Chocolate chip cookies
One day I tried a store-bought chocolate chip cookie. I liked its taste, but wanted to cook the same at home. Without thinking twice, I found a recipe in one of the cookbooks and decided to bake chocolate chip cookies. It turned out delicious! Try it - you will succeed!
To bake cookies with chocolate chips we will take
- Butter - 200 g (1 pack) You can naturally use margarine, but it seems to me that it still tastes better with butter
- Egg - 2 pcs.
- Sugar - 1 glass
- Chocolate - 100 g (bar or confectionery chocolate in the form of drops, balls, etc.)
- Vanillin – 1 sachet
- Baking powder for dough - 1 teaspoon
- Flour - 2.5-3 cups
We will prepare chocolate chip cookies like this:
- If you are using a chocolate bar, then break the chocolate into small pieces of 0.5x0.5 cm. In the case of already molded chocolate (drops, balls, pieces), there is no need to create anything. Place the chocolate in the freezer for 45-60 minutes. This will prevent the chocolate from spilling during baking. Almost everyone tries this step, but at 200°C in the oven the chocolate will spill, so it’s better to freeze it.
- Let's knead the dough. Mix the eggs with sugar, add butter, which has become soft at room temperature. Vanillin and baking powder must be added to the first portion of flour. Mix everything thoroughly. Add flour half a cup at a time so that the dough does not become too tight. The dough must be soft. When the dough is ready, add frozen pieces of chocolate to it and mix thoroughly.
- Preheat the oven to 190°C.
- The beauty of these cookies is that you don't have to cut them out using cutters. Just pinch off a small piece from the resulting dough, roll it into a ball, flatten it a little, so to speak, shape it and place it on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- When the baking sheet is ready, place it in the oven for 20 minutes. The cookies should turn out golden brown.
After removing the cookies from the baking sheet, let them cool.
Serve cookies with fragrant tea, coffee or milk.

South American Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe:
Grind softened butter with sugar.
Beat in the egg and stir until smooth.
Mix dry ingredients: flour and baking powder.
Add flour in small portions and knead the dough little by little.
The result should be a very thick dough.
Add chocolate chopped into small pieces and mix thoroughly.
Line a baking tray with paper.
We wet our hands with water and form small balls from the dough, placing them at a distance of approximately 5 cm, because they will spread during baking. The number of cookies will depend on the size of the balls.
Preheat the oven to 190*C.
Bake cookies for approximately 20-25 minutes.

How to make traditional South American chocolate chip cookies called Cookies at home in the oven
History has preserved the name of the creator of the South American cookie recipe: Ruth Wakefield. Like almost all culinary masterpieces, the famous South American cookies are the result of an accident, an error. Ruth had run out of cocoa for her chocolate chip cookies and added chocolate chips, hoping the chocolate would melt while baking. But it remained interspersed, and the cookies turned out unusual and delicious. To make regular South American cookies, combine soft butter with white and brown sugar. Grind.

Tips for choosing ingredients
Making cookies at home is not difficult even for a novice pastry chef, but there are certain individualities that need to be taken into account before arming yourself with a whisk and flour:
- Sugar. Generally, regular South American cookie recipes call for brown sugar. The reason is its less cloying taste, caramel smell and attractive golden color that sugar gives to the finished dish. But the introduction of snow-white sugar will not spoil the dish, and if you do not like very sweet cookies, add a spoonful of cocoa powder to the dough.
- Chocolate. This ingredient gives free rein to your imagination: snow-white, black, milky - use any one, finely breaking, chopping, crumbling or grating it before adding it to the dough. In confectionery stores and even large hypermarkets you can easily find ready-made chocolate drops for baking or confectionery glaze in chips (from snow-white and dark chocolate). - Oil. Do not use margarine - in this case it will greatly affect the taste of the dish. Use softened butter, only in this state does the greatest mixing with other ingredients occur. But remember that warm and melted butter are two completely different substances, so a radiator or other warm space, but not a microwave, can help speed up the heating process. Remember that there is enough oil in the dough, so there is no need to grease the baking sheet. Before laying out the mixture, simply cover the pan with parchment.
Traditional South American cookies
- a pack of butter - 200 g;
- ½ cup flour;
- 1 cup coffee sugar;
- ½ cup white sugar;
- 2 testicles;
- 2 cups chocolate pieces;
- 1 tsp. vanilla/vanillin;
- 1 tsp. soda;
- 1/2 tsp. salt.
Any housewife is used to starting to prepare dough with certain ingredients. For this chocolate chip cookie recipe, you can first mix all the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking soda, salt and vanilla. After this, add everything else. But still, it is more advisable to start making butter-based dough by beating it with sugar, after which we add eggs and vanillin. Now you can evenly pour in the dry products that were mixed earlier or one at a time: if you use baking powder, add it together with the flour; It is better to extinguish the soda with vinegar in advance.
Mix chocolate into a homogeneous mass and place 2 uniform portions of dough on cling film, forming sausages (we put them in the freezer for several hours).
Cut the frozen sausages into slices the width of a finger and place them on parchment. You need to bake this confectionery magic in an oven preheated to 200°C for only 8-10 minutes, then leave to cool. Soft, crumbly homemade cookies are ready, ideally mixed with milk.
Eggless Cookie Recipe
You don’t always have all the ingredients you need for a recipe at home, but there is always a way out: if you suddenly don’t find eggs in the refrigerator, you can make soft chocolate cookies with milk. Moreover, this is perhaps the most spirited method of making the sacred dessert.
- 200 g butter;
- 200 g sugar;
- ¼ glass of milk;
- 2 cups of flour;
- 1 bar of dark chocolate;
- 1 tsp. soda;
- ¼ tsp. salt;
- 1 tsp. vanillin.
Beat the butter and sugar and add warm milk, sifted flour, salt, vanillin and slaked soda with vinegar. Pour finely broken chocolate into the well-mixed dough, distributing it sparingly, and put the bowl in the refrigerator for half an hour. Then spoon the dough onto a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake in an oven preheated to 200° C for 10-12 minutes.
Chocolate cookies with nuts
True lovers of everything chocolate will love this recipe for soft cookies with cocoa, chocolate pieces and nuts.
- 200 g butter;
- 1 cup of sugar;
- 1 cup coffee sugar;
- 2 cups of flour;
- 2 testicles;
- 2 tbsp. l. (with a slide) cocoa;
- 1 chocolate bar;
- a handful of walnuts or almonds;
- 1 tsp. vanillin;
- 1 tsp. soda;
- ½ tsp. salt.
Mix the dry ingredients in a separate bowl ({cocoa itself} mixes very poorly into the dough) with a mixture of whipped butter, eggs and vanillin. Add salt, soda slaked with vinegar, chopped nuts and chocolate. Carefully mix the dough and put it in the refrigerator for several hours, after which we roll into small balls and place on parchment. As soon as the sweet “meatballs” get into the hot oven, they seem to melt and turn into golden cakes, which will ripen for another 9-10 minutes.
Ready-made cookies are ideally stored in cardboard bags: if good butter was used during the manufacturing process, they will be suitable for food and very appetizing for 1.5-2 months.
But fresh, warm cookies with chocolate chips, prepared just for your loved ones, are always more enjoyable: use frozen semi-finished dough from ready-made dough to amuse your guests with hot baked goods. The dough can be stored in the freezer for up to 3 months.
