The current selection includes 5 delicious and simple recipes for making salmon fillet in the oven with detailed descriptions and photos.
Salmon in the oven with potatoes
- 500-600 grams of potatoes (in this recipe we used young potatoes, but you can also use regular ones)
- 1 onion (you can take a reddish or regular snow-white onion)
- a piece of butter or 1 tbsp olive
- 200 g cherry tomato
- 4 salmon fillets (of course, you can use less, depending on how many people you are cooking for)
1. First, preheat the oven to 220 degrees.
2. Wash the potatoes, peel them if necessary and cut them into halves or quarters (depending on the size of the potatoes). Cut the onion into half rings. Place the vegetables in a baking dish (a clay, glass or regular baking tray will do).
3. Add olive oil or butter. If you took cool butter, then first you need to melt it in a mold in the oven, and then put the vegetables in the mold and mix everything so that the butter covers the vegetables.
4. Bake the potatoes in the oven for 30-40 minutes until the potatoes are soft.
5. Remove the pan from the oven and add the cherry tomatoes completely. Place salmon on top of the vegetables (the salmon must be lightly salted and coated with seasoning in advance).
6. Return the dish to the oven for 12-15 minutes until the fish is ready.
7. Salmon with potatoes in the oven is ready!
Salmon with tomatoes in the oven
To make this dish you will need:
- 400 gr. salmon fillet without skin (this is 2 medium-sized steaks)
- olive oil
- 3-4 tomatoes
- 1 small onion (optional)
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- salt pepper
- thyme, oregano and other seasonings as desired
- baking foil
1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. We also prepare the foil, cut it into pieces 30-40 cm wide. You need as much foil as you plan to cook.
2. Let's move on to the salmon. Salt the fish, grease it with oil and add seasonings.
3. Garnish. Cooking in foil is an excellent method for preparing fish with a side dish. Foil helps retain more water in the salmon; at the same time, the fish perfectly absorbs the odors of the vegetables it is cooked with, which makes it even more tasty and fragrant. In our case, we prepare a regular side dish of tomatoes, onions and spices. Cut the tomatoes into cubes, finely chop the onion, mix everything in a small bowl, add salt and add oregano and thyme.
4. Place one piece of salmon on foil. Wrap the fillet like candy (see photo). We wrap the ends, and in the center there should be a pocket.
5. Place some of the tomato and onion mixture on top of the salmon.
6. Close the pocket and cover with the ends of the foil.
7. Place the fish in the oven and bake for 25 minutes until the fish is ready.
8. Salmon with tomatoes in foil is ready. The fish must be served directly in foil.
Salmon with lemon in the oven
This recipe is very quick and easy, perfect for those who don’t like to bother with preparing dishes for a long time, but want to eat tasty and healthy.
For 4 servings of the dish you will need:
- 4 salmon fillets
- 1-2 lemons
- fresh basil (optional)
- olive oil
- salt pepper
- parchment paper or foil (this recipe used parchment)
Time to prepare the dish: 10 minutes;
Production time: 20 minutes.
1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Prepare 4 pieces of parchment paper (any piece should be 30-40 cm wide in order to completely cover 1 piece of fillet).
2. Cut the lemon into rings. For any piece of salmon fillet, you will need 2 slices of lemon.
3. Now take a sheet of parchment (or foil), place the fillet on it (if there is skin on it, then skin side down), grease it with olive oil. Salt, pepper, add seasonings. Place a couple of basil leaves on the salmon, followed by 2 slices of lemon.
4. Roll the parchment with the salmon inside into a bag (as in the photo) and secure it with thread. We do all the same steps with the remaining pieces of fillet.
5. Place the balls on a baking sheet or in a baking dish. Place in the oven and bake for 20 minutes until the fish is cooked through.
6. When the fish is ready, take it out of the oven, carefully open the parchment, and place the fish on plates. A good side dish would be steamed vegetables, rice or couscous.
Salmon fillet or steaks with mustard
For 4 servings of the dish you will need:
- 1/4 cup French mustard (the kind with whole grains)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- little greenery (you can take it at will or availability, in this case green onions or basil will do)
- 4 pieces salmon fillet
- salt, pepper and seasonings to your taste
1. Beforehand, turn on the oven to warm up to 220 degrees. In this recipe, you can use two manufacturing options: open - when all the pieces of fillet on the baking sheet are not locked, in this case the fish will be the driest; 2nd option - closed, any slice of fillet is wrapped separately in foil, so the fish will be juicier. How to cook - choose for you. This recipe uses the open version.
2. In a separate bowl, mix mustard, olive oil and chopped herbs and herbs.
3. Place foil on a baking sheet, place salmon fillet on the foil. Coat any slice of fillet with mustard mixture.
4. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until the fish is ready.
