Mashed potatoes

A delicious side dish for stuffed peppers is mashed potatoes, because vegetables, meat and potatoes are a perfect combination.

If the peppers were stewed in sauce, then it would be amazing to pour this sauce over the potatoes, but if they were baked in the oven without sauce, then it might be a little dry. Therefore, we will prepare the most delicious sauce for the mashed potatoes.

Melt the butter in a frying pan or other iron container, fry the chopped bell pepper in it (preferably reddish, the sauce will have a pleasant color). When the skin of the pepper becomes soft, add low-fat cream or milk to it. When the mixture boils, sprinkle a little flour so that the sauce is not so watery, add seasonings, “Maggi 10 vegetables” or another non-spicy seasoning is suitable, if it does not contain salt, then add salt.

Cool the resulting mixture slightly and grind it with a blender so that the sauce comes out and the pepper turns into pulp.

Let's now look at the side dish for stuffed peppers. The puree recipe is below.

Wash the potatoes and boil them, adding salt. After the root vegetable is one hundred percent cooked, drain the water, add butter, milk or cream, mash with a masher or grind with a blender.

Pour this sauce over each serving of puree and place stuffed peppers on a plate.

This sauce can be used for any vegetable, potato and meat dish. Not suitable for pasta.

Boiled potatoes with garlic sauce

Whatever one may say, potatoes are the perfect side dish for stuffed peppers. The recipe for making it is simple. Try this option.

Wash the potatoes, preferably young ones, thoroughly and soak them in very cool water for one-half of an hour. Peel it and cut into halves as needed.

Fill the potatoes with water and put on fire. Salt only when it is almost ready, otherwise it will boil over and will look unsightly on the table.

When the potatoes are ready, drain the water, do not cover the pan with a lid so that the dish does not sweat.

Melt the butter in a frying pan, fry the chopped garlic in it briefly. There should be enough oil to pour over the potatoes.

Pour garlic oil over the side dish and sprinkle the potatoes with dill and parsley when serving.

Potatoes with cheese crust

Approximately half a kilogram of potatoes must be washed and peeled, cut into thin slices no larger than 5 mm.

The baking sheet should be greased with butter and finely grated garlic. Next we lay out the potato rounds.

To half a liter of milk you need to add one chicken egg, a little pepper, salt and two hundred grams of grated hard cheese.

Pour the mixture over the potatoes and bake for about forty minutes. Sprinkle the dish again with grated hard cheese (approximately 100 g). Bake for another 10-15 minutes until you get a delicious golden crust. This is a wonderful side dish for stuffed peppers! The recipe is also suitable for other meat dishes.

Other side dish options

An ordinary vegetable salad of cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes and other vegetables will also go well with stuffed peppers. This dish does not mix with pasta.

If there is no rice in the minced meat, then you can boil this particular grain as a side dish. But it’s still better to combine minced meat with boiled rice for stuffing bell peppers, it will be even tastier.

Bon Appetit everyone!
