Everyone probably knows the cases when guests came unexpectedly, but there was nothing in the house to offer for tea, and you just came home from work and didn’t have time to cook. In such options, the “lifesaver” will be lavash, from which you can prepare a dish in a matter of minutes, and in our case it will be a lavash pie. And the insides can be anything that is currently in the refrigerator.

Lavash pie with cottage cheese - Bulgarian banitsa recipe

This recipe comes from Bulgaria, it’s very tasty, try it.

We need:

  • 8 pieces of very narrow lavash (0.5 - 1 mm), in Bulgaria - thin sheet dough especially for banitsa
  • 8 eggs
  • 500 g homemade yoghurt, can be replaced with sour cream
  • 200 g butter (vegetable oil)
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 400 g feta cheese or salted cottage cheese

Manufacturing:

1. Melt the butter completely.

2. Prepare the filling:

  • mix eggs with yogurt;
  • Mash the cheese with a fork and mix with the egg mixture;
  • add butter to the given consistency and mix;
  • then add soda and mix thoroughly.

3. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.

4. Take a round mold and grease it well with vegetable oil.

5. Spread the lavash sheet with the insides and wrap it in a roll, place it in the mold, starting from the center of the mold.

We do this with each sheet, laying the formed rolls in a circle, in a row.

We do not lay it tightly. Grease the top of the pie with butter.

6. Bake for 15-20 minutes, the time interval depends on the degree of heating of the oven and the oven itself. There should be a golden crust on top.

7. After removing the baked pie from the oven, grease it with butter. Cover the pie for 20-30 minutes, then slice and serve.

“Torn” cheese pie from lavash

A very playful and tasty pie that guests will appreciate.

We need:

  • 1-1.5 packages of 120 g of Armenian narrow lavash
  • 300 g hard cheese
  • 100 g green onions
  • 6 eggs
  • 200-250 g cottage cheese or feta cheese
  • 1.5 tbsp. milk
  • 2-3 tbsp. sunflower oil
  • salt, pepper to taste

Manufacturing:

1.Grate the cheese and chop the green onions.

2. Place cheese, onion, cottage cheese in a bowl, salt and pepper. Mix well.

3. Break the eggs into a separate bowl, add milk and beat lightly.

4. Mix both consistencies, season with vegetable oil, and mix thoroughly.

5. Tear the lavash sheets with your hands into small pieces, 5-7 cm, and throw them into the mixture. We determine the amount of pita bread ourselves; it is necessary that when stirring the mixture is neither thick nor watery.

6. Carefully grease the baking sheet with oil and transfer the entire mixture. Flatten the top and sprinkle with grated cheese or sour cream.

7. Bake in the oven at 200 degrees for 30 minutes, until golden brown.

8. When it cools down a little, you can cut it and serve it with tea.

Cherry layered lavash pie regular recipe

For the pie, both the freshest cherries and in their juice are used, as well as frozen ones, but all without seeds.

We need:

  • 500 g cherries
  • 1 tbsp. starch, better than corn starch
  • sugar to taste
  • 1 package of pita bread (5 sheets)
  • 100 g sweet powder

Manufacturing:

1. Cover the cherries with sugar, when the juice starts to flow, add starch.

We need starch so that when baking it retains the juice.

1. Place parchment on the bottom of the mold, coat the sides with vegetable oil.

2. Lavash sheets must match the size of the bottom of the mold.

3. Place the pita bread on the bottom of the mold and pour in the cherries and juice, distribute over the sheet and grease it with juice.

Cover with the next sheet - grease it with cherry juice, put in the cherries and fill out the form. Lightly press down any sheet.

4. Grease the top sheet with sweet syrup and bake in the oven for 20 minutes at a temperature of 160-180 degrees.

5. Sprinkle the finished, slightly cooled lavash pie with sweet powder.

Meat pie in narrow lavash

This recipe makes a very unusual and delicious pie. Give it a try.

We need:

  • 500 g of any minced meat
  • 50 g butter
  • 1 testicle
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 onion
  • 200 g hard cheese
  • 0.5 l kefir
  • 1 bunch of greens (dill, parsley, cilantro)
  • 2 pieces of pita bread
  • salt, pepper, spices.

Manufacturing:

1. Fry chopped onions and carrots until half cooked, add minced meat, mix thoroughly and fry until tender. Salt, pepper and you can use your favorite spices.

2. Grate the cheese and chop the herbs.

3. Mix the cooled minced meat with herbs and cheese.

4. To fill, mix the egg with kefir and beat lightly.

5 Line the mold with lavash so that the edges hang down.

6. Coat the pita bread with butter, and put 1/2 of the minced meat, distribute it moderately over the entire area.

7. Take the 2nd sheet of lavash and tear pieces 5-8 cm in size, dip them into the filling and form lumps, which we place on the layer of minced meat of the first sheet, and so fill throughout the entire form.

8. On top of these lumps, lay out the second half of the minced meat, level it

and cover it with hanging pita bread. Lubricate the top with the remaining filling. Place pieces of butter on top.

9. Bake in the oven at a temperature of 220-240 degrees, for 20-25 minutes, until a crust appears.

10. Serve cut when cool.

Lavash pie with cheese and mushrooms

This delicious pie will be remembered forever by your guests, I advise you to prepare it as quickly as possible.

We need:

  • 300 g champignon mushrooms
  • 250 g of cheese of any kind
  • 30 g greens
  • 1 package of pita bread (5 sheets)

For filling:

  • 3 testicles
  • 1.5 cups yogurt
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp dark pepper
  • spices to taste

Manufacturing:

1.Chop the mushrooms finely, chop the greens, grate the cheese on a large grater.

2. Mix all ingredients for filling.

3. Lavash must be cut to fit the mold.

4. Grease the baking dish generously with softened butter.

5. Prepared lavash sheet, dip both sides into the filling

and carefully place it on the bottom of the mold.

6. We begin to fill with entrails: mushrooms + herbs + sprinkle with cheese. We take the next sheet and do the whole function again, and so on until there is something to fill.

7. Sprinkle the topmost sheet with cheese and fill with the remaining filling.

8. Bake at a temperature of 180-200 degrees, until golden brown.
