Step 2:

Next, in a separate bowl, mix vegetable oil and boiling water. You can take sunflower oil, or olive oil. Later add this mixture to the flour.

Step 3:

Mix dry and liquid ingredients. Mix the dough. It comes out soft and buttery. It is very pleasant to work with him. The dough should not stick to your hands.

Step 4:

Roll out the dough with a rolling pin. I recommend rolling out immediately on parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. This way you won’t have to rearrange the cookies and waste time on it. The thickness of the dough is no more than 0.5 cm. Less is possible. Brush with beaten egg. It will help “attach” the seeds to the dough more reliably.

Step 5:

Scatter the seeds. I sprinkled flax seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds. You can, of course, get by with just one type of seed. It's a matter of taste. To secure the seeds, carefully roll them out again using a rolling pin. The surface will be leveled.

Step 6:

We send the cookies to bake in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Now the cookies are ready. Can be served.

A recipe for crumbly, tender and fragrant shortbread cookies, which will be a good addition to a family tea party.

I came across the idea of ​​using butter and vegetable oil simultaneously from Turkish confectioners. The thought is beautiful. Butter gives a creamy taste, and vegetable oil saves your household budget. Well, it’s not just a matter of saving: it’s easy to work with such a test. I highly recommend it to everyone.

  • Flour – 320 g
  • Baking powder – 1 tsp.
  • Butter (margarine) – 120 g
  • Vegetable oil (unflavored) – 100 ml
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Sugar – 120 g
  • Salt – 1 pinch
  • Nuts (chopped) – 15 g
  • Seeds (raw) – 60 g
  1. Place butter at room temperature in a bowl (it should just spread), add sugar and salt. Grind until smooth. Now add the egg and vegetable oil. Stir.
  2. Add flour, baking powder and chopped nuts. Knead the dough. There is no need to knead for a long time. The butter doesn't have to start melting from the warmth of your hands; this may make the cookies tough. There are few nuts in the dough, only 15 grams, but do not skip this ingredient, nuts greatly enhance the taste of the cookies.
  3. Tear off small pieces of dough, roll them into balls approximately the size of a walnut and form into bars 4 centimeters long. I got 51 pieces.
  4. Sprinkle the seeds in a single layer onto the work surface. Press each piece one by one firmly onto the seeds. Very durable. Press in. Add seeds if necessary.
  5. Place the cookies on a baking sheet and place them in an oven preheated to 180 degrees on the middle level. Bake for about 18 minutes.
