You can serve stewed cabbage with potatoes as a side dish or as an independent dish! In general, there is no need to argue about the versatility of such a dish; it suits everyone!
We will prepare stewed cabbage with potatoes in a slow cooker, which makes the housewives’ work even easier. To create the most juicy, catchy and rich dish, we will take, in addition to the main ingredients - cabbage and potatoes, other vegetables, namely onions and carrots, garlic, green peppers and tomatoes. We will stew the components of the dish with sunflower oil without aroma, and we will use bay leaves as a flavor enhancer. And of course, we can’t do without the freshest greens.
Well, let's get started.
To make stewed cabbage with potatoes in a slow cooker, you should prepare the vegetables in advance. Peel the potatoes, carrots, onions and garlic, remove the stalks from the cabbage and remove the dirty outer leaves, and remove the seeds from the peppers. Set the multicooker to the “Stew” mode, if available. Otherwise, we set the mode in which we usually prepare similar dishes. For example, I always cook in the “Baking” mode. And pour oil into the bowl to heat it up.
Cut the onion into thin half rings.
Cut the carrots into small pieces.
Place the vegetables in a bowl and begin stewing. The whole process of making a dish consists of cutting vegetables and throwing them into the slow cooker one by one, although the order of adding is not so important. I always start with onions and carrots, so that the onion has time to fry and the carrots do not remain hard.
Next we move on to the main ingredients. We chop the cabbage thinly, add a little salt and mash it with our hands so that it becomes softer and releases its juice.
Cut the potatoes into small cubes.
Throw the main ingredients of the dish into the bowl, mix and leave to simmer further.
Finely chop the green pepper. You can also use bell pepper.
Finely chop the garlic. I took 4 small cloves, which is approximately equal to one medium clove of garlic.
We make perpendicular cuts on the bottom of the tomato and pour boiling water over it for a few minutes.
This will help us remove the skin without any problems.
Then cut the tomato into small pieces.
Throw the remaining vegetables into the slow cooker, stir, add water and continue simmering until cooked (another 10-15 minutes). In general, preparing the dish takes 60-70 minutes, counting from the moment the multicooker has already warmed up. Stewed cabbage with potatoes is ready when almost all the water has boiled away and the vegetables are cooked. At the end of cooking, salt and pepper the dish, add washed bay leaves and fresh herbs. After turning off, let the stewed cabbage and potatoes brew in the slow cooker for 15-20 minutes. The dish will not have time to cool down; it will only become saturated with taste and smell.
Place the dish on plates and serve, garnished with the freshest dill. You see, there is quite a lot of water in my dish, this can be controlled. If you don’t want excess broth, just simmer longer so that the water boils away.

- vegetable oil – 3 tbsp.
- tomato paste – 2 tbsp.
- water – 300 ml
- bay leaf – 2 leaves
- salt, dark pepper (peas)
- spices to taste (cumin, cilantro, parsley or any others you like)
Cooking step by step:
1. Peel and rinse vegetables (onions, carrots, potatoes). Finely chop the onion and carrots; on the contrary, cut the potatoes into large pieces (cut one potato into 4-6 pieces, depending on the size).
2. Pour vegetable oil into the bottom of the multicooker, add chopped onions and carrots and turn the multicooker to the “Baking” . Fry for 5 minutes, stirring so that the fry does not burn. You can do this with the lid open.
3. Add potatoes to the frying and fry on the same mode for another 10-15 minutes. There is no need to ensure that the potatoes are completely cooked; our goal is that at this step a crispy crust will form on the surface.
4. While frying is being prepared, chop the cabbage.
5. “Baking” mode . Place the shredded cabbage in the slow cooker. Add 2 tbsp to it. l. tomato paste, garlic, bay leaf, then salt to taste and add dark peppercorns.
6. Pour in water and mix thoroughly.
7. Close the multicooker lid and turn on the “Quenching” . Cook for 1 hour.
8. After the signal, you can optionally add fresh or frozen herbs and spices to taste. Cilantro goes especially well with this dish.
The result is a fascinating combination of flavors - stewed cabbage in a slow cooker is complemented by crispy potatoes. This dish is great to cook during Lent.
And if lean food is not for you, and the prepared food still seems not filling enough for you, you can add 300g of minced meat to the ingredients (it should be added along with potatoes). And even without the modification given to us, this recipe can forever become one of your favorites.

The recipe is strange, I cooked it with increasing time using the frying mode, the last step (1 hour stewing) was changed to baking 1 hour.

- Cabbage – 0.5 kg;
- Potatoes – 4-6 pcs;
- Onion – 1 piece;
- Carrot – 1 piece;
- Tomato sauce or paste – 2-3 tbsp. lodge;
- Water – 1 tbsp;
- Salt - 1 tsp;
- Vegetable oil – 2-3 tbsp. lodge;
- Bay leaf – 1 pc.

To prepare it you need to chop the white cabbage and place it in the multicooker bowl. Peel the potato tubers and cut into small cubes.
Place in a slow cooker.
