And these are not all recipes, because you can add any fruit or even vegetable to the dough, the main thing is to know the basics of production.
