Sheridan's Liqueur

Sheridan's is a sweet Irish liqueur with a strength of 15.5 degrees, consisting of two parts: creamy vanilla and chocolate coffee. Comes in a unique bottle, divided into two sections, the contents of which are mixed when poured. Thanks to the specially designed streamlined bottle shape and different neck diameters, the two parts of the liqueur are constantly mixed in a suitable proportion of 1:2 (one snow-white part and two dark parts). There is also Sheridans Berries, which has a sour taste. In it, the coffee part is replaced with liqueur made from vinous wild berries.

“Cognac has had time to visit the universe. Russian astronauts took him with them - Zhora Grechko said this. They even figured out how to drink cognac in zero gravity conditions. One astronaut took the flask between his teeth, and the second one pushed him slightly. The astronaut and the flask flew forward, but the cognac remained in place. It turned out that it was not the cognac that was pouring into the mouth, but the astronaut “flying” into the cognac. »

“This is a truly luxurious vodka, which is also very beautifully designed. Each bottle of “Russian Squadron” contains a small gold or silver toy, stylized as an underwater mine. The bottles are sealed with tin stoppers, leaving imprints of fight scenes.”

“Beluga is vodka from Siberia, the most ecologically clean region of the country. For its production, unique water is used that feeds the taiga Siberian lakes. People call this water “alive” because of its silver content and its healing properties. »

“Black and White whiskey has a rich history. At the beginning of the 20th century, the drink was supplied to order and only on horses in black and white blankets. So everyone around knew that the client ordered whiskey from Black and White. This tradition continued right up to the middle of the last century.”

“More than 450 references to wine can be found in the Bible. For example: “From now on, drink more than one water, and also drink a little wine, for the sake of your stomach and your frequent ailments” (5:23). Also in the Bible, wine is called one of the best natural gifts given to man by God.”

How to pour and drink Sheridance correctly

Thanks to the eye-catching bottle, Sheridans is difficult to confuse with other alcoholic drinks. The originality and originality of the solution paid off. In less than 10 years, this double liqueur has become one of the most famous in the world. Not a single alcohol brand in history has managed to achieve such rapid recognition.

Sheridan 's is a sweet Irish liqueur with a strength of 15.5 degrees, consisting of two parts: creamy vanilla and chocolate coffee.

Sheridans ingredients include: whiskey, the freshest Irish cream, water, natural vanilla flavoring, sugar, coffee and chocolate. The drink does not contain preservatives. The shelf life of the liqueur is 18 months from the date of bottling. An open bottle can be stored at +5-25°C for 6 months.

In addition to the usual creamy coffee version, there is also Sheridans Berries, which has a sour taste. In this drink, the coffee part is replaced with burgundy wild berry liqueur.

Berry Sheridance

The creation of Sheridan's began in 1994 in Dublin by Thomas Sheridan&Sons, part of the powerful alcohol concern Diageo - the owner of another popular Irish liqueur, Bayleys.

The main feature of Sheridan's was its unique bottle, the design of which was developed by PA Consulting Group. At the design stage, a problem with the neck appeared. The engineers could not come up with a system that would immediately pour both parts of the liqueur in suitable proportions; the creamy part ran out earlier. Because of this, Sheridance went on sale several months later than planned.

Innovative neck

Then the originality of the bottle was highly appreciated not only by users, but also by specialists. In the first year of its existence, Sheridans liqueur received a gold medal at the Paris exhibition Sial D'Or, dedicated to innovative solutions in the production of beverages and food products. Sheridan's was awarded another gold medal in 1995 at the Monde Selection exhibition in Brussels for its excellent quality.

How to drink Sheridance correctly

  • the best serving temperature is 22-24°C;
  • tableware – transparent liqueur glasses with a volume of 40-60 ml;
  • type of drink – digestif (Sheridans is served for dessert);
  • The best snacks are cookies, ice cream, sweet pastries and chocolate.

Methods for drinking Sheridan's:

1. In its pure form, poured in layers

It is considered a traditional method used by bartenders. But you need to be able to pour Sheridan correctly so that two different layers come out.

  1. Place the glass at an angle of 45°.
  2. Open the bottle, bring its neck to the glass, the reservoir with the coffee and chocolate part should be on top.
  3. Fill the glass 90% in a thin stream along the wall and level it.

Drink the glass in one gulp without taking a bite. You can also drink through a straw, starting from the bottom layer. At first there is a pleasant sweet taste, reminiscent of strong coffee with cream, then it gradually turns into a nutty aftertaste.

