Thanks for the recipe! My grandmother prepared such flatbreads and called them “kokurki”. I just loved them! Your recipe turned out exactly like this!
Still, I couldn’t resist and added an egg)) delicious cookies, soft, they came out looking like a sponge cake. baked for 15 minutes, thanks, I'll try to cook without eggs
It’s impossible for the flatbreads to brown so perfectly. They are already burnt on the bottom, and snow-white on top, as if they were not baked at all. Although they taste great. Can you tell me what the reason is?

Sour cream flatbreads in a frying pan: recipe with photo
Sour cream flatbreads can be prepared in a frying pan using various methods. Some people like fluffy dough with yeast, others like flat cakes. They often act as a substitute for bread or as a pleasant addition to soups, salads, even tea. Flatbreads can be ordinary or with different insides. For example, you can create savory flatbreads with sausage, vegetables, or add herbs and cheese to the dough.
Savory and ordinary flatbreads
This recipe for sour cream cakes in a frying pan without yeast is quite simple. You can call it traditional. To make it you need to take:
- 200 g flour;
- a pinch of salt;
- 250 g sour cream;
- two testicles;
- a tablespoon of olive oil;
- a teaspoon of baking powder;
- a couple of tablespoons of sweet powder.
The flour is sifted in advance. Combine sour cream, eggs, salt, baking powder, sweet powder and butter in a bowl. Painstakingly put together. Add flour. Knead the dough; it should be quite stiff. Roll out on a board sprinkled with flour. Cut out circles with a diameter of about 10 cm. Use a fork to make pricks in the dough.
Fry sour cream cakes without yeast in a frying pan without adding oil. You need to watch them because they fry very quickly. To make the cakes softer, place them on top of each other and cover with a towel.
Fluffy flatbreads
These sour cream pancakes are eaten very quickly in a frying pan, so it’s worth preparing a huge portion right away. The flatbreads themselves go great with tea or coffee. Those who like the sweetest baked goods can add slightly more sugar or eat them with jam. For this recipe you need to take:
- a glass of sour cream;
- 2.5 cups flour;
- one testicle;
- a couple of tablespoons of sugar;
- one testicle;
- 50 grams of margarine, melted;
- a little salt;
- a teaspoon of soda.
Beat eggs with sour cream using a whisk or mixer. Add sugar and margarine. Separately combine soda, salt and flour and sift. Add to sour cream, knead the dough and leave it for at least fifteen minutes. If it is too soft, add flour. Form balls of dough and roll them into a flat cake. Fry on both sides in a dry frying pan. Sour cream cakes will be juicier if you fry the first side with a covered frying pan, and the second without a lid.
Flatbread with inside: tasty and satisfying
These flatbreads based on sour cream are somewhat reminiscent of a pie, because they contain a juicy filling. To make sour cream cakes in a frying pan you need to take:
- a glass of sour cream;
- a bunch of beloved greenery;
- two testicles;
- a couple of tablespoons of flour;
- two tablespoons of vegetable oil;
- two hundred grams of hard cheese.
These cakes turn out fluffy and very tender. They also have a spicy taste due to the cheese.
Sour cream flatbreads in a frying pan: recipe with photos
The cheese must be grated on a large grater. Transfer it to a bowl, add eggs and sour cream. Knead thoroughly. The greens are finely chopped. Dill, parsley and green onions work well. Add to sour cream. Add flour and knead the dough again.
Heat oil in a frying pan. Spread the dough out in an even layer. Fry for 10 minutes, covering the pan with a lid. Afterwards, turn the flatbread over, remove the lid from the pan and fry until crusty on the 2nd side. This recipe for sour cream cakes in a frying pan is very unique: the finished products have a different salty taste and smell.
Yeast flatbreads: traditional recipe
This option requires yeast. They allow you to get a fluffy dough. Well, obviously, more time is needed so that the dough has time to prepare and the dough itself has time to rise. To make delicious flatbreads according to this recipe, you need to take the following ingredients:
- half a glass of sour cream;
- 500 g flour;
- 150 ml warm water;
- half a glass of sugar;
- 75 g butter;
- a pinch of salt;
- 1.5 heaped teaspoons of dry yeast.
The flour must be sifted in advance. Warm water is poured into a bowl and yeast is added. Stir until dissolved, then add two tablespoons of flour. Stir thoroughly again.
Separately combine flour, salt, sour cream and sugar. When the dough has settled for about 30 minutes, other ingredients are added to it. Melt the butter, but do not bring it to a boil, cool slightly. Pour into the dough and knead again.
Roll out the dough and cut out flat cakes. Let them sit for another fifteen minutes. Fry them on both sides in a frying pan. You can do this with the addition of butter if you want the cakes to be fattier. This dish is served with soups as a substitute for bread.
Savory flatbreads with meat inside
These flatbreads can be eaten both as an addition to the main course and as a savory snack. They are quite filling. The recipe for making sour cream cakes in a frying pan is quite simple. For this dish you need to take the following ingredients:
- 300 g sour cream;
- two testicles;
- 550 g flour;
- a couple of tablespoons of vegetable oil;
- half a teaspoon of soda;
- a teaspoon of salt;
- 300 grams of suluguni cheese;
- onion head;
- 100 grams of boiled sausage;
- 100 g bacon;
- a little dark ground pepper.
