6 Best Watermelon Drinks

  • Fascinating
  • Beverages

When it’s over 40°C outside, you don’t want any heavy food, you want something ordinary, refreshing, and it must be served in a glass with a straw.

Watermelon and raichon smoothie

This is an exciting cocktail that is perfect for quenching your thirst on a hot summer day. It only has three ingredients and is easy to prepare.

For two smoothie servings you will need:

  • two cups chopped and frozen watermelon
  • a cup of water
  • honey to taste
  • rayhon leaves

Watermelon needs to be frozen, but not too much - very hard pieces can bend the blender blades. The unique recipe says that rayhon “takes watermelon smoothies to the next level,” and you can adjust the quantity to taste.

Place the watermelon in a blender, add water and blend until smooth. Add honey and raichon and beat for some more time until the mixture becomes smooth - this will take approximately 20 minutes.

Watermelon, mint and banana smoothie

Watermelon is refreshing, mint is cooling, and frozen banana tastes like ice cream. This smoothie not only refreshes, but also saturates it with vitamins.

For two servings you will need:

  • 2 cups chopped watermelon
  • 8 medium sized strawberries
  • 1 banana, sliced and frozen
  • mint leaves

If you don't have strawberries, it's not a failure, you can do without them. Maybe in this case it will be useful for you to add water. Or you can experiment and add, for example, cherries to your smoothie! If you want your drink to become a true vitamin bomb, add spinach leaves to it - however, in this case you won’t get a beautiful pink color.

The manufacturing process is incredibly simple - put all the ingredients in a blender, mix until smooth, pour into a beautiful glass and enjoy!

Smoothie made from watermelon, apples and pears

Such a smoothie contains a huge amount of vitamin (vitamins are a group of organic substances combined by chemical nature, united on the basis of their absolute necessity for a heterotrophic organism as an integral part of food) A and vitamin A (vitamins are a group of organic substances combined by chemical nature, united by the characteristic their absolute necessity for a heterotrophic organism as an integral part of food) C. It is sweet and tender, and the quantity of ingredients, as always, can be changed to your own taste.

  • 2 cups chopped watermelon
  • 1 apple
  • 1 pear
  • 2 cups baby spinach leaves
  • 1/2 cup water

You can omit the spinach leaves or replace them with a few mint leaves - spinach is very healthy, but the finished smoothie will not be very beautiful in appearance. This smoothie, like the previous one, is prepared in a matter of minutes - place all the ingredients in a blender, mix, pour into a glass and drink. You don’t have to add water if you are happy with the drink mixture.

Watermelon and oatmeal smoothie

Sounds interesting, doesn't it? This smoothie is suitable for breakfast, especially for those who do not like to eat a lot in the morning.

You will need four ingredients:

  • sliced watermelon
  • cereals

If you wish, you can add lemon juice or lemon zest.

Place all ingredients in a blender, mix until smooth, and drink.

Watermelon lemonade

And this is the easiest and most enjoyable drink, which, in general, is as easy to prepare as a smoothie.

For 6-8 servings you will need:

  • 7 cups chopped watermelon
  • 1 cup lemon juice
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 4 cups carbonated drink

You can take lemon soda water, Sprite or any other drink of your choice. If you don’t like such drinks, you can take ordinary sparkling water and add mint to it or at least some natural flavoring, which we have already written about.

Puree the watermelon in a blender, add lemon juice and sugar, blend until smooth. Dilute with carbonated drink to desired consistency. Place a few ice cubes in a glass, pour lemonade, garnish with a slice of lemon and enjoy the refreshing taste!

Martha Stewart Watermelon Mint Lemonade

This lemonade is perfect for hot days. It's sour, cool and quite minty - worth trying!

  • 2 lemons, cut into quarters
  • 1 cup new mint leaves
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • half a medium sized watermelon, cut into pieces

Squeeze the juice from the lemons into a large decanter; don’t throw away the squeezed quarters - put them in there too. Add mint and sugar to the carafe and rub them well with a wooden spoon.

Puree the watermelon in a blender and strain through a fine sieve or piece of muslin (cheesecloth will also work). We only need watermelon juice, which we will add to a carafe with lemons and mint. Stir, add ice cubes to the carafe, garnish with lemon slices and mint sprigs and serve.