A well-filled shot glass

2. In its pure form, shaking

Place a piece of ice (optional) at the bottom of the glass, pour in the liqueur and mix the layers well. Then they drink Sheridans in small sips, savoring the drink and snacking on the freshest sweet pastries or ice cream.

Mixed layers (2nd method)

3. With other drinks

Sheridan's goes great with coffee and hot chocolate. It is enough to add 5-10 ml of liqueur to a mug of drink. It is possible to do without sugar; the liqueur itself is quite sweet. Some gourmets prefer to combine Sheridans with tea, but this is more reminiscent of the British style, where there is a tradition of drinking tea with milk. For the sake of enthusiasm you can try it.

Sheridan's milk liqueur must not be diluted with citrus juices (orange, lemon, etc.), because the acid they contain immediately curdles the cream, spoiling the taste. It is also not recommended to add any carbonated drinks, including mineral water, to Sheridans.

4. Cocktails with Sheridance

In a sense, this liqueur is already a cocktail in itself, but thanks to its excellent combination with vodka, gin and sambuca, bartenders managed to create several more recipes that have become alcoholic masterpieces in the West.

Light storm

  • vodka – 25 ml;
  • sambuca – 25 ml;
  • Sheridance liqueur – 50 ml;
  • whipped cream – 10 ml.

Preparation: pour the black part of Sheridans, sambuca, the snow-white part of the liqueur, and vodka into a cocktail glass. Add cream.

Creamy heaven

  • Sheridan's – 100 ml;
  • Milk 3.5% – 120 ml;
  • gin – 30 ml.

Preparation: Mix all ingredients in a shaker with 3-4 ice cubes. Pour the purchased cocktail into a glass and garnish with a cherry, mint or pineapple slice on top.

Chocolate Sheridan

  • Sheridan's – 30 ml;
  • dark or milk chocolate – 20 g.

Preparation: pour liqueur in layers, sprinkle with grated chocolate on top. After 1-2 minutes, the creamy layer will absorb the chocolate. Drink in one gulp.

Sheridan's Liqueur

Sheridan's is a liqueur that almost all of us remember from perestroika times. Beautiful two-color bottles occupied their proud space in the sideboards next to Amaretto and other “gifts from there,” and drinking the liqueur itself, naturally, was not allowed - otherwise this special sideboard feng shui would be violated.

The liqueur was created only in the early 90s, and not only the sons of Thomas Sheridance, but also designers worked on the new brand - the unique container and double dispensing neck were developed for a long time and with great difficulty by a large design agency. Sheridan's berry liqueur Their labors were more than rewarded - within a few years Sheridan's received a prestigious award in the field of innovations in the alcohol industry, and by the beginning of the 21st century it became one of the most recognizable alcoholic drinks in the world - even those who I've never tried the liqueur itself.

Recently, a berry Sheridan was also released, into which, instead of coffee liqueur, a tincture of wild berries is poured. But the combination of sour berries and sweet cream appeals only to gourmets, which is why the drink is not very widespread.

How to pour and drink Sheridan's?

It is clear that simply throwing such a carefully and originally packaged drink into the granchak is disgracing yourself. Any bottle of Sheridance is equipped with a special double dispenser - in order to simply create a puff cocktail. It is curious that each hole in the neck has a different throughput - if you pour from both at once, exactly one part of the creamy and two parts of the coffee component gets into the glass.

1. Traditional. An Old Fashioned glass or shot glass is tilted at 45 degrees to the table and slowly filled with liquor along the side. The bottle must be held level, both dispensers must be at the same level. A small life hack - for a beginner it’s even easier to first pour 2 parts of coffee liqueur, holding the 2nd hole with your finger, and then layer the creamy liqueur on top. You can drink it as a shot or through a straw, starting from the bottom layer.

2. With ice. Everything is the same, only a little crushed ice is placed on the bottom of the glass. It is worth considering that with all this, the drink will lose a significant part of its own taste and aroma.

3. In mixed form. Yes, of course, it's not so wonderful. But the taste will become more complete and harmonious, and you can admire the bottle next to it.

4. In cocktails. Sheridan's mixes amazingly with coffee, sambuca, milk, vodka, gin, and, of course, Irish whiskey (cocktail recipes will be below). Personally, I like “Light Storm” the most, where sambuca is poured between layers of Sheridance - but that’s up to anyone. Due to the threat of separation, this liqueur is not combined with any citrus juices; lemon and other acids are not added to it.

