Here's an easy-to-follow recipe for hawthorn jam with seeds - healthy and dessert at once! We store the treat in the pantry, and after opening the jar, in the refrigerator. The syrup can be served as a gravy for pancakes, pancakes, and sweet desserts.

I found a fascinating video that carefully explains how to cook this excellent dessert.

If you have a lot of hawthorn, the recipes for making jam don’t end there. You can add various additives to the glod and cook mixes that are not only healthy, but also very tasty!

Healthy jam from hawthorn and apples

An employee shared this recipe with me. She grows a lot of apples in her dacha, and there is no shortage of apples either. That’s why she more than makes winter treats with fragrant delicacies, treats everyone and knows how to cook.

  • 1 kg of hawthorn fruits with seeds;
  • 500 g apples (Antonovka is ideal);
  • 500 g sweet sand;
  • Zest of 1 orange;
  • 0.25 teaspoons of citric acid.

How to make jam:

  1. Let's sort through the hawthorn berries, selecting and discarding the warped ones. Wash the remaining beautiful fruits and dry them on a towel.
  2. We will also wash the apples, cut out the core with grains and tails. Cut into thin slices, after which we cut each slice into three more equal parts. The size of the apple pieces should be approximately the size of hawthorn fruits.
  3. Place the fruit in an enamel pan or basin, mix, and cover with sweet sand. Let it sit for half an hour, soak in sugar.
  4. Then put it on the fire and heat it, stirring. After boiling, cook the dessert for half an hour over low heat. Make sure the treat doesn't burn.
  5. Cut the zest from the washed orange, chop it and add it to the jam 5 minutes before it is ready. Then we will add citric acid - for the best preservation of the color and the desired parameters of the dessert.
  6. Sterilize the jars and pour a ladle of still hot (but not bubbling) jam into them. Roll up the lids.

Preservation is ideally preserved in a cold place until the next harvest.

Fragrant glod jam with oranges

This colorful orange delicacy is undeniably beneficial for your body and a good way to lift your spirits on bad days. I cook it according to a recipe inherited from my mother-in-law. It turns out surprisingly tasty. And what a smell!

  • 2 kg of hawthorn fruits (gloda);
  • 2 pcs. oranges;
  • 1.6 kg of sweet sand;
  • 1 packet of vanillin;
  • 0.25 teaspoons of citric acid;
  • 400 ml water.
  1. We sort out the berries, wash them and dry them. Remove the stalks and inflorescences.
  2. Boil syrup from water and sugar in an enamel pan. Stir constantly so that the syrup does not burn.
  3. Pour hot syrup over the bowl and leave for several hours (10 or 14). It is best to pour the fruits in the evening and continue production during the day.
  4. Peel the oranges and divide them into slices. Cut each slice into several pieces and remove the seeds. Add it to the pan with glod and put it on the fire. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about half an hour. At the end of production, add citric acid and vanillin.
  5. Pour the delicacy while still hot into clean, sterilized containers and screw on the lids, scalded with boiling water. Let's turn it over and wrap it up. After cooling, we hide it in the pantry for storage. Or we don’t hide it – we serve it right away for tea!

Vitamin jam from hawthorn and rosehip

We can create even more useful winter preparations if we combine glod and rose hips in one recipe. Naturally, you will have to tinker a little with rose hips, but the content of vitamin C (vitamins are a group of organic substances combined by chemical nature, united on the basis of their absolute necessity for a heterotrophic organism as an integral part of food) C will increase significantly. A tasty dessert is suitable for strengthening the body, increasing immunity, preventing and healing colds (with comprehensive therapy (therapy is a process for relieving or eliminating the symptoms and manifestations of a disease) ).

  • 1 kg of hawthorn fruits;
  • 1 kg of rose hips;
  • 2 kg sugar;
  • 2 liters of water;
  • 0.5 teaspoons of citric acid (or 3-4 tablespoons of lemon juice).
  1. We prepare the hawthorn as in previous recipes - we sort it out, wash it, and dry it.
  2. It is more difficult with rose hips; we will need to remove the seeds from it. First, we clean the freshest berries from cuttings and sepals. Then we wash them in running water. Cut each berry in half and remove the seeds with a spoon.
  3. After this, put the rose hips in a bowl and cover with cool water for 5-10 minutes. During this period of time, the remaining seeds that could not be pulled out will separate and float out. Remove all debris with a slotted spoon. Place the berries on a sieve to drain.
  4. Pour 2 liters of water into an enamel pan and put it on fire. When the water is almost boiling, slowly add sugar, stirring, and cook the syrup. Once the sugar has completely dissolved, add rose hips and hawthorn berries to the pan. After boiling again, cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly so that the jam does not burn.
  5. Then turn off the heat and leave the dessert to steep under the lid for 6 hours, so that the fruits are perfectly saturated with syrup. After this time, heat the contents again to a boil and cook over low heat for 15-20 minutes. The jam should thicken slightly.