ArBooze: Simple and delicious homemade watermelon liqueurs!

There was an old funny story: “Do you like watermelons?” - “I love to eat. Well, no." But in vain - after all, “so”, in other words, in the form of a delicious sweet liqueur, this “berry” is even more seductive! Such a drink will give you the opportunity at any time of the year to feel the taste of the long-gone Indian summer, at the level of thoughts to be transported to all this bright splendor, to enjoy the wonderful smell of the beginning of dawn... Well, and to drink deliciously, of course.

Watermelon is a fruit that is not only sweet and tasty, but also completely suitable for making a wide variety of alcohol. In one of the previous articles we already talked about watermelon wine, now we will learn how to prepare watermelon liqueurs at home. The Internet is full of simple recipes for liqueur made from boiled watermelon juice with vanilla, but we tried to get you the most noteworthy recipes - for example, watermelon with cognac, liqueur with lemon and cactus juice, even an unexpected spicy-sweet liqueur made from watermelon and jalapeno pepper - absolutely fire! In short, there is plenty to choose from!

Melons are absolutely ideal for making liqueurs specifically - their dull taste is perfectly revealed in concentrated, rich drinks of low strength (so that alcohol does not overwhelm the subtle smell of the raw material) and high sweetness, because sugar is a natural flavor enhancer. We already have an article about melon liqueurs like Midori - a good thing! Watermelon liqueur is also made industrially, for example, it is made by the omnipresent “De Kuyper” (although such a fruit, from which this brand does not prepare booze, probably does not exist at all). But, naturally, we are not interested in foreign exotics, but in our own, home-made liqueur from a fruit that is cheap and available in the autumn. Let's talk about this.

“Chopped Watermelon” – a simple watermelon liqueur

Everyone has probably heard about the “intoxicated watermelon” - the berry is pumped full of vodka, cut and served. Everyone is intoxicated and satisfied, the gestalt is complete. But simply swelling is not our goal. Based on the “intoxicated watermelon”, we will create a good, aged drink that will be pleasant to savor on long winter evenings in good company. For this kind of liqueur, by the way, you don’t even need a jar - we’ll create everything right in the watermelon itself, and that’s the originality of the recipe.

  • medium-sized watermelon – 5-6 kg;
  • vodka or other alcohol with a neutral taste - snow-white rum, for example - 0.5 liters.

Making liqueur is simple and fun! We'll need a whole bottle of alcohol and a watermelon.

  1. In the upper part of the watermelon - where the stalk is located, we use a knife to make a radial cut with a diameter the size of the neck of our bottle. We cut out the crust together with the inedible snow-white “subcortex”; you can also scoop out a little pulp with a teaspoon. Carefully insert a bottle of alcohol into the resulting hole, secure it firmly with the means at hand - for example, just lean it against the wall, and wait. After a few hours, the berry will absorb the alcohol, the hole will need to be plugged, the watermelon will need to be wrapped with tape (to prevent it from tearing) and wait a week.
  2. You can use the other method - take a large syringe and slowly, through the same hole, inject alcohol into the watermelon. It's a tedious task, but it's more reliable than the previous option. Once the fruit has absorbed all 0.5 liters, we literally wrap it with tape in the same way and leave it alone for a week.
  3. Under the influence of alcohol, after 7-10 days, the watermelon “flesh” will soften and give juice, which can simply be drained and filtered from seeds and remaining pulp. Try the resulting “semi-finished product”. Not a lot of alcohol? Add more. Not too much sweetness? Dissolve a little sugar in water. Would you like to add additional flavors? Take a little vanilla, cinnamon, lemon zest or whatever you like.
  4. Well, now everything is according to the proven scheme. Bottle or jar, 1-2 weeks of aging in a dark, warm place, after that - filtration and at least a month's rest. And after that, you can start tasting!

If the proportions are maintained correctly, watermelon liqueur prepared using this simple method at home turns out to be light and unobtrusive, it is not stronger than wine, it turns out quite sweet even without sugar, it has a pale pink color, and after painstaking filtration it has an almost transparent color and a narrow watermelon color. smell. It is excellent to use slightly chilled or as part of cocktails.