Don't forget that Sheridan's in any form is a traditional digestive; you should drink it after a meal, with dessert like ice cream, chocolate, or pastries without fruit, so as not to overwhelm the taste of the liqueur. Yes, in fact, this sweet, harmonious, rich drink goes unsurpassed on its own; it’s best to simply serve it with a cup of coffee without sugar, a cigarette - and that’s enough

Cocktails with Sheridan's

Almost Sheridan liqueur is a cocktail in itself. More often, bartenders use the same Baileys, Kahlua and other independent coffee, chocolate, and cream liqueurs. But still, there are a couple of traditional cocktails with this drink, which use both the creamy and coffee parts.

B-52 with Sheridan's

The most trivial option is to take Sheridance, pour 20 ml of coffee, then 20 ml of creamy part, add 20 ml of Triple Sec, Grand Marie or Cointreau and get the famous three-layer shot from two components. The only problem is that the creamy half in the bottle will end up 2 times faster.

A wonderful cocktail with Sheridans and English dark vodka.

25 ml dark vodka BlaVod

50 ml Sheridan's (25 each of coffee and cream)

10 ml whipped cream.

Manufacturing method - build. We layer coffee Sheridans, sambuca, snow-white Sheridans, BlaVod into the shooter, add cream on top.

A sweet milkshake with gin.

100 ml Sheridan's (classic, 1:2);

All ingredients are mixed in a shaker and poured into a tall glass. You can decorate with a scoop of ice cream sprinkled with grated chocolate or Raffaello candy.

Thanks for adding Sheridan's to my list of “to try eventually” And special thanks for the recipes

Sheridans has been in the bar for 6 years (closed) and I still can’t get around to opening it.

How I made coffee liqueur

Background.
I work in a fascinating team (careful, sarcasm!). People 35-40 years old, like talkative talkers, there are both girls and boys, according to their stories, they are still wow (in terms of entertainment). And quite often in our department there are rebellious moods and “let’s go to the bar after work, let’s get drunk!” Essentially, the matter did not move beyond words, children, wives, cleaning, dacha. But! On March 8th of this year, the most moderate programmer guy brought his own decanter of black, incomprehensible liquid. As the most inquisitive member of the department (if I'm a girl), I tried this liquid. And it turned out that there was his fiery mother, water with the mystical smell and taste of coffee! But I love, appreciate and drink real coffee. It turned out that the boy's father-in-law distills moonshine, and the boy makes liqueurs. I took the recipe, then in March and put a two-liter jar for testing (I had to put more). So, I’m sharing the recipe, it’s worth it!

Absolutely drinks should be aged for at least a month.
This is done so that the drink perfectly absorbs all the natural odors and tastes. I put April first, we sawed it this week = almost 5 months. Proportions: moonshine 60% (diluted with water, it was stronger) 1 liter, coffee beans 200 g, vanilla sugar half a teaspoon (I don’t like sweet things). I took coffee beans, I don’t remember which one, by weight, average. All this in a jar, close tightly. And put it in a black and warm space. Shake once a day for a week. Later, just quit. After about three weeks, decant and throw away the grains. But I forgot to create it, it stood for 5 weeks, everything is ok, everyone is alive))

This is somewhere in the middle of May, the color is not bad, but in the end it was even darker.

Sheridans liqueur

Sheridans double liqueur is a two-layer Irish liqueur with a coffee-vanilla flavor. It appeared on sale relatively recently, and it is easy to distinguish it from the rest thanks to the unique design of the bottle.

Personality of alcoholic beverage

Sheridan bicolor liqueur cannot be confused with any other drink. Its unique bottle consists of two parts and has two necks. One part of the bottle is filled with cream liqueur with vanilla flavor, the second part is filled with chocolate liqueur with notes of coffee.

The total strength of the drink is 15.5 degrees, with the coffee part being stronger than the creamy part. Thanks to this news, you can adjust the degree of the drink: increase it by increasing the coffee content, or decrease it by adding a drink from the creamy part.

Sheridan's liqueur contains only natural ingredients. It contains no chemical components, flavor enhancers, sweeteners, or preservatives. The drink contains:

  • single malt whiskey;
  • sugar;
  • vanillin;
  • cream;
  • chocolate;
  • coffee;
  • purified water.