5. Salmon fillet with mustard is ready! Can be served with rice or boiled Brussels sprouts.
Baked salmon in soy sauce marinade

- 4 salmon fillets
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 2 tsp. Sahara
- 1/3 cup water
- little olive oil
- 2-3 cloves of garlic (peeled and chopped in advance)
- lemon juice
1. Prepare the marinade. To do this, in a separate deep bowl, mix soy sauce, water, sugar, lemon juice and chopped garlic.
2. Place the salmon in a bowl with the marinade. The fish must be marinated for at least 1 hour, the maximum can be left overnight (that is, in the dark) .

5. Bake the salmon in the oven for about 15-20 minutes, depending on the thickness.

Salmon in the oven
Salmon is a very tasty and necessary fish, it contains a huge amount of vitamins and microelements that people need. Also, the concentration of melatonin and essential fats is much greater than in any white fish. Naturally, the cost of reddish fish is significantly higher than most others, but from time to time you want to cook something unique. It is salmon that is ideal for a ceremonial table; properly cooked reddish fish does not go unnoticed and praised.
Preparing the dish is quite simple, following our step-by-step recipes, even a child can prepare dishes from it.
Salmon in foil in the oven completely
This recipe allows you to bake the fish completely in the oven, which is important when decorating a formal table and serving the dish beautifully. Meat prepared in this way retains most of the nutritional parts and remains tender and savory.
But still, this recipe is only suitable for small young fish, because they grow more than a meter in length, and baking the entire carcass of an adult fish becomes very problematic.
To make it you will need the following ingredients:
- Young salmon – 2 kg.
- Lemon – 1 pc.
- Tomato – 2 pcs.
- Onion – 1 pc.
- Carrots – 1 pc.
- Sweet pepper – 1 pc.
- Pitted olives – 10 pcs.
- Garlic – 2 cloves.
- Salt - to taste.
- Pepper - to taste.
- Rosemary – 1 pinch.
- Olive oil – 2 tbsp.
How to bake salmon completely?
- The fish usually needs to be peeled and gutted if necessary. Trim the fins and wash well under running water.
- Next, the salmon still needs to be cut into steaks, this is justified by the fact that it has quite huge and strong bones, and the finished meat is difficult to cut and crumbles. In this way, pieces cut in advance will be very convenient when serving.
- Then you need to salt the fish, add rosemary and ground pepper to taste, and leave for some time.
- Next, chop all the vegetables and olives at random and add a little salt. Thinly slice the lemon into slices.
- The baking dish must be greased with olive oil and lay out all the pieces of salmon, forming a whole fish. Insert lemon slices between the pieces. If there is no suitable dish for baking, you can form an impromptu form of foil on a regular baking sheet.
- Fill the remaining space around the fish with cooked vegetables, grease the steaks with olive oil.
- Next, place the fish to bake in the oven, preheated to a temperature of 200 °C.
- Bake the dish for about 25 minutes, until fully cooked and golden brown.
Salmon baked in this way can be served as a separate dish on a festive table, in combination with any side dish. It is best served in portions with the freshest vegetables, herbs and a good glass of wine.
Salmon steaks in foil in the oven
Baking salmon steaks in the oven is the best solution for making reddish fish. The meat cooks very quickly and remains juicy all the time. Due to the folding of proteins on the surface of the pieces, all the juices are sealed inside the steak, and most of the vitamins contained in the meat also remain.
For production we will need:
- Salmon steaks – 4 pcs.
- Lemon – 1 pc.
- Rosemary – 1 sprig or 1 pinch of dry.
- Olive oil – 2-3 tbsp.
- Salt - to taste.
- Pepper - to taste.
How to cook salmon steaks in foil?
- If you take a whole fish, you need to clean it and trim the fins beforehand. Wash under running water, dry with a cardboard towel, cut into steaks 3-4 centimeters wide.
- Lemon into half slices.
- Place steaks in portions, any on a separate piece of foil, greased with olive oil.
- Place 2 half lemon mugs on top, add rosemary, salt and pepper to taste.
- After this, seal the foil tightly, but not pressing it against the very surface of the steak.
- Bake at 200°C for 15 minutes.
- When the time is up, unwrap the foil and put it back in the oven for another 5 minutes.
You can serve baked salmon steaks topped with fresh vegetables and chopped herbs.
Salmon with potatoes in foil
This recipe is suitable for both meeting guests and preparing dinner for one; in any case, the dish will amuse everyone. Due to the high presence of essential fats in salmon, making it with potatoes turns out to be very tasty. There is no particular difficulty in baking salmon with potatoes; the preparation is very simple. But given the complexity of reddish fish, unfortunately, preparing this dish often will be quite expensive.
The following ingredients are required for production:
- Salmon steaks – 1-2 pcs.
- Potatoes – 3 pcs.
- Onion – 1 pc.
- Carrots – 1 pc.
- Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp.
- Rosemary – 1 sprig or a whisper.
- Salt - to taste.
- Pepper - to taste.
How to bake salmon with potatoes in foil?
- Typically, steaks are purchased ready-made, but they still need to be cleaned, excess scales, remaining entrails and film removed, thoroughly washed with clean water, and dried with a cardboard towel. If you take a whole fish, you must also clean it and cut it into steaks about 3 cm wide.
- Salt the cooked steaks and add pepper to taste, leave for some time.
- Vegetables, rinse, peel and cut into cubes 1.5 centimeters wide.
- Cut the onion into small cubes.
- Then mix the chopped vegetables and add spices and salt.
- Next, you need to take a piece of foil, place it on the prepared baking dish, and be sure to grease it with vegetable oil.
- Place the salmon steaks in the middle, and fill the remaining space on the sides with chopped vegetables.
- Brush everything with the remaining vegetable oil and put rosemary on the steaks.
- Seal the foil tightly on top and bake in the oven at 200°C for 40 minutes until fully cooked.
You can serve directly in foil in portions if prepared on the 1st, or in plates as a complete dish, garnished with the freshest tomatoes and herbs.
Baked salmon in cream sauce
Salmon baked in cream sauce is very similar to the recipe prepared with bechamel sauce, only cream is used instead of milk. This does not make the dish any worse; on the contrary, the creamy notes, combined with other ingredients, add extraordinary lightness to the fish meat.
For production you will need:
- Salmon fillet – 700 g.
- Cheese (Parmesan) – 100 g.
- Lemon – 1 pc.
- Salt - to taste.
- Pepper - to taste.
To make the sauce:
- Onion – 1 pc.
- Not too much creamy – 50 g.
- Flour – 4 tsp.
- Cream (10%) – 150 g.
- Nutmeg – 0.5 tsp.
- Salt - to taste.
- Pepper - to taste.
How to cook salmon in cream sauce?
- First you need to take a salmon fillet; if you use a whole fish, you need to cut it into unstained fillets, remove the bones, wash and dry with cardboard towels.
- Cut the fillet into medium-sized portions, add salt and pepper to taste, your favorite spices, leave for 10 minutes, soak in the aromas.
- To make the sauce, peel the onion and grate it on a small grater.

- After the butter has completely melted, add the grated onion and fry for 2-3 minutes until softened.
- Next, add the prepared flour and stir quickly.
- Next we add the cream, also mixing to form a uniform consistency. Continue stirring until the sauce begins to thicken, remove from heat and continue stirring for another 1-2 minutes. Add nutmeg, salt and pepper. The sauce is ready.
- The next step is to gather all the ingredients together and place the salmon pieces sparingly on a greased baking dish.
- Then you need to put all the prepared sauce on top, spreading it moderately over the entire surface.
- Grate the cheese and sprinkle on top of the sauce.
- Place the form with the salmon in an oven preheated to 200°C and bake until cooked through for 25 minutes.
Salmon in a creamy sauce should be fried, with any type of side dish, topped with herbs, and a glass of good snow-white wine.
Salmon baked in the oven
Salmon is considered one of the most valuable food products. It contains a lot of polyunsaturated fatty acids, protein, and microelements that the body needs. In addition, salmon is not only healthy, but also very tasty, no matter how it is prepared. But salmon baked in the oven is especially tender and juicy. In addition, this method of making fish allows you to preserve all its useful characteristics.
Individual manufacturing
You can bake salmon in the oven completely, in portions or filleted. In any case, you will need advice from experienced chefs.
- The most important thing is to choose very fresh salmon. If it's a steak, then when you press on the bone, the meat shouldn't come away from it. If it is a whole fish, then it should be smooth and elastic. The fillet should also be quite elastic and dense. With all this, the fish does not have to have a nasty aroma.
- When cooked, chilled fish will be more juicy than frozen fish, but frozen salmon can also be baked. But before this, it must be defrosted slowly, in the refrigerator or at room temperature. Only in this case will it retain its juiciness.
- Salmon will be more tender if it is marinated before cooking. You don't need a lot of seasonings: just dark ground pepper and lemon juice. It is better to grind the pepper just before preparing the salmon - then the dish will turn out especially fragrant. It will be easier to squeeze the juice out of a lemon if you roll it on the table before doing this, pressing it with your palm. Additionally, during production you can use herbs, which will make the dish fragrant. But when adding spices, you need to know when to stop, otherwise they will kill the smell of the fish itself.
- Salmon is not a very fatty fish, so adding butter, sour cream or cream when baking it will not hurt. Moreover, the fattier the sauce, the juicier and more tender the baked salmon will become.
Certain points that need to be taken into account when preparing a dish are indicated in the recipes, so it would not hurt to carefully study not only the composition, but also the instructions for preparing the dish.
