Our “Black Prince” cake is ready. Enjoy your tea!

“Black Prince” cake - a forgotten mother’s recipe originally from the USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, also the Soviet Union - a state that existed from 1922 to 1991 in Europe and Asia) : a delicious and ordinary chocolate dessert for tea

So, let's prepare the Black Prince cake according to my mother's recipe.

Preliminary step

For the cake we will need eggs, sour cream, flour, sugar, cocoa, soda, lemon and butter for greasing the mold.

Preparing the dough

Take three eggs, add a glass of sugar and mix with a mixer until a thick snow-white foam forms. Basically, the sugar should be one hundred percent dissolved. Now add 200 grams of sour cream and mix again.

Pour 140 grams of flour and two tablespoons of cocoa into a separate cup. Gently mix the ingredients with a spoon and add to the main consistency.

Now add a teaspoon of baking soda and a tablespoon of lemon juice to a small mug or any other container.

When the soda finishes fizzing, add it to the main mixture and stir until the mixture is homogeneous.

Baking a biscuit

Grease a baking dish with butter, pour the dough into it and place in the oven for 40 minutes. Basically, the oven needs to be preheated to 180 degrees in advance.

Later we take out the biscuit, after it has cooled, cut it into three shortcakes.

Making cream

Add 700 grams of sour cream and 150 grams of sugar to a cup, and then beat with a mixer until sharp peaks form.

Assembling the cake

Take the bottom crust, place it on a plate and spread with a thick layer of cream. Place the next shortbread on top, grease it with cream again and cover with the top shortbread. Now we coat the cake with cream on all sides so that it is one hundred percent snow-white. This is precisely the main “highlight” of this cake.

For the cream to harden one hundred percent, put the cake in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours, or it is better to leave the cake in the refrigerator overnight (that is, in the dark) .

We take out the cake, pour some tea and invite our loved ones to enjoy this unusual dessert!