Therefore, its shelf life is shorter than that of other alcoholic beverages, and is only 1.5 years, and when opened it is 6 months.

Do you understand that there is another type of Sheridan liqueur? This is Sheridance Berris. One of its components is vanilla-creamy, the second includes berry syrup. Its taste is specific, sourish, and not for everyone. Therefore, it is not very popular and is difficult to find in our country.

Sheridans liqueur - how to pour

You need to know not only how to drink Sheridan's liqueur, but also how to pour it correctly. When pouring a drink, you need to tilt the liqueur glass at an angle of 45 degrees to the table surface. It is necessary to pour very slowly so that the drink in the glass forms beautiful layers.

Any liquor bottle is equipped with a double dispenser. The two necks have different capacities: two parts of chocolate liqueur and one snow-white part fall into the glass. The lightest creamy part will be on top. You can add ice to the glass.

Attention! Usually large pieces of ice are not allowed. Only crushed ice will do for Sheridans. It must cover the bottom of the tumbler glass with a thin layer.

Usually the liqueur is served in its pure form, but from time to time it is used as an ingredient for cocktails. And for Sheridance to look great on the table, you need to carefully select dishes for it. It is better to use small thick-walled glasses or tumbler glasses with a thick bottom. There should be no ornament or inscriptions on the glasses. The glass should only be transparent so that the beautiful separation of the liquor can be clearly seen.

How to drink Sheridan liqueur correctly

Sheridans has a sweet taste and low strength, which is why it is usually considered a ladies' drink. Lovers of strong alcohol are unlikely to like it. There are several methods for properly drinking Sheridans two-layer coffee liqueur, and each of them has its own advantages:

  1. In its purest form. Sheridan is slowly poured into a glass, so that the layers do not mix. There will be cream liqueur on top and chocolate liqueur on the bottom. Pour it slightly - 50-60 grams and drink it in one gulp.
  2. In a mixed form. There are lovers who mix the layers of liqueur before drinking to obtain a uniform thickness. It doesn't look as great, but the taste is pleasant and unique.
  3. With ice. You can add crushed ice to the glass, but not at all. Excess ice worsens the taste of the drink.
  4. In cocktails. Sheridance mixes well with sambuca, coffee, gin, vodka and Irish whiskey.
    More popular cocktails:
  • "Creamy Paradise" The liqueur is mixed with gin, milk and ice;
  • "Slight Storm" The composition includes Sheridans, sambuca, vodka and whipped cream;
  • "Chocolate Sheridan" Grated chocolate is added to the liqueur;
  • "Fire tornado." Combine Sheridans, whiskey, sambuca, absinthe. Served on fire;
  • "Lactic". The composition includes Sheridans, vodka, milk and edible ice.

You can enhance the drink with vodka or whiskey. The result will be the strongest, most masculine version of the liqueur.

Therefore, the answer to the question of how to properly drink Sheridans liqueur depends only on everyone’s taste preferences. But there are aspects that cannot be forgotten.

What is not allowed when serving and drinking

The liqueur contains natural cream and coffee. Therefore, in order not to spoil the taste, it is not allowed to combine it with certain ingredients:

  1. Do not dilute liqueur with sparkling water. The cream in the liqueur will curdle due to the action of gas bubbles and fall off into flakes. This will spoil the taste and appearance of the drink. It is also not recommended to drink it with gas and water.
  2. The cream in the liqueur does not mix with acid. Do not add orange, grapefruit and lemon juices to Sheridans-based cocktails if you do not want stomach problems.
  3. Look at the storage period and criteria. Although an opened bottle of liquor can theoretically be stored for up to 6 months, we are not usually careful about the temperature and storage conditions at all times. Therefore, liquor in a previously opened bottle becomes unusable much earlier.
  4. Sheridans are usually served after lunch, with desserts and fruits. It mixes very well with ice cream, crumbly cookies, or just a cup of coffee or well-brewed tea. But it does not mix with the main dinner dishes. That’s why it is not served with salads or meat.
  5. No need to refrigerate the liquor. It should be at room temperature. Lovers of iced drinks can add crushed ice to the switch themselves if they wish.
  6. To prevent the use of Sheridans from causing harm, observe moderation. Don't forget that Sheridance is an alcoholic drink.

Gourmets say that Sheridans is definitely worth experiencing. A wonderful bottle of liquor will decorate your bar. The main thing is that when choosing a drink in a store, be sure to pay attention to the country of origin. Only Ireland produces this unique liqueur.