Place sour cream in a bowl and beat eggs into it. Add oil, salt and soda. Add flour in parts and knead into an elastic dough. Cover it with a towel and put the workpiece in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
Grate the cheese on a large grater. The onion is peeled, cut into half rings, which are then divided in half. Fry in a small amount of vegetable oil until it turns golden.
Bacon and sausage are cut into small cubes and placed in a frying pan. Season with pepper. Fry until the ingredients turn golden.
The dough is removed from the refrigerator. Eight balls are formed, each one is rolled into a flat cake. Place meat filling in the middle and sprinkle with cheese. Form a cake so that the inside remains inside. Fry each flatbread on both sides in a dry frying pan.
Vegetable interior option
Using this recipe for sour cream flatbread, you can also create a vegetable dish. The flatbreads themselves are prepared in the same way. And for the inside you need to take:
- onion head;
- one small zucchini;
- two small tomatoes;
- a little salt.
Peel the zucchini and onions and cut them into small cubes. First fry the onion in a frying pan with vegetable oil. When it becomes soft, add the zucchini. Lightly fried. Then add diced tomatoes. Simmer until done, season with salt.
They also place the filling on the flatbread and close it. Fry until done in a dry frying pan. If desired, vegetables can be sprinkled with grated cheese to make the inside juicier and piquant.
Sweet cakes with sugar decoration
This type of baking goes perfectly with tea. It can be combined with condensed milk. For such savory and ordinary cakes you need to take:
- 3.5 cups flour;
- half a glass of milk;
- the same amount of sour cream;
- another 100 grams of sour cream for greasing the finished flatbreads;
- one testicle;
- 75 g sugar;
- a pinch of salt;
- a teaspoon of dry yeast;
- a couple of tablespoons of vegetable oil.
The milk is heated, but not boiled. Add yeast and about a tablespoon of sugar and stir. After about fifteen minutes, add the egg, salt, butter, sour cream and flour. Knead the dough, cover with a towel and leave in a warm place until it rises.
Divide the dough into 12 parts, roll each into a flat cake. Fry the pieces in a frying pan with a small amount of oil on both sides. The finished flatbreads are greased with sour cream and sprinkled with sugar. Serve warm.
Savory flatbreads are not just a substitute for bread. This can be both a beautiful dessert and a main course. The flatbreads are not bad on their own, and sour cream added to the dough allows you to get a fluffy and tender dough. And the different insides allow anyone to find something to suit their own taste.

Step-by-step production
Step 1:
How to create flatbreads with sour cream? Prepare all ingredients according to the list. Sift the flour through a fine sieve. The butter can be at any temperature - we will melt it anyway.
Step 2:
In a wide, deep bowl, beat the raw egg with a fork or whisk.
Step 3:
Add sour cream and beat again.
Step 4:
Melt the butter in a water bath or in the microwave. Pour the melted butter into the egg-sour cream mixture, stirring quickly.
Step 5:
Add sugar and stir well again.
Step 6:
Add soda to the sifted flour.
Step 7:
Add a little salt (a pinch) to the flour.
Step 8:
Stir the flour into the egg-milk mixture to form a dough. Focus on the thickness of the dough; for this, do not add all the flour at once, only a spoon or two.
Step 9:
The dough should be moderately stiff, not sticky, and hold its shape. Very cool will not work, because the cakes from it will turn out to be harsh. Therefore, watch the amount of flour!
Step 10:
Leave the dough to rest for about 15 minutes. During this period of time, the gluten will swell and the dough will be easy to work with.
Step 11:
Cover the dough with a towel or bag to prevent it from airing.
Step 12:
Divide the dough into 7 or more parts.
Step 13:
Roll each part into a circle across the diameter of your own frying pan. Prick with a fork.
Step 14:
Carefully transfer the dough to a preheated dry frying pan using a rolling pin. If you did everything right, the uncooked tortillas will be quite tender. So don't tear them.
Step 15:
Fry the tortillas in a dry, heated frying pan with a lid.
Step 16:
Turn over to the other side and fry without a lid until done. Be careful not to burn, the flatbreads should fry quite quickly, so don’t leave the stove.
Step 17:
Grease each flatbread with butter and place them on top of each other in a stack.
Step 18:
These are the golden brown cakes you get! Bon appetit!
They really reminded me a lot of shortcakes for a regular cake, so we ate some of the flatbreads while still hot, and I cut the ones that were left in half and coated them with boiled condensed milk - it turned out to be a quick, delicious little cake! Try it!
When I fried them, the smell was such that everyone at home came running and thought that I was making a cake! They really are reminiscent of cake layers - if you add 2 tablespoons of sugar, like I did, they will turn out the sweetest and can be served with tea. And if you reduce it, they are completely suitable as a candidate for a loaf! And they get ready in no time!
Be prepared for the fact that you may need more or less flour than indicated in the recipe. Focus not on the amount of flour, but on the desired thickness of the dough. To avoid mistakes, read about flour and its properties!
