To be honest, I prepared this salad for the first time. I couldn’t even imagine how it would taste in the end. But the result amazed me, a word of good faith. The salad is so harmonious and tasty that it’s impossible to tear yourself away.

I think for those who love beetroot salads with garlic, this option will be a real find, as it was for me.

I didn't add salt and pepper. It's a matter of taste; we had enough of everything.

Boil the beets in advance, cool and peel. Peel the garlic too.

Cut the cheese into small cubes.

Cut the cucumbers in the same way.

Combine everything in a salad bowl. Add chopped garlic and mayonnaise.

    The recipe for a very ordinary salad, which can be called a regular one. A salad with beets and cucumber can be prepared in almost 10-15 minutes for lunch or dinner if you boil the beets in advance. The dish comes out very juicy, tasty and quite filling due to the addition of cheese and mayonnaise.

    You can use any kind of cheese for this ordinary salad (in my case, Russian). You need the freshest cucumbers, but with pickled or salted ones you also get a fascinating, albeit completely different combination. As a dressing, I suggest creating a sauce from homemade mayonnaise and sour cream. If desired, add a little fresh garlic or herbs, but this is not for everyone.

    Making a dish step by step:

    The recipe for this ordinary salad includes the following ingredients: beets (the mass of raw root vegetables is indicated), fresh cucumbers, cheese (such as Russian or Dutch), homemade mayonnaise and sour cream of any fat content.

    First, let's put the beets to boil. If you create this in advance, it will take you about 15 minutes to make the salad. The time it takes to cook beets varies greatly. For example, young small beets will be ready almost 35 minutes after boiling, and old and large root vegetables will become soft after 1.5 - 2 hours.

    While the beets are cooking, grate the cheese on a large or medium grater. Choose any semi-hard cheese, medium soft, with a pleasant creamy taste.

    Wash the fresh cucumbers, dry them and cut them into small cubes. If the skin of the vegetables is hard, remove it with a sharp knife or vegetable peeler.

    Transfer the crushed cheese and cucumber cubes to a suitable bowl.

    When the beets are cooked (pierce the roots with a knife - if they are soft, it means they are ready), cool them under cool running water, peel them and chop them on a large grater.

    Transfer the beets to a bowl with the rest of the salad ingredients.

    All that remains is to season the vegetables with cheese with mayonnaise and sour cream. Whether or not to salt the salad is a matter of taste. Personally, I don’t use salt, because mayonnaise has enough of it.

    Mix the salad and cool it briefly before serving.