At the very end of production, add citric acid (or juice) and mix. While still hot, pour the jam into dry, sterilized containers and screw on the lids.

The vitamin treat is ready!

Useful characteristics of hawthorn dessert

Glod contains a whole range of essential vitamins (for example, A, group B, C, E, K, etc.), minerals (iron, magnesium, calcium, potassium). The berries are rich in organic acids - malic, citric, ascorbic and tartaric.

In particular, I would like to mention the rarest ursolic acid - a beautiful immunostimulating, tonic, rejuvenating, and also fat-burning agent.

In folk and official medicine, hawthorn has long proven itself in the treatment (the process of alleviating, relieving or eliminating symptoms and diseases) and prevention of heart disease, hypertension, kidney disease, thyroid disease, menopausal symptoms in women, high anxiety and insomnia.

Contraindications

But if you have hypotension , be careful with such a treat. Glod greatly lowers blood pressure, especially with prolonged use, and can cause dizziness (Dizziness is a feeling of uncertainty in determining one’s position in space) , weakness, even to the point of fainting.

Hawthorn jam with seeds

An excellent housewife always starts preparing for the winter with jam, because the sweet dessert will be at home at a family dinner and will decorate the festive table. The traditional recipe for this dish made from hawthorn is especially popular, allowing you to make a fragrant delicacy without much effort.

To prepare an excellent dessert, prepare:

  • Hawthorn fruits in the amount of 2 kg;
  • Sugar - 1 kg.

So, the necessary ingredients have been collected, let’s look at the step-by-step recipe:

  1. The manufacturing process should begin with painstaking washing of the berries: debris that gets into the fruit during assembly can spoil the taste of the sweetness. Afterwards, the hawthorn must dry: so that this process begins to move more quickly, you can sprinkle them on a paper towel;
  2. The cooked fruits are poured into a container created for cooking and covered with sugar. The resulting mixture should be left for 8-10 hours. Enterprising housewives do the first preparations in the evening, so that during the night (that is, the dark time of day) the berries release juice;
  3. Next, light the fire and place a container with this consistency on it. Every few minutes you need to increase the intensity of the flame, and after the start of boiling, sharply reduce the intensity of the flame;
  4. You need to cook the fruit-sugar mass until it thickens; readiness is checked by a drop of jam: it should keep its shape if you drop it on a plate;
  5. Divide the resulting jam into jars

A simple recipe will help you give the medicinal berries a new taste and preserve them forever.

  4. Pour the resulting delicacy into jars and roll up the lids.

The usefulness of this product is invaluable: a unique vitamin mix will help support the immune system during the cool season. And tea with this jam acts no worse than a sedative, having a relaxing effect.

Winter is a time when vitamins (a group of low-molecular organic compounds of relatively simple structure and varied chemical nature) can only be obtained by preparing various supplies of vegetables and fruits for the winter. Jam is not only a delicious dessert, but also a real storehouse of usefulness.

Jam without cooking

The recipe without cooking allows you to preserve all the vitamins (a group of low-molecular organic compounds of relatively simple structure and diverse chemical nature) and microelements that disappear if the freshest fruit is subjected to heat treatment. But at least some beneficial properties are preserved if you prepare jam using the method indicated below.

Preparing this jam is simple: you need to mix the hawthorn berries, cleared of debris in advance, with sugar. Then, using a blender, the resulting mixture is crushed to a homogeneous paste. That's the whole recipe.

It is not at all necessary to put the jam in a glass container and roll it up. You can simply put it in a container and put it in the refrigerator.

Jam with apples

Additives to jam will help give your favorite dessert special taste properties. Let's look at how to create hawthorn jam with the addition of apples. By the way, a similar delicacy will be especially useful for people with liver disorders.

  • 150 g apple puree;
  • Hawthorn – 1 kg;
  • Sugar – 1.5 kg.

  1. Wash and dry the berries. We get rid of seeds and stalks;
  2. Sprinkle the fruits with sugar and place in a darkened space for 24 hours;
  3. Every other day, pour water into a basin and pour in the remaining sugar;
  4. Place on the fire and after boiling for a minute, add the apple puree;
  5. Boil for a couple more minutes.

Hawthorn jam is a very healthy delicacy, but it has certain contraindications. Hypotensive people should not get carried away with this delicacy - one of the parameters of a pharmaceutical plant is the ability to lower blood pressure. It is also not recommended for children under 12 years of age to consume dessert. For adults, the daily dose of hawthorn products is 150 g.