Watermelon liqueur with lemon and... cacti! Polish recipe

Cactus juice is found in hypermarkets, but quite rarely. You can create it yourself - from the fruits of the common prickly pear (from it, by the way, they also make an independent tincture - the recipe is in this article for us), although the prickly pear is squeezed without hunting - in general, it’s up to you to decide, you can experiment and do without this ingredient – the drink should still be fun!

  • one large watermelon – 7-8 kg;
  • cactus juice – 2 liters;
  • sugar – 0.75–1.25 kg (depending on the sweetness of the watermelon and juice);
  • lemons – 4 medium;
  • alcohol 65-70° – 2 liters.
  1. Cut the watermelon, cut out the pulp and squeeze the juice into a saucepan using gauze or narrow cotton cloth (The structure of tissues of living organisms is studied by the science of histology) . Add the juice of cacti and lemons, add 0.75 kg of sugar and test - the liquid should be very sweet, if necessary, increase the sugar content.
  2. Place the pan on the stove, heat over low heat, stirring constantly, not allowing it to boil, until the sugar is one hundred percent dissolved in the juice.
  3. Pour the slightly cooled mixture into a huge jar (at least 6-7 liters for our proportions), add alcohol, close the lid tightly and put it in a black space for 3 weeks. If sediment forms in the jar, it must be shaken.
  4. After three weeks, the drink is filtered through a cotton or other filter; to simplify the task, you can leave it alone for the last couple of days of infusion, and then simply decant it using a straw.

You can try watermelon liqueur now, but after a couple of months of aging it will become significantly better!

Watermelon with cognac

The original is cognac, but you can take any other strong drink, from vodka or good moonshine (watermelon brandy is absolutely the standard!) to not very aromatic whiskey or light rum.

  • ripe, juicy watermelon pulp without seeds – 2 kg;
  • cognac – 1 liter;
  • sugar – 350 grams.

The drink is made in almost the same way as most fruit liqueurs. Cut the watermelon pulp into large cubes, put it in a jar and fill it with alcohol. We stand for 10 days in warmth and darkness. After this, drain the tincture, cover the remaining pulp with sugar and move it to a windowsill or other sunny space. When the sugar is one hundred percent dissolved, drain the syrup and combine it with the tincture. It’s better to gradually pour the syrup into the tincture and taste it, so as not to make the liqueur completely cloying. After this, the drink must be filtered and kept for at least a month. That's it, you can try!

Watermelon liqueur with jalapeno - South American recipe

Sweet, spicy, unexpected, scorchingly delicious! This unique drink will appeal to gourmets and is perfect for wild alcoholic get-togethers and simply to amaze guests. By the way, this is not the only example of such a liqueur; for example, here is a recipe for raspberry liqueur with chili, and here is a recipe for the Canadian liqueur “Fireball” with hot pepper, cinnamon and honey. The combination of sweet and spicy tastes in alcohol is interesting, original, and if something happens, it will help you warm up no worse than traditional pepper.

  • seedless watermelon pulp - approximately half a kilo;
  • jalapeno pepper - medium pod;
  • alcohol or moonshine 55-60° – 350 ml;
  • regular sweet syrup – 250-350 ml.

Making this unique drink is quite simple. First, you need to cut the pepper into rings, place it in a jar along with the seeds and fill it with alcohol. Every other day, try a drop of the tincture - if it is already quite spicy, the pieces of jalapeno must be removed, if not, wait another 12 hours and so on until the result is achieved. Now we take the watermelon pulp, cut it into pieces, put it in a jar, fill it with the resulting pepper - in other words, “jalapeno” - and leave it in a black place for a week. After this, the liquid must be filtered and sweetened with a syrup made from equal parts of water and sugar (read what “ordinary syrup” is and how to prepare it here). After a couple more weeks of rest, everything will be ready!

As we see, there is nothing difficult at all in making watermelon liqueurs at home, and the drinks turn out to be very tasty and literally unique! So we buy more “berries” before they are completely gone, arm ourselves with recipes from “Rum” and watermelon to the fullest!
